Tried finding this already.. can't find a thread with the info. I just got all the wires and all for my intercom headsets. I, however, use a half helmet and would like to hear all audio out of the speakers. Passenger wants helmet speakers. I can hear CB & radio out of speakers, but not getting any intercom. Any tips? Or does intercom not go through speakers?

I was looking at purchasing the J&M radio for my RSTD but I was shocked on how much they cost! I wanted the unit for dual riders and it's $359.00! Is it made of gold or something? Does anyone have any experiece with this unit and how do you like it? Can you give me the Good and the Bad about this unit? Does the am/Fm radio work good? I use a shorty helmet a Scorpin 100 and I was concerned about wind noise and the microphone...is that an issue with this product. Any information, good or bad would be appreciate greatly. well im in need of a new jacket and helmet. i want to be seen.as much as possible. im thinking of a white helmet but not sure of the jacket. i want to go with a look that almost makes me look like a motorcyle cop. and be legal. i have a shoie helmet but its over 9 years old. and fell and hit the bedroom floor from a height of about 5 feet. so i just dont trust it no more. as for a jacket somone thought they need mine and helped them selfs to a old black one i had from like 10 years ago. im sure if i look at the local pawn stores it would turn up there. due to good food it wouldnt fit now anyways. so if any one has a jacket and helmet they would be willing to sell let me know. im a big guy weight wise 245 lbs size 46 waist. not sure of my chest size. ii wear 2 xl t shirts if that helps. my helmet size is xl. any ideas where to look for this gear?

I'm looking for a good half helmet to go with my '09 RSV which is what they call Seashell/Raven color. I've already got a black helmet so I really don't want another of that color. Has anyone on here seen anything that might be of interest to me??? I saw an AFX FX-7 that was black and gold. It looked pretty good but don't know about the AFX brand. Need input.

My wife and I both have the chatterbox FRS system which we use to talk rider to rider. They also have an aux port to plug in an MP3 player which I use pretty much always. I have an 86 Standard Venture (so no goodies on board). That being said, I have a Garmin 265wt that I want to mount to the bike (in a waterproof case designed specifically for that).... Here's the problem.......how do I get the voice to my helmet headset??? The 265 is bluetooth compatable but the Chatterbox isn't.......the only input is the mp3 jack. Anyone up on the new technology have any suggestions??:starz:

I plan to purchase the N43 trilogy helmet with a J&M headset. I have looked and looked but I can not find out what is the differance between there Elite (584) headset and the Performance (279).. except the price! Do you know? or is there a web site that does a side by side comparison/review. I welcome your inputs toward other headsets. The helmetshop.com has the helmet at $249, the elite headset for $209 and the Performance headset for $180.

I just washed the liner of my helmet in the clothes washer, 5 years of "stuff" sure can change the color and smell. Then I sprayed a little Simple Green inside and wiped out the stuff again. What do I us to clean the outside ? Wax... Pledge... ? Thanks for any advice Cb

I lost one of the Helmet Locks off of my 2003 Venture. Bought a new one from Yamaha and took it to a locksmith to get it re-keyed to match my other locks. It could not be done. Yamaha has replaced the old lock with one that has an opposite key shape. The old key will not even fit into the new lock. Does anyone have an older lock that they want to get rid of or do you know where I can find old stock?

I'm looking for riding gear for my 6 year old son. He doesn't ride a lot yet but I want him to have good gear for the short rides we do. Where is a good site to buy kids jackets from? I'm probably going to get him an HJC offroad style helmet. That way he will have a chinbar for protection but not be as confined as a full face helmet can be.

I see posts where riders talk about locking their helmet to the bike, or in the trunk. I have been riding for 36 years, and my luck my run out tomorrow, but I have put my helmet on the lock before, stuck it in the trunk, but most of the time I just set it up on the seat. So far I have never had a helmet stolen or messed with in any way. Has anyone ever had their helmet stolen from your bike. Gregg

It looks like Michigan might have or already have a new helmet law, depending on if the MI House overrides the Governors Veto. It basically looks like this if it is passed. Michigan House Bill 4749 allows for "adult helmet choice for Michigan motorcycle operators 21 years of age or older who have completed a motorcycle safety course, have had a motorcycle endorsement for at least 2 years, and have at least $20,000 in first-party medical benefits." The law requires a valid "no helmet" permit, costing $100 for one year or $200 for three years. Non-residents are exempt. The bill was delivered to Governor, Jennifer Granholm for signature into law. Talk about a load of B.S. Allowing you to pay $100 or $200 for the freedom to not wear a helmet if you so choose. Of course they will claim that they are allowing you to choose your own fate, but they are putting so many flaming hoops in the way and making the cost of freedom a burden. Last week I bought a J&M headset from Chrome World.com and it works OK so I was going to buy the bride one except she has a half helmet and mine is a 3/4 helmet. The one I was looking at for her is J&M HS-G45 it says it is compatible with Goldwing but it doesn't mention Yamaha 5 pin connector. Anyone have one of these and your thoughts please and most of all is it compatible with the RS Venture 2006? Thanks much for the input! Steve

we have had our RSV coming on 3 months now. my last bike was over 20 years ago & a crotch rocket where everything seemed fine and before i had met & married my wonderful wife Debbie. She is no stranger to motorcycles BTW We started talkin about how nice it would be to have a touring bike we could ride 2 up and be comfortable. now with a touring bike, we thought great, now we have it. Well, she told me all she could see was the back of my helmet. I have tried sitting a bit right while she sat a bit left. that didn't work cause the bike follows my eyes and i can't keep it where i need it. I have mentioned a second bike for her, but she doesn't want to do that. we would rather ride together anyway. So, with all that, what do ya'll do when ever you are a passenger to look ahead & see more than the back of a helmet? I won't be able to check this thread untill late monday night, so if i don't comment till then, you know why. i am on call at work, so my schedule is hectic. I will let Deb read ya'll's comments and maybe we can work something out. thanks, dale in La.

I bought a Midland Cb to go in my 85. I'm not overly electrical Hooking up the power will be no problem . Cutting the panel and fitting the radio in shouldn't be hard either. I also have a guy at a local cb shop that will help me install the antenna and set it up an swr meter. What I'm not sure about is can I connect the cb to my radio speakers to hear through them? pa system on the radio.That way I don't have to rely on the mike speaker? or should I just spring for a helmet speaker mike system? If anyone can help with this I'd appreciate it. I;ve never had a CB on a bike before but now that I travel more with members with a radio I'd like to get into it. Any help out there?

The his in my helmet is really starting to bother me. I've noticed it since day one on the bike, if I have my helmet plugged in I get hiss. I like to be plugged in so I can switch to helmet speakers at freeway speeds to hear the stereo. At lower speeds I leave it on speakers. I have the intercom volume at 0, and it doesn't matter if I have the radio going to speakers or helmet there is a hiss. My wife says she hears it too, but she has a physical volume control back there and will just turn it to 0 and it goes away. (If I want to talk to her I tap her on the leg and she turns her volume back up.) But the only way I can get rid of mine is to unplug. Has anyone figured out how to solve this? One thought I have is to find an actual volume control that will plug in between the helmet and the bike, but as of yet I have not found one.

While at daytona this weekend I was looking for a new helmet for my (cold) night driving up in Jacksonville, FL. I was at the Helmet Shop and found the new Nolan N43 Trilogy. Now I tried on Nolan's in the past and they alway rubbed on my forhead but this one has been changed to fit my noggon great. Price-eee at about $240 bucks but take a look into it and tell me what you think of it. I didn't buy it... only because I had not done my research yet and I stepped away from the counter when I started thinking about putting my intercom onto it. If I installed the set I now have (J+M) I would have to cut a chunck out of the new helmet so I am thinking hard about putting an other $175 into a head gear that will fit right into the helmet (like their n-comm unit does). Anyway, I did find out that this new N43 helmet over in Europe is called the N43 Air. That one has a better air flow then the trilogy but is not sold here.'''' Now that is the one I would like to buy! So if anyone has the nowhow on how I can get it...(like some of our venture buddys over in Europe) please help me out. ken

Looking for a reasonable way to use a CB on my RSTD. The Midland 75-822 looks possible, but I use a half helmet and can't find any good way to mount it. Any suggestions? Thanks!
