    Horn Relay

Looking for thr horn relay on my '02 venture. Any suggestions?
  2. notice anything funny about the middle picture? Front Mount Air Horns For GL 1500 1988-1997, GL 1200 1984-1987, GL 1100 1980-1983, GL 1000 1975-1979 http://www.customdynamics.com/Images/d_135.jpg http://www.customdynamics.com/Images/d_197.jpg http://www.customdynamics.com/Images/d_193.jpg Triple chrome plated. All Air horn systems are bolt on plug in applications. Requiring about 30 minutes to install. They include the horn set, dust/bug covers, all necessary hardware, hoses, wiring, fuse, relay, and detailed instructions with pictures. The air compressor creates instant air pressure to the horns. Since the pressure is created so fast there is no need for a storage tank as on Semi Trucks and RVs. Although the pressure is very low (12-15 psi) it delivers a large volume of air (3 CFM or cubic feet per minute). This low-pressure high volume air supply causes the diaphragm inside the horn to vibrate at a high rate of speed or *frequency* the exact speed at which it vibrates is varied by the length of the horn or trumpet. Together the horn set produces an extremely loud 128-decibel warning blast. This is approximately 4 times louder than most electric motorcycle horns, which usually rate at 87 decibels. AHFRT Fits:
  3. Can anyone give me dirrections on hooking up the relay for the Sebel air horns to the existing horn button? I'd sure appreciate it! Thanks, Dandy1
  4. Well, I finally had some time to install mine today. Didn't take very long at all. The bracket from CarbonOne worked great and the directions were clear. It is very loud. With the hurricane passing through here today, I didn't get much ride time, but tomorrow I will be heading up to the PA/MD border to meet some friends. If I don't have an opportunity to use the horn along the way, I definitely will upon arrival at the meet location. Hopefully I blow them out of their boots. Ride safe, TTW
  5. I've got an 04 RSV and anyone who drives one knows the horn sounds like the cheapest thing Yamaha could find. Has anyone replaced theirs and were there any issues in changing it? How powerful of a horn can you install before there are some wiring issues?
  6. I have a Stebel Compact Natulis air horn on my bike. I replaced one of the factory horns and used the bracket made by Carbon One to mount it. I purchased a Stabel Compact Truck Horn and am looking for mounting options..... Who has two or more compact air hons mounted??? I could use some photos.
  7. I need to order the small black plastic cover that goes on the left engine guard behind the horn. Can anyone recommend a good online vendor with decent turnaround time? thanks papa smurf
  8. ...are not working. I know the one that is located by the rear right passenger peg, where is the other one located at? When I press the horn button, the horn is barely audible. Anyone heard of both of the stock horns going out?
  9. Thinking I might get 2 Stebel horns. One for each bike. Questions I have: When I buy the horn, does it come with the relay? What about appropriate (gauge) wiring? In other words, after I buy the horn, do I still need to purchase other parts to get it working?
  10. Anyone that might have an original horn off their RSV, I am interested in putting one on my wife's 650 Silverado. The little "beep beep" horn just does not cut it. Email or PM me and let me know what you want for it. Thanks EDIT Thanks for looking, but think I will just get a Stebel horn. (see my other post)
  11. I just put on 1 1/4 risers. Now I don't have any turn signals. Fuse is not blown. Throttle also is slow to return to idle when released. Horn, lights work. I tried to open up the signal, light and horn assembly to see if I pulled the wires loose. Took out the bolt in rear but can't get the cover off. Any suggestions on where to look or what to try. Thanks, labill
  12. The horn on the right side of my 2000 RSV is not working. I checked the voltage and it shows to be around 9.6 volts, when the horn button is pressed and 0 when not. Should it be 12 or greater? Is there a relay that could be going bad?
  13. Anyone out there with instructions on how to wire up a Stebel horn for a Honda GoldWing Trike? A good friend of mine has a trike and wants me to install his Stebel horn for him. Any help is very much appreicated. Thanks, Jopie...
  14. Used CB all day today during group CMA ride. Leaving a parking lot, I tooted my weak stock horn to get someone yakking to get with the program. But man, my horn was actually LOUD! WOW! Got to the end of my ride and pulled up beside my wife's bike and told her "CHECK THIS OUT!". It was so loud it about knocked me off the bike. She said "sounds as cheesy as it always does". I took my helmet off and hit it again. Same weak toot. unplugged the helmet, switched to the speakers, hit the horn and BAM, horn sounds out of speakers (remember, headset and therefore mic are not plugged in). Turn off CB and leave just radio on and no problem. HELP!!! If I turn up the CB loud and forget and blow the horn, I am gonna be hurting!
  15. Repositioned Stebel horn Below the right air box.
  16. Guys, I have feedback in my speakers when my horn is activated. I found that if I turn my squelch up it goes away. Is this normal on a 02 Venture?? Any thoughts!!
  17. :think:Installing the Stebel horn, removed my old Rivco's. Questons is that will the relay that comes with the rivcos work with the Stebel? I tested it and it semed alright? Do I need to replace it with the Stebel relay for loudness or is it the same with the Rivco relay? Also, it seems even with the mount from Carbon One that that the wires are really close to the exhaust? Is this a problem? confused................................
  18. when i hit my horn the front one doesnt sound like its activating fullalso i can see that it draws my headlamp down. the bottom right one seems to working fine. whats going on?

    Stebel Horn?

I've been thinking about getting a louder horn for the RSV. I'm looking at the Stebel SNH-02 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Stebel-Nautilus-Compact-Motorcycle-Air-Horn-Chrome_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247QQcategoryZ34284QQihZ014QQitemZ330219056234QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V Has anyone put this on their RSV, and if so, how easy/hard is this to do? Cheers,
  20. Looks like Harbour Freight is selling something similar to the Stebel air horn. Probably just a matter of time before they put them on sale. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=97099
  21. I just wired in a 6 fuse aux panel and the Stebel air horn. Man, that thing is loud. Carbon Ones bracket worked perfectly. I mounted the relay under the right side battery cover by doubleside taping it to the area just below that little round looking diode thingy. Fits in there real nice. Now that your all as excited as I am, I think ill go to bed.....
  22. I recieved a Sebel horn. Can it be installed in place of one of the stock horns? Has anyone placed it in the side fairings? I do not want to split the front fairing. BikerJohn
  23. After installing a Stebel air horn. My bike cranks w/o hitting the start button. Prior to adding the horn we had to have a "before" sound. Key was on and start was hit instead of horn and the chasis ground arked. Testing done so far: Start switch, Relay, Kick stand safety, clutch switch. HELP!!!!!! I have no idea where to go from here HELP
  24. It took most of my Sat - now its done I took video/audio but cannot attach here - anyone know how to do that?
  25. Anybody remove the inner fairing on a G2? I opened the fairing to add an air horn and found the windshield mount bar tabs were busted off the inner fairing. Also the two inner tabs (center bolts on windshield) on the outer part of the fairing were busted off and the male lug on the right side lower cowling was busted off. Wilderbeast is still under waranty (04) and I can't believe it but Yamaha is going to warant the parts. Dealer wants to charge me to hook up my air horn and passing lights (already installed), so I thought I would do the job myself. Any thoughts? Thanks, Ponch
