  1. Just wanted to say Hi to all you Guys and Girls. My name is Owen Neal and my wife is Jeaneane, and I am one of the latest members to join your group. My last Bike was a Honda Aspencade, several years ago until now. I recently bought a very well maintained 1999 RS Venture. And it's a real dresser! I don't believe that there is another chrome assessory available that is not already on this Bike, plus the '06 Midnight Seats and the Harley Mufflers. Just another Toy that I really didn't need, but I truly love her! I appreciate the sincere and honest questions and answers from you members as posted on the forums. You seem like a very friendly and honest group! I am also with another forum for Class A Motorhomes and have gotten a lot of very helpful suggestions and advice from those members, in the past few years. But, there always seems to be a few of those "Idiots" who seem to invariabaly try to put down, embarrrass, or insinuate stupidity of the questioners on that forum. I don't believe that there is a stupid question, but those nasty replies only verify their inteligence! I have found none of this on this forum and its appreciated! Keep up the Good Work! I am retired and live in Council Bluffs, Iowa and spend the winters in Mission Texas (Near McAllen) in an RV Park. I'd like to know of others of you who also live near Council Bluffs (or Omaha). Thank You All, and have a fun year! I'll be back again. And thanks to Don for guiding me on how to post a this thread. Owen. P.S. Hey, I even paid my dues!

  3. Are there any members that live near San Diego or Alpine? Need someone to glance at a RSV and give me some feedback. You can PM me and I can get back to you with the particulars. Thanks
  4. My sister-in-law is moving to Spring City, TN. Her new husband is going to work at the nuke plant. I am told that it is about an hour from the Dragon. so I definitely will be visiting. Anything nice around there other than the Dragon? Lyle:7_6_3[1]:

Fellow riders: Microsoft wants to get people to use their "Live" search (competition for Google). So they are offering what is called "Cash Back". Here's the deal 1. You must have a Ebay account 2. You must have a Paypal account 3. You must go to http://search.live.com/cashback and get a chashback account. Then: (These are important) 1. Go to http://www.live.com/ and search for whatever product you want. If it is a qualified product you will see the "Cash Back" logo. 2. Click on the product and it will take you to the Ebay listing (DO NOT go to the Ebay listing without using LIVE or it won't work. 3. Buy your product the normal way paying through Paypal. You will notice the "Cash Back". 4. You will be charged the full amount - and in 30-60 days you will get your "Cash Back" deposited into your Paypal account. This is so that people do not return the product and they get ripped off. So far I have $251.99 - that I have saved..... Please keep in mind - I have no stake in this - I just use it. Make sure you read the terms and conditions and they are something you can live with... Have fun! Shep
  7. Looks like the Pentagon has taken a hit. Whats more destructive then a nuclear bomb? It's CYBER WARFARE. Who is next? Wall Street? Banks? Power Grid? Can we live without a computer? The only reason I have anything or you is because some computer says so.
  8. I have a 2005 RSTD with 18,500 miles on it. I maintain it meticulously. How many miles can I expect it to live? I am thinking it should be like a car and go for WELL over 100,000 miles. What do you think?
  9. I ride a 93 Venture Royal, it has Bridgestones on it now, but I'm wanting to replace the tires on it. I'm just been rideing for about 4 months now so my knowledge is little. Do you all recommend a certain brand, I live in the country and we do a lot of back road riding to get to the highways. Thanks Big Havk
  10. Come to the CHAT ROOM, we are on a live PODCAST! Come on an listen to the discussion. Yama Mama
  11. Hey yall, I've added another bike to the stable. It's a new (to me) '87 Kawasaki Concours with 33k mi I picked up on Ebay. I got it to play in the twisties and commute to work on weekends when I don't ride in the van pool. I live 98 mi from my work. I've already racked up 22k mi on my 07 RSV. The Concours is a nice bike but it sure will make you appreciate the comfort of the RSV!-Jack
  12. Gas prices up locally $0.45 already this morning to $4. Heard in city near by up to $5.05 for reg. Ike is going to cost everybody big time, no matter where you live. I wish the folks of Texas well, but it looks like you are going to get it! RandyA
  13. OK Guys and Gals, I finally bit the dust and found a wireless internet that will work around here. It's the first day, so we will see what happens. Folks didn't like hughes.net around here and we couldn't get dsl even though we are about 2 miles out of town. It is under a half mile from here but we live on a dead end road so who knows when it will come thru. I didn't even know you could get broadband thru a cellular phone service and i've been skeptical, but they say as long as you have cell phone reception here, it will work. Take care and ride safe.
  14. I was just wondering? Is it normal when putting the sidestand up for it to bounce a bit? Its kind of annoying. Is the a remady for this or do i need to live with it? Thanks in advance.
  15. We go here at least once every other year. If I were loaded, I would buy a place here to live. Beautiful country!
  16. Here it is, the Federal SS657 165/80R15, with WWs courtesy of dbtire. Yes, it feels a little different, but no different than any other time I've put on a new rear tire. My old tire was worn down to the cords. A brand new tire will always feel different. Here I haven't put my saddlebags back on yet. I like the looks of this, and I like the feel of it too. No handling issues whatsoever. I can still live up to my namesake just fine.
  17. As I was going through a lot of messages and seeing various people's ride stat maps, I realized that if you live in a central mid-continent area, you have a heck of a lot more choice as to where to go without repeating yourself.. Living out here in Nova Scotia, we have to drive the same 8 to 10 hours before we can start seeing something new lol. Once we hit Bangor Maine we can go south or west.. once you leave northern NB, you have.. erhm Quebec and then Ontario. All large provinces with tons to see mind you. Though we live in a small province, I've yet to ride into another area that has as strong a rider community as we do here, or as picturesque.. And yes, the roads are slowly but surely improving.. little by bumpy little.. but it's pretty. However, the old saying stays.. it's all about the ride. Having said all that, its time to hop on the bike and go explore some more of this marvelous place called Nova Scotia. Cheers!! Happy Canada Day! Knees to the Breeze!
  18. Hi all I am sorta new to the site. Just got my first RSTD and I love it. My only complaint atm is that my legs are cooking. I live in south south south Louisiana and I am wondering if anyone can point me to a thread regarding a solution for this. Thanks:225:
  19. No, it never ends. It's a curse that I will apparently just have to live with. I knew this one was coming though. A couple of weeks ago I posted about how the oil drain pipe on the 8HP engine on the lawn vacuum broke and all the oil drained out and it died. About how I did get it running again and how it didn't even smoke and ran great. I wondered how long THAT would last. I now know how long it will last. It lasted until about 6:30 PM yesterday. I was mowing and the vacuum was running great when suddenly there was a loud clanging noise and it quit. A quick inspection was all it took to see the approximately 3" hole in the side of the block. So....that one is done. It was a 8HP Tecumseh. I just found and bought a new 8HP Briggs on Ebay so this piece of crap will live to vacuum another day. And there with another $325.00.
  20. We have been looking for a sheepskin for awhile for our bike seat. We have a new IKEA store now in West Chester, Ohio, which is about 30 miles away from where we live. We went there this past week and discovered that they sell a very nice one for a reasonable price. I have photos of the skeepskin, with the label. They cost $20.00 in the store. If anybody is interested in one, and you do not live near an IKEA store, maybe I could buy one for you and ship it to you. We tried it on our 99 RSV and it fit perfectly. Let me know what you think. Ron wanted to me to tell you, he was not attacked by our neighbors pet polar bear. Peggy
  21. Economy forecasters are like weather men they seldom get it right.I know one thing keeping the family budget afloat is getting harder to do.These waves of recession are getting high and some say a depression is just off the port bow.Now some joker just said the stock market will hit 16000 by years end and it's smooth sailing. My bills are still paid on time and I put more trust in my computers 100 day budget forecast then anything but prices just keep going up.My kids are having it worse with the oldest daughter fighting to stay in college with two mouths to feed and the future son-n-law currently between jobs. We meet a man the other day who was building a new 4 bedroom log house for his wife. She left him and now he lives all alone. The house is almost finished but he lost his desire to complete it.He has chose to live life as a hermit. He has no electricity, running water, telephone, etc. He says he is debt free and just decided to live with no monthly bills. You might say he is permanently camped out along the river bank. Once in a while someone will stop by with some news of whats happening in the world. This brings a whole new meaning to still having room in the budget for a few more cuts.
  22. Thought you all would find this interesting! Dan Will I live to be 80? Sometimes you just have to ask yourself ' Will I live to be 80?' I recently chose a new primary care physician. After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age. A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?' He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco or drink alcoholic beverages?' 'No,' I replied. 'I don't do drugs, either' Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?' I said, 'No, my other doctor said that all red meat is unhealthy!' 'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, boating, fishing or relaxing on the beach?' 'No, I don't,' I said. He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?' 'No,' I said. 'I don't do any of those things.' Then he looked at me and asked, 'Then why do you give a s**t?' 23. I Posted Before That I Might Be Taking A Job In Texas I'm Looking At A House In Royse City And Wanted To Know Is This A Good Place To Live? Any Opinions Would Be Great!
  24. ...ridden on TWO weeks!! It's killing me! We've had nothing but rain...and I mean RAIN as in torrential downpours for weeks! I love riding in the rain (yes I'm weird) but DAGGUM! I still have to play it safe®. Well...at least I can go to my favorite MC forum instead. Now I know how you guys that live where it si too cold and snowy to ride feel.
  25. I have two daughters, one is 6 1/2 and the other is 4. How old should they be to ride as a passenger? I'm thinking at least 8 years old. What is your food for thought on this topic? On the other hand, part of me says never. If something were to happen to them on the back of my motorcycle, I could never live with myself.
