  1. When I ordered the links, I really did not think about it, but I do not have a center stand on the bike nor do I have a bike lift. Is it at all possible to change the links without lift or stand?
  2. Yea...that title got your attention didn't it. I received a private message from a member with a link to a tool called "Stripper". What it does is allows you to paste text in and it strips out the smiley faces and etc. so that you can print it without all that stuff. He wanted to know if something like that is available here. The answer is yes. That is a feature that is built in to the software here. There are two ways that you can do it. If you want to print out a thread but don't want all the smiley faces and etc., then all you have to do is click on the "Thread Tools" link that you can find at the top right of the first post of any thread. There is an option in that drop down menu to "show printable version". If you click on that, it will give you a printable version of that thread without the members weather banners, sig pictures, smiley faces, etc. If you happen to be on a slow dial up connection or just generally do not like the smilies, signatures, etc., you can turn them off all the time. Just click on UserCP in the upper menu bar and then click on "options" in the left menu. Scroll down and you'll see a section for display options. There you can de-select images, avatars, and signature pictures. Now...I just realized that maybe the member was actually talking about a program to strip the brackets and etc. out of email that was forwarded to you. If somebody just forwards an email to you...the quoted text is often preceded by brackets or arrows. If you want to copy and past that text to the forum or send it to somebody else...you have to manually delete all those brackets. Here is a link to a program that you simply copy and paste the text into and it cleans it up for you. There is also a free down loadable version that you can save to your computer and not have to go to a website to use. The link is: http://www.mistered.us/stripper/index.shtml So....you can pretty much have it your way. Hope this is helpful information. Don
  3. And let them rest in peace, knowing that because of their acts of bravery, we can all live a better life ... The video at the following link is in their memory (although, of course, unfortunately the list of names continues to grow). [ame]http://members.shaw.ca/travner/CFTribute800x600.wmv[/ame] With respects,
  4. This comes from a servicers website and I don't know if it has been posted before, but what are your thoughts? I have been using 91 in my 84VR and am wondering if it's necessary. The whole article does not seem to post well so here's the link: http://www.motorcycleperf.com/techtips/gasoline.htm
  5. Here are the links to the parts catalogs used by most commercial site: 1983: http://tinyurl.com/4yt66u 1984: http://tinyurl.com/3jmmnj 1985: http://tinyurl.com/3oasrg 1986: http://tinyurl.com/4bnb6l 1987: http://tinyurl.com/4bnb6l 1988: http://tinyurl.com/4zer58 1989: http://tinyurl.com/4kefl2 1990: http://tinyurl.com/4xnecn 1991: http://tinyurl.com/4almpq 1992: http://tinyurl.com/4yn8kk 1993: http://tinyurl.com/4hd5od Diagrams are stored as .pdf's. If you don't have Adobe Reader (or another .pdf reader) installed on your computer, please download the reader from the following link: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html There are two possible ways to see the files: Left-click on the appropriate link and the diagram will show in a new browser window. You can then use the navigation pane on the left to view the appropriate diagram or just scroll down page by page. You can also right-click on the appropriate link and choose the "Save Target As..." option to store a local copy on your hard drive. Navigation of the file is identical for both procedures. On thing I noticed is that the 1989 parts diagram is mislabeled, it show the model year as XVZ12 instead of XVZ13, a minor glitch, the part numbers are correct. Also, the diagrams for 1986 and 1987 are identical. Hope this helps, Klaus
  6. Okay, for those folks that feel that uncontrollable urge to add chrome and other accessories to their 2d gen scoots to feel better about being out classed by the 1st gens. In the lower right corner of the home page there is a link titled.. Free Goldwing Accessories...... Click on this link. You will find a section for Yamaha accessories. One interesting piece is an eagle head with lighted eyes for the front fender. Price ain't that bad either..... And Blusees, they also have accessories for your 750. Nothing for the 1st Gens. Guess they also realize that we don't need anything else.............
  7. Here's a link to a really good article on what the numbers and letters mean, for motorcycle tires. http://www.amadirectlink.com/roadride/Riderresc/tires.asp
  8. Just in case somebody has some extra money to spend, Kennedy makes a Bluetooth interface to connect cellphones, GPS etc. wirelessly to your standard 5-pin DIN intercom system. Here is a link for a possible source, options should fit 1st and 2nd Gen bikes: http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/KT/detail.asp?SET=CELLBT&3=KT-CELLBT-DEV-TTR Not cheap, but interesting... Klaus
  9. Hi, before the crash there were a couple of links to items for the RSV being sold by JCWhitney. One was a link to the ad for a half-cover that fit, and the other was a link by DenDen to a shorter windshield for the RSV. The shield had a price around $82 to $85, and the cover was $39.95. I have kinda scoured the JCWhitney site and can't find either one. Can anyone help? I need to order both,,, Thanks folks! Skip
