  1. I have an opprotunity to puchase a set on 2001 Road King exhaust pipes for $100. They are new, meaning he took them off when he bought the bike. What would I need to install on my RSTD? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks mark:173:
  2. Am looking at buying some Road King Pipes the # is 65547-09 can some one tell me if this is a non catalytic type pipe? I am within a couple of hours of the sale and cant find any info on the numbers.
  3. Jude just started a new job so we won't be able to make it to the Meet this year in Arkansas. I had reserved a king room at the Hub. Anybody wanting it PM me and we can switch it to your name.
  4. Howdy... A friend of mine just traded a motorhome for a 05 RSV with only 1800 miles on it...It has a set of Sampson Mufflers that he says are way too loud...wonders if stock 2003 Harley Soft Tail mufflers will fit on it. I told him that Road King Muffs fit , but I don't know of any others that do... Can anyone provide an answer? Thanks, Steve
  5. My RSV came to me with Bubs pipes and they sound great. However ... after 3-400 miles they start to get annoying. Are the Road King pipes quieter? Perhaps I should consider finding some stock RSV Pipes? Anybody got a set lieing around collecting dust? Your Thoughts?
  6. I know...I know another RK Muffler question. I just wanted to check on something. I just got a very nice set of slash-cut Road King mufflers. They are off a 1998 model. Serial Numbers are: 65546-98 and 65547-98. From my reading here and other forums I understand that these will not contain the catalytic converter. However, when peering though the mufflers I noticed that I can see through the 65547-98 through a small center hole down in the muffler. I cannot see through the 65546-98. Is this normal or is there a problem with the one I can't see through?
  7. My buddy has a HD classic and friends with ultra classics that may have there stock mufflers are they the same as the road king he thought so.
  8. I seen some where in here how to install the rear signals off a Ultra or road king. I cannot remember. HELP me refresh my memory. I want to look at that again.
  9. I found this on another site, hut i liked it and thought it would be cool here. http://www.ratbike.org/motorcycho/outlawname.php i am "Ol' Dragstrip King " of the Heavy Horses MC
  10. I have a 2007 rsmv. At first I put on some stock slash cut road king pipes and cut out both quarter sized chamber plates. It ran good and had a good sound when getting on the throttle. I wanted a little something louder so I got some straight pipes that were off a true dual road king. It still runs ok but I can def smell a def in the exhaust. I was wondering if I should get the carbs adjusted. when in fifth it does get a little sluggish when getting on it. Thanks for all the help. Also is there a way to do this at home or is it just better to get the stealership to do it?
  11. So who else either lives or works in this area with a RSV??? I have seen some being ridden or parked at businesses. I live in King George and work for General Dynamics in Dahlgren.
  12. I have been hearing speculation that the 09 harleys may have a water cooled enigne in the road king or ultra classic. Anyone heard anything?
  13. I put a set of Road King pipes on my 06 Royal Star Tour Deluxe and really like the different sound. I bought the pipes off of Ebay. I was going to drill them out but decided to just knock out the disk (plate) from the inlet side. Was a little work but not too bad. After installing them I wanted them a little louder so I driller 8 holes in the outlet end of each pipe and they sounded alot better. They turned out better than I thought they would. Fit perfect like the other trend said they would. I had to make a brkt for the back of the pipe to hold it up but wasn't a big deal. So if you want a lil more sound and want to experiment a bit I would suggest trying the RK pipes. I paid less than $30 for mine. I do have the stock ones complete to keep in case I want to put them back on if I trade the bike. Jerry

  15. Hey fellows keep this one bumped up til she reads it.She scans thru here. 1 You encouraged me to get a "NEW" Bike, even though cash is tight right now. 2 Did things for me in the last year and half that no man wants to have done for him. 3 Treats me like a King. 4 Baby you are just GREAT and I want every one to know it. I LOVE YOU!!! I LOVE YOU!!! I LOVE YOU!!! You guys see how you get money for new toys??
  16. I was recently given a set of mufflers that are suppose to be off a 2006 Road King but the guy that gave them to me said they did not have catalytic converters in them. The part numbers are 65538-95 and 65539-95 and say they make 80db on a FLT 1340/1400. When I run the part numbers through google it says they are for a FLT just like on the mufflers which is a Tour Glide. The Road king is a FLHT. Also if they are the right part numbers how do I tell what year they are off of and whether they have the catalytic converters in them? Thanks for any help.
  17. A buddy of mine is giving me a set of Road King muflers off a 2006 bike. My question is will these fit a 2005 RSTD. I don't know if they have cats. or not but does it matter? Also who on the list sells the brackets for these? Tom M. 2005 RSTD
