    Extra Key

I was wondering if it's a good idea to hide an extra key on the bike somewhere? How many of you do this now? It sure would come in handy if you lost the original while you were out somewhere. Thanks

    The lost generation?

I was sent this, and have not verified as to whether it is true or not. Regardless, whoever made the video should be commended for a job well done, IMHO. *** At a meeting of the AARP (American Association of Retired People) they showed a video that was submitted in a contest by a 20 year old. The contest was Titled 'u @ 50'. This video won second place. When they showed it , everyone in the room was awe-struck and broke into spontaneous applause. So simple and yet so brilliant. Take a minute and watch it. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42E2fAWM6rA]YouTube - Lost Generation[/ame] Cheers,
  3. Riding into work today, my '88 Venture Royale suddenly lost it's tachometer reading, mostly. It comes on occasionally. At the same time, the engine kind of lost control of it's speed, at least it would rev up and down with the throttle held at the same place. Made it very scary to corner, not knowing it would keep a steady speed. Any ideas on what is wrong? The cruise was off. The charging system is OK. There's gas in it - not full, but should be enough, so it shouldn't be surging the gas tank, though it felt a little like other bikes have when the fuel is about to cut out. Fuel Pump? Some kind of ignition problem? I'm not sure it's safe to ride home, even though it's only a few miles. Does the tachometer get it's signal from some component that controls fuel or spark? Becky
  4. Seriously, I actually have a dead bug in my speedo. (See pic) Have no idea how it got there and I am not quite sure how to remove it. I assume I have to take the windshield off and the black cover off the gauges but now I get lost.
  5. Another Member came up to see me for a day of Fishing..Jimspa drove up all the way up from Ohio for a day of fishing As you see in the photos he's fighting a Huge Northern Pike .....and...... he lost it .....Well I should say I lost it for him....... I was so anxious in trying to get a good Photograph I just forgot to help him with the Fish (or did I hehehe) He caught one of the smallest extinct rarest fish as you see in the photo graph ( L.O.L.)
  6. OK I have the posting for the reservations for the 2009 Hub rally in the International Rally forum section. I had it all nice and fancy and hit enter button and lost everything:bang head: OK redid everything and hit enter again lost it again. Forum Said something like I had no permission to do this? too tired so I made it short and sweet and it went in OK. So I hope everybody can read it OK. Been working on this during lunch and breaks and most of the night hours with hardly any sleep trying to make it nice and pretty for everyone. bummer Sorry for the wait and the trouble.... Buddy
  7. Hello everyone who attended the Kitchener Rally. As a new member I really felt welcomed into the group and only wished I would have been able to stay for the whole rally. I lost my passenger push to talk button either on my way out to the Wednesday dinner from Toronto or possible in the parking lot or on the way home. A shot in the dark here just in case someone may have seen the black knob in the parking lot before we all left the Restaurant. The 401 was heavy with construction, so I am sure it probable fell off while I was going over all that uneven pavement.
  8. I was :think:ing. Over a that a while back our leader had said that it was time for a contest. So I've been doing nothing but :fiddle:ing around lately ing my head in anticipation of :draming:ing of winning big. But I'm . Because I used to be:happy65:when I entered even if I was that I lost. Anyway it doesn't have to be any big:mo money:to win. Any will tell you its not how you:stirthepot: its how you keep your that makes the days go by. Heck, right now I could win and be one .
  9. i guess i will go ahead and stick my neck out and ask this quistion. can you tell me what a color tune is and how it works i seen alot of talk about it and i really dont know what it is or how it is performed i do know that it's got some thing to do with the plugs and carb's but other than that i am lost.
  10. Just a note to let you all know that I am getting ready to do a final backup of the site. Any messages posted from the time that I do the backup until we go live with the new server, hopefully early tomorrow morning, will be lost. So if you have anything important to say or ask, you might want to wait until tomorrow.

    The Death of Common Sense

My parents told me about Mr. Common Sense early in my life and told me I would do well to call on him when making decisions. It seems he was always around in my early years but less and less as time passed by.Today I read his obituary. Please join me in a moment of silence in remembrance. For Common Sense has served us all so well for so many generations. ObituaryCommon SenseToday we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend , Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how oldHe was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, why life isn't always fair, and how, on occasion, maybe it was my fault.Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know my Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm a Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.Author unknown

  13. I lost one of mine. Anyone know where I can find a replacement?
  14. My Zumo got sicky-poo , so it's off to Kansas tomorrow . Not to see Dorothy or the Wiz , but to get fixed . For the last several months , my touch screen has been a bit touchy or shall I say "Stucky" . Also the screens would switch to other prompts or not even respond to commands . These issues happened every once in awhile for the past few months , but I thought it was the cold that affected it . Today it was in the 70's and suddenly it froze up ..... I mean froze!!!!!! I followed every trouble shooting tip in the manual without prevail , so I call Garmin's tech support. I got my Zumo when they first came out . I've logged over 25K on it , downloading routes and other info. , keeping the memory down to a minimum . Making sure I kept up on all the updates as well . As I spoke to the nice gentleman on the phone (Garmin's Tech support), explaining what the Zumo was doing and what all I did to try to correct the issue , it mentioned that I did all that what could be done as if he had told me what to do . So after telling him my serial # of the Zumo , he checked on the registration date to see that my Zumo's warranty was definitely out , way out of date it was . The next words out of his mouth was , "Let me give you a RMA# to return the unit back to us for repair , UNDER WARRANTY!" ....WOW , I couldn't believe it as I got my Zumo back in mid year '06 . He also said that it would take about 10 days for repair and a few more days to return . They are also going to send me a new security screw that I lost out of the cradle and a new security screwdriver that I misplaced . So tomorrow , it's off to get repaired , if not replaced and at no charge . Though my cuz works as an engineer at Garmin in the avionics division , (snicker-snicker) and I didn't mention it to Garmin , I am total surprised ! And will be back in Hog-Heaven in somewhat 2 weeks from now when it returns . I hope my wife doesn't tells me to get lost now , cause I actually will now without my GPS .:rotf: BEER30

  16. Forgot to post this. We lost the only one we have lost since opening our new prison in 94 last month. A female officer helped him sneak out when he was in the Work Camp we have on our complex. He wasn't inside our Perimeter. But he was ours. And she is not any more!! Locked up!! Hope she gets some serious time. We caught him 2 days ago. In a stolen car with a gun. SMART!! Trade a 5 week for a 1 to 10 on the gun, 5 Flat for Escape, Not sure on the car. I have him back in my Max unit with a big knot on his head...... Don't know anything about that:think:
  17. I have spent a lot of time and aggrivation looking for my twin sisters, who I haven't talked to, or seen in 20 years. I checked all of the web sites to look up people. Now the last time I talked to them, they were about 8 years old. When I left my ex, I left all the info behind, and lost track of them. Well....I finally found them....on Myspace. I sent a message to both of them, in hopes of getting a response back from one or the other. Well I did, and then we talked on the phone. You know, it feels good to be able to still make my Mother cry:crying:. But I feel GREAT about it!! And I'm still grinning from ear to ear!! One thing I know now....we will NEVER loose track of each other again!! So if any one is looking for a long lost friend or relative, try myspace!!
  18. Well, got to the bike and the man announce are you ready to se her, she's a beauty. Well I guess he sees through beer goggles!!!!! Busted left lower fairing-big chunk out of ot. Left upper broken near outboard speaker bezel screws. Both side covers loose and held in with string. Glad I had discount tickets to here. He kept telling me how much I would love the bike. I was expecting normal chips and dings. And he claims to be a deacon in his church. BUT WAIT, ALL IS NOT LOST. i HAPPENED TO LOOK AT OUR CLASSIFIEDS AND YANOOSH HAS AN 86 FOR SALE 31 MILES FROM THE HOTEL!! I have called his number and left a message. Also sent him an e-mail. So, cross a few fingers and let's see what happens J. B.
  19. Anybody else have a this problem with the miles from you in the classifieds ? i have made sure my zip code is rite but i am a little more than 299 miles from MD , from what i can figger out i am up in Ohio or IL. somewhere , i know i am lost but not that lost :rotfl:
  20. Hello Guys and Girls, I need some help. I lost my key to my 88 YVR. I was told there is a key code on the ign switch and I heard the removal of the switch is quite a project. What I want to know is my rear luggage trunk is unlocked, can I remove the lock from that and have a key made? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Coachcoby (John Coburn)
  21. Well I got my Road King pipes installed. From the looks of them from the inlet side they are both drilled for stage one. My question is the bike has seemed to have lost a little power and lost acceleration now. Almost like the pipes were clogged up. Also the bike was running smooth as silk before the install and now has a vibration. The HD pipes sound great and the vibration seems to be from the pipes. Is this loss of power and the vibration normal when you change to HD pipes? I had the carbs synced two weeks ago and she was running great. This is the first time I have tried this slip-on swap and don't know what to expect. Moakster:confused24:
  22. Over the weekend a coworker and friend lost his son in a motorcycle accident. My friend's son lost control of his bike and the accident was his fault, but knowing this does not make the loss any easier to the family. Please surround Joe and Donna with your prayers as they deal with the loss of their son. http://www.kjrh.com/content/news/breaking/story.aspx?content_id=945ef4e1-dc0d-48ae-ac99-47d7802a04bd
  23. Venture Riders, I just lost 5th gear on my 2003 Venture. Has anyone ever had any trouble with the transmission? Bakers517
  24. Knowing that you are a compasionate group, I just wanted to let eveyone know that my wife and I lost our best friend today, our Golden Retriever. We had to put Tucker down this morning due to hemangiosarcoma, a cancer of the blood vessels. His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts. He made us smile and laugh for 9 1/2 years. He was a good dog and a good friend. He will be missed. Dennis
  25. Here are some pics of an adaptor I made up for my bike jack. They were on here before but were lost in the crash. Maybe they can help someone out.
