  1. I have talked to the Quaker Steak & Lube that we have went to the last 2 years in Shefield, Oh and they have a large party booked Friday night. The QSL in Vermillion can handle us. They have 28 tables on the dock balcony. It will be somewhat different than the Sheffield site, but still dinner together. This one will be a more traditional outdoor setting rather than the picnic type tables. We will need to use the tables to the maximum capacity, but we are all friends here. It is the same distance as Sheffield. About a 20 mile ride. Last 2 years people left in small groups to go to QSL. But I would say plan on around 5:00~6:00 time at restaurant. Link to Vermillion site: http://quakersteakandlube.com/Vermilion_OH/ I am putting an event on the calender for this. Map from Don's to QSL link below. This will actually be a nicer ride than to the one in Sheffield. http://g.co/maps/75rae Please let me know an approximate head count. Added calender link below. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=318&day=2012-6-1&c=1 Gary
  2. Just got email from DHL Inc. Says failed delevery attempt and print attached .zip and contact support Notice about 15 versions of to address, and no from address. 3. http://wingstuff.com/products/34009-vertical-trailer-hitch-for-2012-gl1800?from_search=1 I would appreciate any information pertaining to this hitch type please. I have been ask to build a Flag Pole Stinger Mount to accommodate the Goldwings type hitch in the link. If there was enough of these type hitches being used, I would consider building a few for this type hitch. There are some extra pictures to the left on the link page. This type hitch says for a 2012 model Honda GW. I have a new design that looks better and I am in the process of getting some built up tomorrow and painted. I can also build these to include the Goldwing if there was enough interest and people using a hitch of this type. If you are not using this type hitch, then please tell me what type hitch you are using ? Pictures would really be appreciated. Thank you for any information you provide. Fuzzy

  5. I was looking for a left midnight saddle bag, and stumbled onto this auction selling both on ebay. Some outfit tried to snipe it at the end, but I ended up with them. Here is a LINK A while back a rider behind me took off before me at a light, and climbed up the left rear of the bike, pushing me over on the right side. All cosmetic damage to paint and chrome pieces, and his insurance cut me a check for all new parts, about $3200. I ordered the parts from Yamaha dealer and one of the saddle bags arrived with scratches, so they sent it back and ordered another. It arrived and they called me and said it looked like a conveyor belt or something chewed the box up, so sending it back. I then cancelled that bag. I've been keeping an eye on used parts, when I saw this auction pop up. Since saddlebags are around $1000 new a piece, I'm pretty sure even if I have the two I won custom painted, I will come out ahead. Shipping is a tad high, but as my momma would say... I stoled that..... Ex
  6. I threw an add out ther offering my 1st Gen for sale. $3000.00 I get an email from some guy who wants more pic's and says he had his ourn private shipper who will pick the bike up and and look after the TOD. Then I get a couple of text messages from hime 646-481-5977 looking for more details and offering more money that I am aasking. (first red flag) Tried calling him but it was just a messaging forward thing. Then he issisted on paying with pay pal and provides a link to pay pal. He also provides a phone number for his private shipper. I check the phone number for the shipper and it is a cell # out of southrn Alberta, but all I get is an answering machine ( flag 2) I do a reverse number look up on the buyer and get nothing but his area code is in New York (flag 3) Few emails later he is still insisting on pay pal and I should use the link he provided. Told him I didn't trust the pay pal thing because there were pit falls. Still he insistes on using it (Flag 3) Did some more checking through some work contatacts. Long story short this guy in my mind has a link running parralel to a legitamate pay pal site. When you go to his link you are giving him your banking or credit card info. Before your know it he has cleaned you out or maxed your card. Last email to his was either Western Union or his private shipper could have cash in hand when he showed up to ge the bike. Haven't heard from him since. Looks like this guy is trying to scam bike sales. It is to easy to just click the link he provided and he has you as soon as you put in your info. Lets be care ful guys if it looks to good to be true is usually is
  7. Good clean fun!! I remember when.... (for some reason the embed is not working, just click the link) update: changed the link, lets try this... [ame] [/ame]
  8. A few years ago i bought some hardware that mounts the saddlebag to my 2005 rstd. They had large hand or palm handles so that you didn't need a allen wrench to remove them. They can be removed with just the twist of the hand. Well i've lost two of the four that are needed for each side. Can't remember where i got them. I've searched the internet but had no luck. Can anyone help with a "link" ?
  9. I recently saw a link to search Craigs List on one of these threads but can not find it. I thought I bookmarked it but obviously didn't do that either. Could someone please post the link for that national search ? Thanks.
  10. Just sharing the info. Do with it what you wish. http://pastebin.com/NYNQXtps Don't worry, the link is safe.
  11. I posted this in the 1st gen tech forum, maybe not everybody reads that, so I thought to put a link here. I really thought there would be more interest in these side covers from the comments I get when we gather. Don't want anybody to miss out. This will be a one shot deal, so follow the link and post your thoughts and wishes. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67117
  12. When my PC went out I lost the link to be able to search Craiglist nationwide. Only way I can find to search it is city by city. Could someone pass the link along to me. Thanks...Karl.

  15. Wikipedia among others, is considering a website blackout in protest of SOPA. I am a contributor to Wikipedia, and I think Jimmy Wales is right on. I'm ashamed to admit that one of the prime sponsors of this bad legislation is a Republican from Texas. I guess Lamar Smith has been corrupted by large wealthy Record and Movie industry PAC's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_Online_Piracy_Act That link may be working or not depending on when you try it. 18. Has anyone tried these pads listed on ebay ? I have used EBC in the past but was wondering about a cheaper alternative. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120833017792&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123#ht_2984wt_1016 Not sure why the link won't work, you'll have to copy & paste into your browser.
  19. In the upper right corner of every post there is the flags for country and state, and above that the name of the members city. Is it possible to make the city name a link that will open Mapquest or Google earth to make it quick and easy to find approximately where someone lives? This feature is on several other websites that I frequent and I find it handy. Most of us do not live in major cities that everyone knows.
  20. Found this link on another board and thought folks here may enjoy it as well.... http://www.go-faster.com/SS100.html
  21. Hey guys. Many of you will have been terrorised lately by Annie and Al visiting you from down-under. I'm very pleased that she has returned, as I've bought her Wedgetail Outrider from her to fit to my 2004 RSV. Mind you it has to be shipped from one side of the country to the other, but nevertheless it will be worth it. I'm sure the Wedgetail is known by another name in the States, so here's a link to the local site if you don't know what I'm talking about. I'll let you know how I go with it and post photos when done. Cheers, Spear. http://www.wedgetailoutriders.com.au/
  22. You only get one doing this! Chech the link it's beautiful http://videos2view.net/basejump-flight.htm
