  1. The wife is bugging me to ride on her own . I have a Suzuki 1400 intruder collecting dust in the garage. The wifes not big or strong enough to ride it, but could ride it if it was triked w/ a 4 wheel kit. Since we would still 2 up on long trips, I don't want to pay the bucks and am sure I could build one if I can come across some information. Has anyone built one or can direct me to pictures or info. Anything would be helpful. Thanks Richard
  2. Just got an early Fathers Day gift from the wife - a card with a picture of highway lights for my '99 RSV. But where she tried to order them from told her they would be back-ordered for quite some time, so I got a nice IOU from her instead of the lights. She cancelled the order and I told her I would shop around for the best deal and most readily available kit. Any suggestions? I'm already scanning eBay. Thanks!
  3. There were some items that used to be in the classified section that I thought SkyDoc was selling that I don't see anymore. I am looking for the needle shim mod that was sold as a kit. I thought at one point I could get the diaphrams and needles all assembled so it was a quick and easy plug and play mod. If anyone knows where I can get a kit like this, please post here as I would like to order these parts before I have carbs synced. Thank you, Bob
  4. :223:I have a basic first aid kit and CPR mask that live in my left saddle bag. I'm sure most of you have one on the bike too, but do you have some kind of sticker to let folks know there is a kit on the bike?
  5. Have just installed a Triwing trike kit and would like to find a "Leading Legs" kit. After just getting the bike back together, I don't really want to pull the front end apart to have the trees modified. Any ideas?
  6. Torbleau trikes out of wisconsin? Does anyone own one? There is a 2005 RSV with this kit in Texas. For $15995.00
  7. I know this topic comes up a lot but its hard to find much on specifically lowering the RSTD because the majority of the expertise here is with the Venture, so the threads seem to quickly go that route and especially since the Venture can be lowered for free.. Actually this does also apply to the Venture - just wanting advice on lowering the bike using a lowering kit rather than the free Venture mod. I have done a lot of research on this as to better understand the options and caveats especially since I know nothing much about front suspension. So while doing this research… I compiled this summary DOCUMENT of what I gathered from all of you experts… Please let me know if you see any gaps or mistakes and hope it helps someone in the future.. But I do have some questions still.. It appears Barons has two options for lowering the front.. 1) A lowering kit (only two 1.5 in spacers) $25 2) A Performance lowering kit (the above plus Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators and progressive springs) $290 Questions: 1) Given the price difference… is the Performance kit really worth that much more money? 2) Knowing nothing about front forks… how does adding two spacers.. lower the bike? 3) I would probably have the dealer do this as I am not equipped for this.. espec the performance kit if I went that route.. but would the basic spacer kit be MUCH easier or not really? BTW, 2007 RSTD I have had the Butler mod on my stock seat, and it does help. I have 29”-30” inseam, so while its not imperative, I would just like to get a little lower for backing up and stability when two up at a standstill. So debating on if this is worth it or not.. Thanks for any advice, Globewalker
  8. I'm sorry that I can't make to MD. It seems that my wife made other plans for me. I'd rather be at MD than at a family picnic :>( I may be able to get Mic-Mutes kit to Don's house if you act ASAP. If there are 3 or more people interested in having Mic-Mutes kits, I'll deliver them to Don's house on Saturday morning .Call me on my cell phone and I'll see what I can do to get you a Mic-Mutes kit by Saturday. 724-312-3723
  9. Lucas Replacement Wiring Harness Smoke Kit http://www3.telus.net/bc_triumph_registry/smoke.htm Enjoy, Scooter Bob
  10. Does anyone have a supplier and part information for purchasing the just the rubber seals/washers on the piston in a 83 rear master brake cylinder, rather than buying a complete rebuild kit? Parts should be only a dollar or two. Does anyone have feedback on my cheapskate idea?
  11. If this is true, I was told by a Calif sidecar person that this is the last year for the Venture. I was asking about a trike kit for my 2007 Venture.
  12. On the Gen II is the swing arm adjustable left to right? I have installed a Tri Wing trike kit and when the drive shaft is lined up, the diff is offset about 1-1/8".
  13. My buddy has a 99 venture and he just loves gooosing the throttle. so much that it started slipping on him. I said I would do the work but i cant seem to find the clucth kit. the stealer wants$350 for the kit. Does anyone know where I can buy a clutch kit without giving my buddy a heart attack. Any suggestions as well. i think his clucth has to be bled because my 96 feel firmer than his so that may be part of the problem.
  14. Getting a Voyager Kit installed on my '91 VR and my riding buddy has a Voyager Kit on his '97 RSTD. We both need covers. I've read stuff about the Hannigan covers (Sorta like a Nelson-Riggs????). What's the deal? Will a Hannigan cover fit over bikes with Voyager Kits? Thanks. Y'All ride safe
  15. Following is a "very condensed" version of my experience with Earl (skydoc_17) and his 2nd gen clutch upgrade kit. After installing the kit, I was not happy with a specific aspect of the results. Sorry, I hesitate to go into details at this time other than to say the kit does work. In any event, Earl has provided me with an acceptable workaround that should solve my specific issue. By this I just wanted everyone to know how very helpful Earl has been, and willing to ensure my full satisfaction, even though I really wasn't asking anything specific from him. I explained the issue, told him what I did to correct it and he went the extra mile (actually more) and offered a better solution. Thank you so much Earl, there are so many who could learn what the meaning of Customer Service is from you. Also I want to thank Squeeze for his input and expertise in this matter. What an amazing group of people we have here. :thumbsup2: :thumbsup2:
  16. I have installed a Tow Pak trike kit on my "99" RSV and have momentary steering "shakes", usually when not missing a bump in the road, and am wondering if one of those rake kits would help reduce this. I have read that Harrigan makes a kit for their conversions but don't know if they would work with a Tow Pak. Does anyone know of any other suppliers of rake kits if the Harrigan kit doesn't work? Does any one have any good or bad experiences with rake kits?
  17. I am just curious as to how many of you on this site have lowered your bike? I just bought an 08 Venture and it was a bit too tall for my liking and i had the dealer put a rear lowering kit on the bike and i gotta tell ya that it is so much better now then it was that it is unbelievable! The kit dropped the bike about 1.5 inches and now i have much better control of the bike then i did when it was at the stock height. The bike seems to handle better also and it doesn't appear to have hurt the ride any either. I just thought i would post this for those of you who may have been considering doing this to your bike but maybe were afraid to. Hopefully this post will help a few vertically challenged folks like myself enjoy their bike more. When i first bought the bike i was really nervous about the bikes weight when i would come to a stop etc, now i don't worry at all about it. Hope this helps. This bike is awesome and i cannot believe you don't see more Ventures on the road then what you do. I don't feel like the Goldwing or the Ultra Classic either one has anything on this bike, especially when you factor in the price. The RSV a great touring bike at a great price and should not be over looked by anyone when considering a touring bike.
  18. OK I see all the threads and posts about upgrading the spring on the RSV clutch but can't find anything on where to purchase the upgraded spring kit. I am getting a tiny bit of slippage when I really roll the throttle back in 2bd gear and thought if I changed the spring to the upgraded one it would stop this. What do you all think anf if you think mit will solve the problem which kit and where do I get it. Thanks Rick
  19. This is a pic of the floor of my '07 RSV travel trunk. Are these the metal plates in question? Is it safe for me to assume (yeh, I know) that mine either was shipped with the kit already installed or that the PO installed a kit? These plates are (obviously) black, another pic looked like the plates had some kind of bright finish. If this is the right thing and it's the way it should be, it might help others understand how it looks after the repair kit is installed.
  20. my roadking pipes set 3 inches off the ground at rear of bike. my friend who just bought a 2005 like mine sets 6 inches off groung at same point. under the bikes look the same. how do you know if you have a lowering kit installed? bottom of my pipes are flatten , know why now. the guy i bought it from put every oem chrome part made on it and said he wanted it to look like a HD. so he bought one findly and i got the venture ,decked out and looking good. did he put a lowering kit on also. ? help someone and tell me what to look for. thanks
  21. Has anyone been able to put some kind of adapter on the front forks so that both sides can be filled from one point? I found a link here some time ago but the adapter kit was no longer available so I've decided to try and do something myslef but thought I'd come to the experts first. Thanks KB
  22. Well after a lot of tough decision making, my beautiful '07 RSV is now somone else's ride. The GL 1800 is a lot more comfortable (for me) with it's lower center of gravity. I feel much more confident on it, 'specially when riding two up. Seat height is a little shorter also, and I can put my feet flat on the ground. Here is my problem. I installed a Kuryakyn heel-toe shifter and it included a shiny chrome plated left foot peg mount (bracket). The bike still has a dull grey OEM mount on the right side. I tried to buy just the right side mount, but the customer rep at Kury said no way, only way to get one is to buy their kit that has both left and right mounts, and use just the one. I tried to convince them that they should either put one in the heel-toe shifter kit or at least have one available to purchase seperately, but the answer was "it is what it is". Any suggestions? Yeh,I know, pull it off and get it plated. Other than that?-?-?-?
  23. Anyone have a stock set of leveling links they would like to part with.I need to remove the lowering kit on my bike so I can install the Voyager trike kit I just bought.
  24. I've been looking for a low priced used trike kit to install on the bike so we can see if this is the way to go for me and the princess. We found one in the classified here on theVR sit, So we took a road trip 300 miles out to MA. to pick up my new to me voyager trike kit.One day round trip, total of 600 miles, plus tolls.Very happy with the kit so far...Today I'm checking craigs list, just to see if thier's anything I can't do with out, when I come across a voyager trike kit not 8 mile away from me for the same price!!!AAAARRRGGG.:bang head: anyway, if anyone is looking for a trike kit with attachments for a 86 goldwing there is one for sale in Ovid NY.for $1500.00,obo.Will also fit most any bike with the right attaching kit.
  25. While down at the International Motorcycle Show with y'all .... DaMoose (Joe) bought an HID kit for his headlight. We went back to his place only a few min away from the center and I installed it WOW BRIGHT. He really liked it and I did also. The only thing is now the passing lights look YELLOW/AMBER. I like the contrast but they totally do not add anything to the lighting now. We went back to the show and I also bought an HID kit but I got the Bi-HID which has both hi-low HID, his only had low HID regular HIGH. There is much more wiring involved with the Bi kit I will say though. I really like the extra bright white light. Now the question..is there a sealed beam lamp that can replace the OEM to make them look WHITE. Either change them to HID or LED or even maybe change the housing so that it is a BULB type so I can put super white bulbs in them. Thanks for the helps y'all. Oh n I HIGHLY recommend the HID for visibility at night and day.
