I was heading back to Salt Lake City from a four day trip through Colorado and the bike shutdown. I was heading north on I-15, our major north/south route, with afternoon rush hour traffick. In the fastlane at about 80-85 and the bike stopped responding to throttle. Had to stop on the left side of this four laner with not much room to do even that. Cars whipping by merely inches away. I now have a new found respect for our Highway Patrol. One car did a slow down manuver to four lanes so I could push my bike to the right side. Our Highway Incident Command wanted my bike off the highway so I pushed that sucker 3/4 of a mile to the next ramp. Have I mentioned the muscle pump I got from that. Long story short.....friends called.....bike trailered.....all because of a clogged fuel filter. This filter had less than a year on it and only 7,000 miles. How long should they last? Our local yamaha guy told me to pay better attention to buying good quality gas. My neck of the woods that would be Chevron. Priciest too...go figure. Anyway.....it put me in a dangerous situation with some huffing and puffing to boot.....lesson learned on doing a complete check of the bike before a long trip out of town.

I am signed up for the coming Saturday for RLAP in houston. last communication i had with them, i was the only person signed up for class. If anyone is interested, it would be nice to have additional riders. a buddy and myself will be heading over on Friday to spend the night & then attend class Saturday (9-12-09). afterwards we are going to head to Galveston & find a place on the beach for lunch. then a bit of riding around before heading back to central Louisiana. dale in La p.s. my buddy is not attending the class, just an excuse to take his HD for a ride.

Well I'm hitting the road. Ok in my car. Anyway heading up to my folks for a few days. Trip was a little iffy thanks to bill out there in the atlantic, but they say he won't hit us. I'll get to check on the site everyday since my folks have internet. Just thought I'd let you all know I was gonna be gone in case ya missed me. Heading out in the morning for the 8 hr trip. hi all just to let ya'll know brad & lonna left my house around 6:00 am this morning. all i can say is they are planning to head east, for a while before heading north. the squid & sweetnothing are on the loose. it was good to have them stay with me. looking forward to their return. best reguards don c.

Heading out Saturday. Going to Rocky Top w/ the Family. Might be able to check in tomorrow. Not sure yet. Got lots of things to get done to get ready.

Not enough time to get to the Hub, but Beth and I are on vacation.....one whole week! We're heading down to Pigeon Forge once again, but this time a couple of friends with BMW's are coming with us....(yup, I have friends, they just don't know any better). First time for them in the Smokie's....really looking forward to the time away. We're heading out first thing Sunday morning, have to attend a 60th birthday celebration today. We hope to be at the Hub by noon on the 4th. (cannot leave until banking done on 3rd) Question: On the 6th, is that the day for everyone to leave or do most people leave the morning of the 7th. Reason: We plan on leaving the Hub and heading to Lake Guntersville State Park in Alabama for 2 nights, so trying to plan itinerary. Then heading to the Dragon and Pigeon Forge for one night......Thanks

Anybody from Pa heading to WV on thurs. want to hook-up for the ride down? We will be heading west on TP to either Breezewood or Bedford, than dropping down to MD 68w to 79so. anybody want to join us? Rts are flexible, like to be down there mid afternoon or so. Craig

Is anybody else going to tour after Cody roundup? Black owl, and Grandpagak and I are riding to Cody together but after that I'm looking at possibly heading down to the Grand Canyon then Texas way then back up to Iowa. Will be camping along the way. God Bless. Mike

We are setting out sometime this afternoon when dale gets off work.Time ?? who knows ! Going to stop in Springfield, Il for the nite....then on to ohio wed morning. First stop 2nd daughters to see grandkids, and spend the nite. Second stop moms, spend the nite there thursday. Dale is heading on over to Dons area thursday morning to see some old friends since we used to live there.(notice how hes skipping out on the MIL visit??) Haylie and I will catch up with him there friday. My oldest daughter flew out here saturday and will be riding with me back to ohio( she lives there) while dale rides the bike. Will be stopping into dons sometime friday afternoon/evening. Dale has a step sister who lives right there in S. Amherst she is keeping Haylie all day saturday for us while we attend MD. Heading west Sunday and spend the nite at dales bros in IN then its on home mon morning...... Wish us luck that the pain in the a** van doesnt give me any more probs on the trip.... beginning of trip isnt looking good for dale on the bike....storms around here this afternoon predicted..... see u all in ohio !!!

Friday the co-pilot and I are heading up to Northern Utah on Quicksilver - spending the week at Snowbird and riding out each day from there. Anybody else gonna be around in Utah during the week of May 17-23? It'd be great to meet up and say howdy if schedules happen to cross. We haven't made any specific plans yet beyond getting there Saturday night and departing the following Saturday morning. We'll probably be covering any interesting side roads we can find within about 400 miles of Salt Lake City all week long. Ride safe! Goose

i'll be heading for FLA. in about 45 mins. takes me that long to get the leather and helmet on , so if you see a silver 1st gen. goin east on I 10 , wave . will not be able to check in untill the 1st of the year , not taking the laptop . Thom

I will be heading out for a trip to NC tomorrow. Stopping for a day's worth of meetings in St. Charles, IL and staying Sat night in Indy. Will then be heading for the Smokys. If timing works out, some of you Knoxville folks may get a call for an impromtu M&E. If anyone has a free day on Monday, come ride along. Best roads east of the Mississippi. RR

BACA is coming tonight to meet Haylie and give us some more info. they would like to have a biker name for her to be known as....only 1 person, the child Liaison, from baca will know her real name or the the specifics of what happened to her. I need some ideas for a name....i cant think of anything..... I believe they are going to give her a vest and i dont know if they put her name on it or not. heading out to get her from school and then to therapy will check in when we get back and see if ya all had any ideas...... thanks for the help !!

Looking for ideas, advice, or whatever to enjoy the Outer Banks on motorcycle. We will be starting in WV going to Virginia beach then heading south. Want to spend 3 days checking things out then we will end up in Mrytle beach. Thanks

...early tomorrow morning, we'll be leaving London/St. Thomas and heading towards DuBois, PA for 4 days of riding and camaraderie. 7 bikes (11 people) heading out, and we'll be based out of the Clarion Hotel in DuBois. So, if you're in the area, pop on over. Or if you see an 06 Black Cherry RSV being followed by a couple of VStars, a couple of Vulcans, a Boulevard and an HD Bagger ... wave, 'cause it will likely be us! Cheers,

Saw a couple of RSVs in Kentucky today. Anybody heading north on route 8, River Road, close to Mayport early this afternoon on a silver RSV? Saw the next one heading north on route 27 in Stanford around 4 or 5 PM. A charcoal/gray one.
