I was coming home W/B on 17 in the pouring rain a couple of hours ago (5 ish?) and passed a White RSV and a couple of other bikes in a pack (maybe an Ultra classic, a BMW, and a Honda or something similar??). Didn't look like there was any trunk rack on the RSV. Was it anyone here?

My better half was quizzing me about a Valkerie today. So I got onto the Honda website to show her what they were all about. The only problem is I cannot find a Valkerie on the site. Are they not selling them anymore??? Have Goldwing and VTX knocked them out of the picture?? :confused24::confused24:

We may be the only VentureRider members there, but we are leaving early tomorrow morning to ride to Marysville, Ohio for the Last Honda Homecoming. As you know the Gold Wing Factory is moving back to Japan. Ron has wanted to go on a tour of the G.W. factory for a long time. There are all kinds of events going on including a light parade. I went to my multi-brand dealership to get some Honda Moly60 Paste grease however the parts counter did not stock it, so I had a tube special ordered for me. SO, I would have to ASSUME that the service department does not use it......... Does your local dealership stock it??????????

I just got off the phone with the factory rep. He is at Tallahassee Power Sports and just finished riding my bike. He hasn't gone into the rear diff yet but believe's the problem is dry splines. He said in the past tires lasted approx 7,000 miles and yamaha recommended greasing the splines each time the rear tire was changed. The dealers also used regular grease on the splines and this solved the problem. Today tires are lasting 12,000 or more miles and with dealers using regular grease it is not getting the job done. Also there were some problems with some rear ends going out because the shims in the ring gear were too tight. After receiving notices from the factory reps in the field about this yamaha supposedly corrected this problem. This rep recommends that the dealers now use a moly 60 lithium grease. He said he uses it the field and at home for his personal use. He likes the honda brand moly 60 grease. Tallahassee Power Sports just purchased the honda dealership in Tallahassee so he asked the service manager to go over to the honda dealership and get two tubes of honda grease. The factory rep is going to re grease the splines and check to see if there is any damage to the rear diff. He also said yamaha will be notifying the dealers to start using the moly 60 grease. I hope this is the problem.

Say an 05 Liquid Silver pulling a trailor going through downtown Columbia on Highway 378 around Noon. Saw an 06 Black Cherry with a Harley and maybe a Honda riding together with Kentucky tags going east on I-20 aroun 1:00 pm . Looks like all headed torward Myrtle Beach.

Well, I have been having second thoughts about my 07 Venture for quite some time and finally made the decision to trade it in. My wife is starting to get interested in her own bike so I figured I could make this a win-win situation. Not so much. I had in place a deal to trade in my 07 Venture for a new 06 Honda ST1300 for me and a new 07 Honda VLX Deluxe for my wife. I was getting a very, very good deal from Toledo East in Toledo, OH. Was in the garage lastnight and made the comment to my wife that I have to get the Venture preped to take to the dealer. She asked "why"? I said because I'm trading it in for the two new bikes. Her comment was, "You can go buy me the one I want, but that one isn't going anywhere, it's too comfortable and I like it". So, needless to say, I said fine, changed the oil and installed my levelling links. Now maybe my first Yamaha will want to stay at home since my wife likes it so much and not want to spend so much time at the dealership getting worked on. The hangman's noose is put away and I have become re-dedicated to my Venture once again:) AND I don't have to be subject to the wrath of my wife and let me tell you, she has plenty of wrath to go around but seems to only spend it on me:) Hope to see some of your guys out this summer.

This is question about my ( work ) bike... The Honda forum was little or no help. Has any one ran a Oil other then the Honda brand in one of these?? I run Rotella T in my RSV, would it hurt to run this in the Honda V twin???? Also, is there a filter conversion chart some place on here?? I would like to get away from the honda filter as well.. In todays paper there is a story about one of our local small towns installing picture radar out on the highway. It was also noted that warning tickets would be issued for the first month. Well, this local kid on a Honda decides to make a run at it and see what happens. He ends up getting clocked at 101 mph above the 55 mph speed limit. The only problem was he did not notice the Police Officer sitting there clocking on hand held radar both coming and going. The paper showed one of those pictures with the horizontal lines on the wall behind him and he don't look none too happy. At least the cop did not give chase, he just went by his house Sunday with a warrant for his arrest. Seems like the kid had a bit of a reputation on his Honda. RandyA

How is your new Wing working out? If Yamaha does not upgrade the Venture for 09 I'll be taking a real hard look at Honda for sure.

For those that didn't know or don't care Honda Motorcycle USA plant in Marysville, Ohio is closing and moving back to Japan. Brand new plant with some new bikes including another automatic, don't know what size. This past year they made 44,000 VTX and Goldwings. My main reason for the thread is to tell you this will be your last chance to attend the Honda Homecomming July 24-26. The event is unique in that you can tour the bike plant in operation on the 25th or self guided tour on 26th non operational (Saturday) You can see schedule by looking up Honda Homecomming. If you live in or near Ohio it would be a good trip. It's about 35 mi northwest of Columbus
