  1. A first gen moved in across the street. I guess I should be polite and say hello. I don't want to seem snooty.
  2. Do you know what is that hose next to the battery? My best guess it may be a vent hose for the battery. (See pic)
  3. ok what am i doing wrong? i worked on my brakes a while back. i did over fill the rear master and had a overheat lock up. i lossened the bango bolts as i couldnt get the bleeder lose. this was a roadside emergency. i sat for a half hour. drank some water. and the bike was ready to go. yesterday it was in the 60,s i went for a 12 mile ride all was well. today its in the 80,s i went for a ride and damn i wasent even hardly useing the brakes just going up a hill got to top and then a nice long country road awaits me. then it happened again. brakes locked up? once again opened the bango bolts i need to get new bleeders . these are some what rounded off by PO. now there is no brakes what so ever for rear and left front. thats ok as i made it home. but did i put the wrong brake fluid in there and its over heating? bike says DOT3? i bet this has a low boiling point. any sugestions.? i borrowed my maxim and now looks like a no ride day. just sit back grill some steaks and get wasted. i guess. i did replace the rotors all new pads rotors where used from pinwalls off of ebay. only 21000 miles on them and looked good? well time to fire up the barbie i guess?
  4. Guess what I had for dinner last night? They were very tender and delicious! http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/0326101914a.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/0326101917a.jpg
  5. Figured my time was about up. so i just renewed for another year. Guess you guys are stuck with me for another year!
  6. OK...it wasn't very far but I did get out on the bike for the first time this season. Only got in about 40 miles but it sure felt good. Bike had been sitting all winter on the battery tender and a full tank of gas with a can of Seafoam. It started as soon as I touched the starter button. Got a little ride in and then just before getting home, I had a long stretch where I could see a mile or two ahead of me. No cars on either side of the road so I wound it up to about 110 MPH for just a few seconds. She is running great and it sure felt good to get some wind in my face. The bad news is that a thorough inspection of the tires does show just a bit of cracking starting on the rear. This is an Avon Venom and I'm hearing WAY too many reports on this problem. I don't know where the rest of you are seeing the problem but these are very small cracks...about 1/2" from the rim. Mine are very small and each one is maybe 3/4" inch long or so and they almost make a dashed line around the tire with each one being maybe 6" apart. I'm not too concerned about them at this time and will continue to run the tire but will keep my eyes ... er...my EYE on them. With repeated reports about this issue though, I guess these will be my last Avon tires. It's a shame because I really like the way they wear and handle. I guess next time I'll either go back to the Michelin Commanders or else try the Elite 3.
  7. got on the bike today and the radio wont work. all the funtions come on and i can change stations and go to the CB but there is no sound. now before i split the front is there any thing else i can do i or any thing else i need to look for? i really dont want to split the front it scares me to mess with that but if i have to i guess i will.
  8. Guess who is looking for a new bike again!? Nope, not me this time! Marilyn has had her eye on the Raider ever since she sat on one last year. Loves it....red with flames. Does anyone have any report on them? I have checked a little into their site but it didnt help me much. Also does anyone know of a good deal on one? And you know we will drive a long way to get a good deal! Craiglook has several and one in Sherman TX looks really nice and loaded as well! But I checked the dealer site and its not listed there anymore so I assume its gone.
  9. I'm looking to get a new set of speakers for my bike (Soundstorm F240's) for a great price. They seem to look great, and have great specs regarding what I'm looking for. However, I'm not sure what the output is on the radio amp? I'm gonna guess it's less than 50 watts as most cars in that time period usually had 35 watt amps from the factory. Thanks in advance, WHCC
  10. BradT

    Doh

Never guess what I done, I sort of dropped Naugh-T's new bike. Took it off the trailer, started it up and brought it down to the sidewalk and put the kickstand down. As I walked away and about 10-20 seconds later I turned back and it starts to fall over. I know the kickstand is down all the way but maybe with the slight slope it rolled forward. It was scary I picked it up but only after the signal light smashes, a couple other sratches and a bunch in the wind shield. Extremely happy there are No scratches in the paint. Then I thought how scary it will be to tell Naugh-T , who took it much better than I would have. No pics. Brad
  11. I got out and rode some yesterday. Good thing, woke up about 6:15 to 3-4 inches of snow. Its 11:00 am now and we have around 6-7 inches and are expecting in our area about 18-24 inches by sunday. I guess New Jersey will call a stateof emergency. Our road guys are not used to seeing those snow totals here. I hope everyone has a great holiday and stay safe. Chris:rudolf:
  12. Well I got in from our little town today and while I was there some film makers were in the town square..To my surprise they are remaking the film "True Grit" here and around Blanco,Texas. I guess one of the resons may be the connection with actress Shelly DuVall who lives here in Blanco..I guess thats whay they picked it?? Anyway I am going to find it hard to think that a remake will be better than the original...There just aint no other than John Wayne! http://www.blancocountynews.com/ Added this link for just a small bit of Info I found..Not much about it but states the Actors..Scroll down to "Hollywood comes to Blanco"
  13. Hey I copied this off of another site. They're talking about the motor cycle wave that is so prevalent here in the states when we ride. Of course most non-riders think it's goofy, but this Aussie responded based on what's normal over there I guess. Is this the general consensus over there? Just wondering? "No mate, we just don't wave. You're on a bike, I'm on a bike, we nod as we pass. Aussies and UK riders don't get excited about seeing other people on bikes. Many don't even bother nodding at all. Kinda surprised me that everyone I saw on a bike in the USA DID wave at me. We're not into the brotherhood of bikers stuff here. Maybe some Harley clubs are. That's not to say that guys won't stop if you look like you need help. I guess we're just more reserved is all. We don't fly flags or get all misty eyed when we hear the national anthem either. (Most of us think Waltzing Matilda should be the national anthem actually) It's about the only song most Aussies recognize when they hear it. Apart from ACDC of course."
  14. Ok I got the new Bike home and I have a few Questions about the breaking in. It says in the manual not to give it more then 1/3 throttle for the first 600 Miles. Is there a certain speed not to go over? I've put 75 miles on it and I've had it up to 60 is that bad? There's no tach So I guess I can't keep it under certain RPMs. It's a new bike and I don't want to F*** it up by not breaking it in right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  15. I wanted to buy some Moly 60 paste. i found it online, but wanted to do some business locally. Well, i really did not want to wait on the shipping time. The parts counter guy was friendly and helpful, but said they don't have any and the requests for it are basically nill, so they don't stock it. I looked at him sort of funny and wondered what do the mechanics use? I said "Really? Well, alright then, i will order it online." He said "Ok, man, sorry." Since i have started riding again, I have been to all the motor cycle places in lake Charles, la and have been surprised at the lack of stuff for sale. Yes, you can find the basics. get a scooter, settle for an instock but not what you want helmet and an overpriced jacket and you are riding that day. (with approved credit!!) Since I was there, I figured I would look around. I guess i was really disappointed when i was walking around the show room and did not see any GWings. A salesman asked if he could help and i asked where they kept the GWings. They had none. Ok, i guess all these crotch rockets are supporting the electric bill. anyway we chatted about this n that and i was on my way empty handed. I ordered some moly off flea bay after looking around the net. I already knew that the Yama shop had no RSV's on the floor, so i didn't go by there to get some more of their inattentiveness. I went to home and cooked dinner. So how is service and part stock supply in your home town? anyone else get the same treatment?

  21. A couple of weeks ago, my wife wrote off her bike hitting a car, on the way to work. She sheared off one crash bar completely, broke off and split the floor board in half from the other side, bent the frame and forks, broke off the front turn signals, dented the tank, exhaust and broke the windshield. The mustang seat and chrome side covers and the back of the bike were untouched. Other than the multiple bruises, pulled muscles, split lip and a damaged helmet; she is so fortunate to be here. The only thing she remembers right after the accident is this old Indian guy with a turban standing over her lying on the pavement, knocking on her helmet asking, "lady...are you ok?", over and over again. By the time the ambulance got there, she said the stars and spins were gone and she could see straight once again. She was then checked out by the paramedics and refused to get into the ambulance to go to the hospital? Stubborn as a mule! Instead she got a ride and hobbled in to our family doctor and the chiropractor to be checked out. When she phoned me at work and told me what had happened; she then asked if I could buy her a new one? I could have easily been a widower if it was His choice and she's asking me for a new bike? I guess it just wasn't her time? I'm proud of her for riding a bike, and I thank God she's still here in one piece with no permanent damage. I guess I'll just use the old one for parts? Anyone have an 07, 08 or 09, Suzuki C90 for sale?

  23. I'll be bringing home a few souveniors from the mountains. We explored today a geological find at a construction site in the mountains of West Virginia. We were at about 2500 ft above sea level and found fossilized rock formations with sea shells at the dig site. Guess like they say at one time we were underwater.I guess the beach is closer then you think.
  24. I finally upgraded my horn (thanks to Carbon1's bracket) and added highway pegs. I'm still playing with the adjustments on the pegs.. Right where I would like them they interfere with my air vents, so at the moment I have them just back enough so the vents still work, but I think that they are a little too close there.. I guess I will try them just forward of the vents next. Oh I got the Kuryakyn longhorn offset dually with ISO wing pegs. www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/catID/18/scID/53/IMID/460
  25. Guess they made different fairings for the '04 '04 Venture Fairing
