1. Just curious. I know that a few of you have gone over the the Goldwing side. Just curious how many we actually have now?
2. Hope you don't mind us drawing attention to it here in the watering hole but fear it may not be noticed in the "other bikes section" - Just listed in the classifieds. 93 goldwing trike. I know - It's not a venture but maybe someone here knows someone that wants a wing. 15oo/6. It's got a roadsmith trike kit - with easy steer. My wife needs to get rid of it to get a work truck (We are keeping the TD). Check out the classified and see if you have any questions.
3. Why most of you Die Hard 2nd generation switch to the Goldwing???
4. need some opinions on how much a 1991 Goldwing GL1500 Trike w/trailer is worth. the bike has 91K miles, has reverse and seems to be in great condition. everything appears to be working on the trike. this bike and trailer were just donated to our camp and we possibly will be selling it shortly. 1991 Goldwing GL1500 http://i48.tinypic.com/20sulft.jpg
5. I have a coworker that owns a 98 Goldwing. I was telling him about how I got the shop manual for my Venture from here in .pdf form. He isn't Internet savy, so I told him I would check the net for one for his bike. Before I search the Web, do any of you Goldwing owners already have the .pdf Shop Manual for a 98 Goldwing? craigr
6. we rode to bedford indiana today [saturday] . while eating and looking out to hwy 37 . i saw five ventures pass in a hours time. i havent seen that many ventures ever. my goldwing buddys always say iam the only one in indiana! nice to see im not alone. was any you?
7. So I went to check out the 03 Venture and too kit for a ride. The owner has a 92 Goldwing so he took me for a ride to follow him. A lot of curves etc I could not believe how nice it was!!!! Like I said I have owned a 01 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 classic, 3 different Honda VTX 1800 and a 94 Goldwing. This is a GREAT bike I know somw say it is op heavy but I did not think so. And as for the whine did not hear anything at all! It was a 250 plus mile ride back home and all I can say is I LOVE It!!!!!!!! The I bought the short windshield and the Sampson Fishtails mufflers I got around 45 miles per gal on the trip back. I never heard any of the whine the owner has a 92 GW with 93000 miles he said he could hear it but nothing I would think twice about! So from where I an now I'm one happy man!!!!!!!! http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s37/VictoriaVett/100_1686.jpg
8. Wouldn't believe it if there weren't pictures...

10. Saw this on another Venture site. Honda Motor Company announced its plans for the new 2009 GL-2000 Goldwing The new 2009 Goldwing will replace the industry-leading GL-1800 Goldwing which went into production in 2001. The 2009 GL-2000 Goldwing will feature a larger 2.0 litre (2000 cc) 6-cylinder engine matched to a new 6-speed transmission. Honda claims the new engine will produce 165 horsepower and 157 foot pounds of torque. "This new powerplant and transmission should provide the kind of power and torque Goldwing owners have come to expect" a company official says. With the new 6-speed transmission, the 2.0 liter engine turns only 2,500 rpm at 70 miles per hour. The new Goldwing will increase the safety of its riders with standard ABS brakes on all 2009 models. A rider airbag is also available as an option on the level 4 model. The 2009 GL-2000 will be offered in the following configurations: Standard features on all 2009 GL-2000 Goldwing models: - New 2000cc 6-cylinder engine with 6-Speed transmission - Linked ABS brakes (front and rear) - Dramatically improved suspension with adjustable pre-load front and rear - 6.9 gallon fuel capacity - Adjustable seat (can be raised/lowered up to 1.5 inches) and rider backrest can be moved forward/backward. - Adjustable windscreen (electronically adjustable is optional) - Cargo capacity has been increased to 45 liters per saddlebag and 65 litres for the trunk. - Heated handgrips and heated seat - L.E.D. tail/brake lights and lighted trunk spoiler - New instrument cluster includes speedo/tach/engine temp/voltage/ambient temp/gear indicator/tire pressure/trip computer (see below) - DC Accessory Outlet in dash glovebox - Trip Computer displays: Miles to Empty/Avg Miles Per Gallon/Current Miles Per Gallon -Intercom features improved audio quality and passenger volume/on/off switch -Honda Warranty 3-year Unlimited Miles (up to 4 year optional extended warranty) BASE MODEL - includes comfort package (heated handgrips and seat), ABS brakes front and rear, 85-watt 4-speaker stereo with MP3/iPod connector. COMFORT PACKAGE - includes BASE model features + electonically controlled windscreen, Homelink remote garage door opener, integrated anti-theft device. $20,499 PREMIUM PACKAGE- includes all comfort package features + 120-watt 4-speaker stereo with MP3/iPod connection/optional XM/SIRIUS radio/Bluetooth capability, Electronic tire pressure monitoring system, integrated NAVI navigation system with Bluetooth remote programming capability using MapSource and compatible laptop, integrated fog/driving lights, HID Xenon headlights. SAFETY PLUS PACKAGE - includes all PREMIUM features + Rider SRS Airbag restraint system, rear-end collision proximity alert system, electonically controlled cruise control. In addition, the completely re-designed Goldwing offers owners lower maintenance costs with easier access to regular maintenance areas such as air cleaner, oil drain plug, oil filter and oil dipstick. A quick-remove engine protector plate has also been added to guard the oil pan from potential damage caused my road debris. The new Goldwing is expected to appear in dealer showrooms in September 2008 and will be offered in the following colors: Pearl White, Pearl Yellow, Pearl Orange, Illusion Blue, Black, Titanium and Illusion Red.
11. Any of you ride a GL1500? I need to know, if someone can tell me, if Wal-Mart sells an oil filter that is compatible with the GL1500's. My dad has a 1996 GL1500, and hates to pay for the filters from the dealer, and I'm sure there are suitable replacements. Trying to search through Goldwing forums for "replacement oil filter" is like searching any oil related topic at any forum. Thanks in advance for any help.
12. Hi All, New member here. I currently ride a 84 GL 1200 and have done alot of work on it to bring it up to a reliable machine so I know all of the weak points to the Goldwing of those years. Can anyone tell me what the weak areas of the 86 or 87Venture 1300 model? The Goldwing is a great ride, how does the Venture measure up ?
13. OK - 'fess up! Who was at Big Meadows around noon on July 4? A PA license plate, nice 2nd gen, with a white Goldwing and matching trailer? I left you a little note - Ken
14. I love the bike but, is there any way to boost the performance of these bikes even a little? Most of the guys I ride with have the Goldwing 1800's and I fell like my bike is panting all the time to keep up.
15. Alan (hubby) and a friend finally had time to fit the Wedgetail Outrider (Voyager) on the weekend. It's not ready for me to ride yet, need to change handlebars and floorboards, and make holders for my elbow crutches yet--but we are getting there For those wondering what that is on my front wheel it's a leading link suspension. It was on for the sidecar, and an engineer told me to leave it on for the conversion. He has the (Voyager) kit on his Goldwing, so I guess he knows what he is talking about It moves the centre of the axle forward, rake angle changed too. Makes it like power steering when you turn
16. does anyone have a pic or diagram showing where the oil site glass is on an older Goldwing? I am trying to explain it to a co-worker and he has looked and can't find it. Unfortunately he didn't ride in today so I could actually take him out to the lot and show him. I know it's hard to find, so thought a pic would help. Thanks for any help.
17. Hi gang, I have a neighbor that stopped by yesterday and asked me if I wanted to buy is old goldwing, For the past 5 years I kinda have seen it parked in his garage and always told him that you need to ride that thing to keep the dust off of it. It has 42K on it and he say the carbs leak but starts, I see that it is in good shape , so ask how much?? He say's (5) I think and say $5,000.00 ??? He say's nope $500.00, my Question is how much are these going for these days? I am sure 500 is a pretty good deal and might pick it up this week to restore it a little , won't take much. but was wondering are the carbs on that year hard to work on? Carb's leak a little when running... What do you guys think? Thanks for any input. Jeff
18. A friend of mine called me this evening and asked if I could check the cb's standing wave on his 1994 GoldWing. Can someone give me an idea where the best place to locate the antenna cable and get to a connector?
19. Well hello to everyone! It has been awhile since being on the site. Those of you don't remember me, I was the reason for everyone using earplugs at Vogel!! LOL! Yes the loud pipes are finally gone, and after two years without a bike, Eck has convinced me that I was old enough" ha ha" for a different kind of motorcycle! Seriously, I rode his new goldwing and was instantly "sold" , so I had to have one! I will be at Vogel this year and am looking very forward to seeing everyone I remember and meeting new people too! Rest assured, the only noise I will be making this year will be coming from the radio or the CB.
20. A friend of mine has a 03 Goldwing and his wife wants to buy him some chrome , a luggage rack, and a spoiler with the led lights. I have been given the job to find these items and I need the help of the Goldwing owners , I know there are a few in here. I would like to find the best place and best price to get them. Thanks Craig
21. I stopped by the local Honda shop today to pick up some new gloves (50% off sale) and started looking at a 05 Goldwing ABS.Salesman almost had me sold on it if he hadn't tried to lowball me on my bike. Less than 21,000 miles, runs like a scalded cat. one small scratch on the right bag and some minor scratches on one of the bags from falling off at a low speed. He said he would give me $2650 on trade, but it was the way he said it. He said he had called his other (yamaha) dealer and they would give him $1200 for the bike and he had another $1450 that he could play with on the Goldwing. I counter offered him that I would KEEP my bike and he could take $1500 of the price of the wing. $13,285 plus TT&L he said no, my bike had to be in the equation. I saw him drooling over my bike but even at $2650 he was stealing it from me, and then IF he "had" $1450 to drop down on the bike, why would he go an extra $50 to make the sale and I would keep the VR.
22. I'll be arriving for MD on Fri evening and staying so far in Freebird's back yard, (as long as the neighbors don't mind a GoldWing). Could someone tell me how to get to Freebird's nest? www.Mic-Mutes.com Bill Morphy
23. Hello everybody, I know this has been covered... but I can't find it. I recently ran accross a how too or a thread on converting the RSV to a combined braking system. So the front and rear work together... Like they do on a Goldwing. Could someone send me info on this or post some links? Thank you Reaney in NH
24. My RSV is the first bike I've had that has a windshield and I'm constantly smelling/breathing exhaust fumes, pretty much at any speed. My wife days she can't smell anything from the back seat. I have an aftermarket shield that kinda slopes more vertically toward the top. The previous owner installed a Goldwing vent in it, presumably 'cause he was experiencing the same issue. Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas?
25. I found this little homemade trailer on E-bay, but don't want to bid on it if it is too heavy to pull. It was designed to be pulled by a goldwing 1500, so I feel fairly safe. Item # 320355058863
