Guys and girls we may have a new NY member shortly. He rides a Harley so I told him you guys would be nice to him and ride a little slow so we didn't lose him on the rides. He rode with us last year on the fingerlakes ride but headed home in PenYan. Remember BIg Tom play nice.

Support our troops, and don't get this thread deleted, please. Show some respect for these guys.

You guys seen the new 2012 Goldwing. I may be late with this but I had not seen one before. Nice looking bike but looks a lot like a BMW. Lot of creature features. Not for me but nice. BOO

A friend of mine dropped by last night to show of his '86 Aspencade with 86K miles which he bought for $1000. By the outside lights it looks like it is pretty decent. He plans to ride it until he finishes customizing his wing's paint job and offered to sell it to me at that time for the same 1000. Without other research (you guys are it so far), I imagine that you guys are going to tell me that at that price I can't go wrong?? How about the bike itself? Problem areas (alternator?)? How does it compare to my '83 Royale? Or is that like apples and oranges? Thanks!

Anyone got any ideas on this 17MM tool for fork cap removal on the 1st gens? http://www.restockit.com/sunex-1-2-drive-hex-impact-socket-17mm-(sun26499).html?source=CJproduct Price seems reasonable, and I wouldn't have to create a frankenstein tool outa parts. I am a mechanical guy who would use thing quite often for other projects too, so it wouldn't be job specific to my 1st gen. Looks worth the purchase to me, unless you guys have other suggestions. Thanks. Rusty

Sling and Peggy rode over from Augusta this afternoon and the guys played the dulcimer! And Tom rode down from Charlotte! Sleeperhawk and Rick did a carb tune on Tom's bike - the guys just can't keep their hands off the bike! It was great to meet Tom and look forward to meeting his wife Amy next weekend in Greenville! Just a few pictures!!! Trying not to wear you guys out with a lot of pictures this year! Can't guarantee what will happen next weekend though!

I have a '99 RSV and in this off season I want to update my bike to make it more comfortable for my wife (rider). Wondering what suggestions you guys have and what you have done to make it a little better. Wondering about armrests. Are they work the effort? How about other suggestions? Thanks, Scott....

I was surfing the VRide Canada, a website that has taken videos all across Canada from an HD Vrod, and found this video that i thought was cool with a Bald Eagle flying along while the bike was going past. The Bald eagle is an about the 3 minute mark, and the video is from the Merritt, BC area. These guys have some great videos have a look around and watch a couple. http://www.vridetv.com/blog.html?entry=motorcycle-riding-with-a-bald And here is the vid taken from just south of home, Regina, SK at the old Corner Gas TV Set. http://www.vridetv.com/hdcornergas.html -----if you guys watch this you will understand why i travel into the mountains or States to go for a ride

So, the bike is parked for the winter and the honey-doos are on the back burner and another thread about toilet paper caused me to think about this topic .... so, here's one of mine... .... and mine is definately a guy thing... (but I'm sure the ladies will have some similar stories)... It really "irks" me when I walk into the john and up to the urinal to see that some guy had peed all over the floor. I mean... who are these people that can't keep their pee IN the urinal? Do they know they are getting it all over the floor? ... Do they realize there is guys like me who are repulsed by stepping in some other guy's pee? Do they realize that by splashing it all over the floor they might also have soaked their shoes and/or maybe even their pant legs? What are they doing that causes them to totally miss the urinal....are they thrashing it side-to-side?? ... just who are these people anyway?? Just once I'd like to catch one of them in the act!! LOL Now that's just one of my "pet peeves" .... let's hear yours! (this should be interesting...) LOL

Hello guys, its been a long time since I've been on a bike, or even ridden a venture! Well after going through a yamaha v-star 650 and a honda shadow 1100, i'm again looking to trade for a venture. This time i'm getting a 1300 hundred because i would like more options and better transmission. Dad bought a royale star tour deluxe and it really made me want my venture back but hey guys, im back in the saddle again

Got an appointment for 8:00 am Monday morning at the Winnebago factory in Forest City Iowa. We've been having some trouble with one of the slide outs and they need to remove it to make the fix. I figured it would be much smarter to let the guys who built it, fix it, rather than the dealer. So we're off bright and early tomorrow morning. Planning to head to Branson Mo. afterwards for a few days.

Hey guys, Wanted to pass a long some pics of the change over from the stock mufflers. Used the template measurements from earlier posts for the brackets and it worked great. I left the baffles intact on the RK cans for now as some guys mentioned the sound gets better with some miles - can always go back later and pop out one or both of them if I want more noise. Picked up the cans on Craiglist for $20 and $40 for the clamps so not a bad mod cost wise and took a short run yesterday and the sound is definitely better. The info on this site is invaluable - thanks to everyone. By the way '08 RSV I bought a month ago with 1600K on her - now 3600.

A short question...... what is the S in the new Venture model ? So when I look at a Venture with no S what am I missing out on ? Thanks, you guys are always great here.

Were you the guy who brought all the wing riders to Memphis? Thanks for doing so if it was you. I wasnt able to catch up to them after the tour and I wanted to talk to the guy who challenged us for next year. If you can send me his email address, I would sure appreciate it. Got to get a head start on those guys for next years effort, they sound like a pretty serious bunch of riders with their fundraising abilities....................:mo money:

I just came home, and was looking for the usual drunk post, but I can't find anywhere to post to. Angel always says "oh no, you're not drunk posting again, are you?" I worked all week, and took a day to get hosed before I go back tomorrow, and was gonna indulge myself on here....and you left me no drunk-worthy material to post to.....shame on you! I still love you guys though.....lol!! P.S. I don't care what you guys think of the "I love you guys" post this time, either..... I am comfortable in my heterosexuality.......nyah nyah nyah. P.P.S. can ya tell, I have been drinking?

Not sure if this is the right place but a coworker found a '97 Royal Star and fell in love with it except for one thing--He says there is a loud whine between gears when he is down shifting. I have never heard of this and thought I would throw it out to you guys. He said there is no whine when cruising or when up shifiting only between gears when downshifing.. Should he be concerned?

Hello everyone. I'm brand new here. I have a 2006 RSV, and it's nearly perfect! I am thinking about getting a shorter windshield for summer riding. I love the big shield when it's cold, but I would like to feel a breeze when it's 90 degrees. I was wondering if anyone could give me feedback on the shorter shields. I'm 6' tall, and I'm looking at either a 6" or an 8" windshield (measured from the front where the chrome meets the plastic). I'm mainly looking for guys (about my height) that have put on short windshields. I don't want to get a bunch of buffeting around my head, but I would like to "feel" some airflow. Thanks for any info.
