  1. Well, I've gotten nowhere getting my parts returned. I'm still working on it, but the stress got to me so I bought a new Goldwing. :cool10: Looking forward to seeing you all on the road again.
  2. but something a little different I ran accross on another forum I am member of (Naked Goldwings) I like it and it is home garage built. oh by the way this is based on a 77 GL1000 goldwing
  3. Is is OK if I stick around and harass you good people ???? There just was not room in my stable for three bikes and I just had to buy the 2006 Stratoliner S to go along with the 2006 GL1800 Goldwing... DON'T HATE ME!!!! :crying: I'd still be proud to ride with y'all so please don't forget to holler at me when you come to San Angleo... :smile5:
  4. Early bulletin from Honda on the 2009 Models: http://powersports.honda.com/motorcycles/touring_sport_touring/model.asp?ModelName=2009+Gold+Wing+Audio%2FComfort%2FNavi%2FXM&ModelYear=2009&ModelId=GL18HPNM9 See if you can tell by looking at the link what they added to the 2009 Goldwing. Other new news from Honda – the DN01 (Cool looking Automatic bike) is coming to the US. That’s about it (besides a few new dirt bikes – fuel injected). Honda’s official announcement is next week. Also – the new Suzuki’s are out. There is a new Boulevard M90 and a smaller Boulevard M50 (Black and Limited models as well) and new colors. The GXR1000 has been redone and there is a new standard model called the Gladius. Stuart
  5. Was wondering if anybody new the site for the goldwing version of venturerider.org Thanks:Venture:
  6. Has anyone tried to mount a Goldwing seat on a VR? I was looking at GW1500 seats today on ebay and they look very comfy. I realize I'll have to move the trunk back. Might look for a cheap deal and try it this winter. Roger
  7. I heard a silly rumor that Yamaha was going to be redesigning the Royal Star Venture for next Summer as a 2010 release. The source that I heard this from also stated that they will be using a variation of the new V-Max motor bumping the displacement up to around 1900cc(dare I say Goldwing territory?!) and adding ABS (finally!). Has anyone else heard or seen anything about this? Dave aka the 'Chubby Ape'

    Bought a goldwing

I hate to say it, but went and bought a 94 goldwing. Iam selling my 84 venture.asking $2500.00 Does any one know a AWSOME website like this one for goldwing owners. I have to say so far I havent found one as good as this web site, and as helpful. I will be hanging around on this site as well, kinda hard to leave. ROBERT:322:
  9. Ok now I just got back from driving from Boston MA to Buffalo NY (around 1,100 miles) to visit the grandkids and family. Now on my trip I saw Harleys, Suzuki’s, Yamahas, and some Hondas. Now all in all it was a great ride no problems with cagers but can someone tell me what is the issue with Goldwing drivers? I mean I saw Harley drivers who were friendly enough and along with the rest but when it comes the Goldwing drivers I have my doubts they have a clue what riding is about. Now do these bike come with a gold plated sick they shove you know where before they get on or is it inserted automatically when they sit down or is it they are just upset at spending $25,000 on a bike? I pulled into a rest stop on the NYS thruway and there was a group of 6 or so and talk about a “DON”T EVEN THINK ABOUT PARKING NEAR US” look. And as they walked by you would have thought I was the black plague the way they ignored me. Now I may be wrong by classifying these as “all” Goldwing drivers but this is not the first time this has happened to me and I did not say or do anything to even be remotely considered out of line. The ride was great though no rain until I was on the last 45 minutes of the trip and I did 8 total fill ups and traveled just over 1,100 miles in 4 days. Went through around 25 gallons of gas and saw some nice sites along the trip. I had one nervous point when traveling across NYS I saw 2 deer running along and figured I should move over in case they changed their heading and that was out of the question there was a semi in the way so I slowed down and got past them with no issues but as a side note they did stop running just as I approached them and they did turn facing the highway but I did not stick around to see if they tried to cross.
  10. An almost new (1800 miles) burgandy 2006 Goldwing Motor Trike is replacing the Albino Rhino. This was a difficult decision for me, but overall safety took priority. I'll miss two wheels, but not having to wrestle with the Rhino to keep it up in certain slow, 2-up maneuvering situations will be a plus--not as young as I used to be! We tested it Saturday and brought it home yesterday. I'll still be hanging out here, though!
  11. Any of you Goldwing riders know of a good Goldwing forum I can direct my brother towards? He just bought our Dad's 85 GL1200 Limited Edition from him. Apparently our Dad doesn't fell he can ride it after he got his left leg amputated last fall. Maybe he's just looking for a 1st. Gen. in stead.
  12. Who sells a OEM replacement antennae for a 87' Royale? I have been watching Ebay...no luck! Is the Goldwing mast the same am/fm/cb ? Regards Dave
  13. A friend of mine is looking for something but he is not on the INTERNET amongst other things. He's looking for one of the US maps that you can mark for States Visited. He wants one that has the little glass jewel glued in for the state visited. Something small enough to mount on his Goldwing. I guess he had one on another bike he owned but can't seem to find one for this one. I have searched the INTERNET but can't seem to find one. I have seen them on Motor-homes etc but can't seem to find one small enough for the bike. Thanks, Jerry
  14. I've got a buddy here who wants to change from his cruiser to a touring bike. Right now he is looking at a gorgeous 2000 goldwing 1500 se and an '05 RSV (also mint). Both bikes have low mileage and are priced the same. He needs a nudge in one direction or the other so I told him I'd get on this board and ask those of you who have owned a 1500 to give your honest opinions in your comparison of these 2 bikes. It would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  15. Okay, here's a couple trivia questions for all you geniuses. For the answers, look way down at the bottom of this post. 1. How many old T shirts does it take to soak up 3 quarts of brand new motor oil from your nice clean garage floor? 2. When changing oil in your bike (well, at least if it's a 1994 Goldwing), if you don't replace the drain plug before starting to add new oil, will the oil run out of the drain hole: a.) faster than you can pour it into the fill hole b.) at the same speed as you pour it into the fill hole c.) no one really knows because you're so busy looking for old T shirts laying around the garage that you can't tell how fast it's coming out. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ANSWERS: 1.) Exactly 6. Well, maybe not exactly 6 but that's all I could find. So, I guess it coulda been 8. Maybe even 10. 2.) You should be able to guess the answer to this one. Disclaimer: these questions are only valid for the GL1500 Goldwing. And maybe only for the 1994 models. And possibly only if you are using Castrol 20w-50.....other oils may vary. Now we need a volunteer to try this on the Venture and see if the results are similar. Probably should have a volunteer for the 1st Gen 1200cc, the 1st Gen 1300cc, and the 2nd Gen. Oh, if anyone with a RSTD would like to join in the fun, have at it!!!
  16. :confused24:When got my 84 the last owner replace dhte battery with a sealed one and romoved the sensor. this week when my battery seemed to be going out i check it with my charger and got an error saying it had a bad cell. My brother had a new battery he bought but ended up replacing witha gell one along with a hight output genny on his goldwing, so whewn i took my battery out i found the sensor wire hidded and it still has a plug on it. I though maybe i could just replace the sensor. are they still available? or would i need to find one used? Ive never seen one on E Bay
  17. This diagram is in regards to the Yamaha Venture. It may or may not be applicable to other motorcycles. I believe it will also work for the Goldwing though. http://www.venturerider.org/headsets/index_files/headsetpins.jpe
