1. Well, for you guys going on about what nothin' is, here is what Redneck surprised me with this morning. Can't think of a name....maybe I'll name her "Nothin'" The other dog is Scooby my Jack Russel Terrorist. The new baby is sooooo tiny.
2. Hey Yammer did you bail your uncle Jack out for Christmas? I seen he spent Wednesday morning in jail for DUI and a concealed weapons charge. What happened to that $315 Million poweball word is he is broke.
3. In the owner's manual, it lists an Aux DC jack and Aux DC terminal. Is the jack the same on as that used for the audio headset? How do you use the Aux DC terminal? Could someone pls elaborate...thanks
4. After looking at the substructure of the Venture I am confused about what motorcycle jack to purchase. What are you guys using? If anyone has the Craftsman Professional model the $200.00 one, do you need some type of adaptor plate? Thanks
5. I want to give a big thanks to Condor (Jack) for coming by today and taking Tom E.'s parts bike away for me. I stole two big, long hugs from Jack and thought of you all and the love that flows through you to the 'family' when were hurting and going through loss. He was kinda enough to listen to me ramble and babble. (and MAN is he TALL! ) Thanks for what you did for me, Jack. It is appreciated more than you can know. There are some really intelligent and smart folk here on this site and I picked up on that when talking to Jack...he is one of the bright ones. He has a nice son, too, who came to help him load the piece. Thanks again, Jack. Your the bomb.
6. After I got home from todays meet and greet here in N/Cal I'm sure the puppy would like to say thanks to jack and the others if he would just drop the bloody bone for a min. Kurt
7. Wondering where a good place to buy carb diaphrams for my '86 Venture Royal? My local dealer seems on the high side. Any help. Jack
8. Can anyone point me to a motorcycle jack adapter for the Venture or give some idea to how to make one?
9. I just bought the Craftsman lift jack but have never used one. I read the thread and replies on lifting an RSV, using the lift adapter, hockey pucs, 2x4's, etc. Seems pretty simple. I am usually alone when doing anything in the garage so the question I have is what is the best way to hold the bike staight up while getting the jack positioned and lifted? I know another person would be the easiest but not always possible.

Motorcycle jack

Anyone have an idea on what type jack can be used on 2005 RSV. I have one that was used on 1300 vtx and c90T but will not work on this one because it is not flat from one side of frame to the other. Any help will be apprecisted, thanks
11. As I promised earlier here are some pictures of the Pit Bull lift. This is the air operated and I feel it was worth the extra money spent. You can use just the jack if you wish. The boxes. The lift ships at 110 pounds. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/002.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/005-1.jpg Next we opened her up. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/006-3.jpg Here are the Venture adapters. $39.00 for these. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/007-1.jpg Next install the front wheels making sure the locking nuts are started correctly. Really only one way to mount. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/012-4.jpg Next mount the jack to the lift. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/013-4.jpg Install the lift locks. These prevent the lift from moving. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/015-3.jpg Swing the saddle over the bottle jack as shown here. You can adjust the top part of the bottle jack for more height. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/016.jpg Install the air chuck assembley. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/019.jpg Here are the Venture adapters. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/021.jpg And the finished assembly. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/022-1.jpg I can not post pictures of lifting the bike at this time. Just a little warm in Arizona so it's ready to be trailered to cooler areas. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/009-1.jpg I was considering a table style of lift but just don't have the room. This should work with the Hayabusa after fairing removal. Pit Bull had $50.00 off when I purchased this model. Shipping was $80.00 at that time. Not cheap but a very well made motorcycle lift. hh
12. Just got a note from Jack's wife - Bev - updating their situation. Would ask everyone to keep both in their thoughts. "Just thought I should tell you that we are ok in case you hear otherwise thru the grapevine. We were on our way to meet up with Gregg and Sandy yesterday morning to head to Laughlin, when a lady pulled out in front of us. Jack has always been very cautious so he had stomped on the brakes & slowed way down before we hit her. Our front tire hit her front tire & turned the bike sideways. Jacks' right shoulder hit her drivers window and shattered the window, and separated his shoulder. Otherwise he is fine. I ended up on my back next to the rear tire of the car. Don't remember getting there, but don't think I blacked out at all. There were some really nice witnesses there who helped us a lot until the ambulance arrived. I was held still so I wouldn't move my neck, really couldn't see Jack, but knew he was talking and trying to find out how I was. And I also heard him say he thought he had busted his shoulder, he could hear it grinding. Took us to the hospital & fortunately Gregg and Sandy came looking for us & found us before the ambulance took us away. They got all of our things off of the bike & then followed us to the hospital, stayed with us until we were released & brought us home. They are such great friends! Anyway, I just seemed to be bruised up, except today I have noticed that my left knee is not happy, swollen & hurts to bend. Gonna go have that looked at soon. So, Jack got a call from Ryan (Visalia guy) last night & I guess the rumor in Laughlin was that we crashed in the middle of the desert (only 40 miles from home) and that we were airlifted to the hospital (I guess if you call a gurney airlifting....). Sounds sort of like the little deer we almost hit that became a moose before the night was over when we rode with a Harley group! So, Jack has an appointment on the first with a real good ortho dr. We are also looking forward to the new Venture this lady will be buying us! " Get well, soon, guys - and what color is the new Venture going to be?
13. HI FOLKS... Just received our new YAMAHA official Head sets. Both are installed into our helmets. BOTH work from the rider's jack. When we plug in to the back passanger jack....neither work. So it's somewhere in the wiring to the jack. . What do I do and where do I start my search to fix the rear set??? Thanks to anyone who can help. It looks to me that the trunk has to be removed to get to the wiring. Remove both seats also???? Tom Schoener
14. Just like to let everyone know that Canadian Tire has the 1500 lb capacity Motorcycle/ATV Jack on for $59.88 April 5 to April 11. Bucky Thompson

jack adapter

can someone direct me to the site to purchase the adapter for the new jack i just got but cant use on my rstd
17. I recently had my Zumo's motorcycle mount replaced due to a bad connection at the mic input jack causing problems when I tried to talk on the bluetooth phone. I had been using a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to connect the mic. This adapter was a straight adapter which along with the 3.5mm jack caused the whole jack assembly to stick straight out from the mount. My theory is that this put quite a bit of stress on the female jack from the vibrations of the bike. So I went online and found a 90 degree cable adapter that allows me to connect the mic and keep the weight of the cable off of the jack. I figure it can't hurt. If you are interested here is a link to the adapter that I bought: http://www.eforcity.com/cothxxxxad01.html DT
18. 19. If anybody here has an old headset that they want to part with, I would like to have it. I am looking for something where the cord and mic are OK but the speakers are shot. I want to experiment with adding a 3.5" stereo jack to them so that you can just plug in a set of noise canceling ear buds of any brand and completely remove the existing speakers.
20. As many of you know or maybe dont know that today was the opening day of the firearm deer hunting season here in Michigan. For many many years (18) I have sat in the woods with my gun sighted in and my nerves very high only to get a doe or a button buck. This year Jack got me a brand new gun and scope .Today was no different other then Jack had decided that he wanted to hunt his sister land 3 hours away and leave me and my daughter to hunt by ourselves. The day was very cold and snow and sleet were coming down but that did not stop me from sitting in the tree stand. At 7;30 this morning I raised my new gun and took aim at a nice size doe and down she went. I thought that well here goes another year of me only getting a doe. At 10:30ish I saw movement only to see that this movement had horns attached I sat and watch a buck come in the left of my blind and I took aim and with my heart pounding I pulled the trigger and I dropped my first buck ever with horns. I saw the best sight ever as he dropped in front of my blind. I broke into tears from finally getting a buck and Jack was no where around to share this with. I didnt want to get out of my blind being opening day so I stayed there and 30 minutes later much to my surprise another buck came and again I held my breathe and took aim and wouldnt you know it I got a 2nd buck...I had to call Jack and let him know and he said we'll be there in a couple of hours he got there in time to help me finish cleaning the 2nd deer. So here are me and my very very very first bucks with horns and the doe that I got too Good Luck to every one that ventures out into the woods and please please wear your harnesses in the tree stands Jessie:2132: P.S. My daughter did not take anything but she did get a chancd to get a shot at a 10 point Buck
21. Looks like sears craftsman has a sale on there motorcycle jack to day. Not a bad price. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00950190000P?keyword=50190&sid=I0084400010000100600&aff=Y
22. O.K., so I've been trying to make sense of the specs on the GPS units I've been researching and one thing keeps escaping me......how do you guys hear them on the motorcycle? I'll like my gadgets, but I'm sometimes technically challenged. Is there anything out there with just a simple headphone jack?
23. I just purchased a new '06 Venture, and will be picking it up in Michigan in two weeks, to drive home here near Toronto. Can someone tell me about the auxiliary connector and jack? one is under the rider seat and one at the front--exactly what kind of connector do I need to plug into these? Also, I will be riding home in probably cold weather. I have a heated suit, but it appears the connectors can't handle the amps that my system requires--6.4 for the coat, 3.6 for the pants, and 2.2 for the gloves. What do others of you do? Run directly from the battery? Thanks in advance, Ken
24. Just got in at 9:10 pm that makes 14 hours & 505 miles on the road, had a great ride, nice group, good food, more great roads and Jack even took us on one road that was comparable to the Dragon...............Thanks Jack.........had a great time.........cant wait to see the pics, especiall the ones Todd, 86er took.
25. Now I'm not the only one that knows so...As you may recall a tornado ripped through our neighbohood on August 24th and brought with it most of the trees that had decorated our yards for many years. After getting our yard mostly cleared with the help of our neigbors on the left side of our house we had voulnteered to help our neighbor on the right side of us.Dave had broke his back a couple of years ago and was unable to lift anything heavy. We had made the day to help clean up on Saturday. Dave had decided on Thrusday that he would get a jump start on cleaning the trees and brush up before the big clean up on Saturday. Jack was outside on the cell phone when he heard screams coming from the next yard. He did not hesitate on busting through the shrubs that lined our drive way and Dave's yard to see what the screaming was about. Jack's first thought was that Dave had cut himself with the saw. What he found was Dave was pinned under a half of a tree that he had proped up with a stick so as to not pinch the blade while cutting but the tree was also still attached the bigger part of the tree. The chain saw was stilling running. Jack turned the saw off and then reliazed that the tree had crushed Dave's leg and the tree was still on his leg. Jack first atempt to lift the tree was unsuccesful and Dave said "there is no way that you can lift it" and with the help of addreline:superman: Jack was able to lift the tree off of Dave and then he was able to call 911. The kids got pillows for him while they waited for ambulance. After Dave went to the hospital ,we ,all the kids and Jack and me went over and finished cutting the tree up and stacked the wood next to our garage. We were able to contact his family and locked up the house. We got a call on Saturday Thanking Jack and that he could not believe that he was able to lift the tree off of him.Dave is back home now and he went to the surgeon on Monday to see if pins will be needed for the crushed leg. This is the picture of the tree that fell on him and Jack lifted off.The big part of the tree that was knocked down was what Jack lifted I always knew that HE WAS MY HERO....NOW THE NEIGHBOR KNOWS IT TO.. Jessie
