  1. Ok, I'm finally done...finished the puppy pen and we are awaiting our new arrival this comming friday.....Thanks to member PP&J and Rawhide who are going to pony ...err, puppy express our new puppy to us....didn't realize how much not having a dog around the house effected us and our wellbeing...not to mention that Taters and I had to talk to each other more often since we lost our beagle...lol.... soon, the fun part of house breaking etc.... oh well, let the fun begin.....
  2. 5 in Chat right NOW... Like a swimming pool last in has to Streak!!! Join in the fun...
  3. Do any of you get into the fantasy bidding on the Barrett Auto Auctions? I have never done it before but did for a while yesterday. It is actually kind of fun. If you are the closest and faster bidder on one of the selected cars, you can win a 32 gig Ipod. If you are the highest total points of the day, you win a 32 inch LCD TV and if you are the highest points winner for the entire 4 day auction, you win a full entertainment center. I would never have the time to sit, watch and bid on close to 40 hours worth of the auctions but it was fun doing it for a few hours yesterday. I didn't win anything but was close enough on the 4 that I did bid on that I earned a good many points. Had I played all day and did as well as I did on those four, I would have been near the top in the daily standings. Kind of fun but time consuming. I love watching what those cars bring though and realizing that I would have been sitting on a gold mine had I hung onto my two '69 Camaros, my 74 Dodge Challenger, my 454 Chevelle SS, my 1970 Buick GSX 455, my '71 Chevy Super Cheyenne short/wide bed truck with factory tach dash and etc. and several other cars from the past. Also Eileen once had a '68 Mustang convertible...that would do very well also.
  4. Talked to Pioneer Motorsports and locked in the dates for the WNY mini rally for 2010...aug20th to the 22nd...check it out in the rally section and sign up in the calander if you can join us....lots of fun to be had with surprises along the way..Hope you can join us this year....
  5. Hey any facebook fun overhere? i like to add some of you guys as my friends. Here is my link: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=1112199705
  6. While I was working on my light bar adapter and wiring tonight, I noticed that my left signal light is acting wonky.. You know how the signal lights will blink fast when you have a dead bulb? Well, what happens with mine is that the signal light will work..... and then start going fast.. I tried the 4 way flashers and no worries there at all... but when ever I select the left signal light and leave it alone, not touching the bike at all.. it will eventually start flashing fast... I changed the bulb, pulled and tugged and pushed against all the wiring in that area and nothing shows up.. it will work fine.. then later when I engage the left signal light it most likely will do the fast flash.. Front and rear bulbs are working properly.. Is there something else I should look at? Flasher relay perhaps? Fun fun fun!!

    First ride of the year

Santa Claus brought my honey belated gifts - a nice first gear jacket and joe rocket gloves. Today between cold and rain we took a spin down the road. First ride of 2010 for us. A bit nippy. Met a HD rider with his main squeeze on the back. He yells out "Are we nuts or what?" I say, "Nah, not nuts. We are having fun." We wave and drive on. I did not twist the wrist and leave him far behind. It is the start of a new year, a time for peace and cheer all around.

This article is from one of my students. http://content.yudu.com/Atwiy/Riders/resources/index.htm?referrerUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ridersreview.com%2Findex.htm This was a really fun class. Some pics of me doing the demos. Rod
  9. Another big blew-it by the forecasters. I went to bed last night expecting to have all kinds of fun playing in the 8-14 inches of snow that was being predicted for the last week. All I heard on the news was about this monster storm coming, the Great White Death, gloom and doom, dogs and cats living together, ........... Live reporters scattered all over the area, a reporter at the salt piles, reporters by all of the plow trucks standing by, reporters at major intersections, ......... Well I woke up this mourning nice and early to have time to deal with the pinheads on the road for my 20+ mile commute, and when I opened the door to leave there was nothing, not a single bit of snow on any paved surface and Maybe a half inch on the grass, and I did not find any snow anywhere on the drive in to work! I realize that there were some people that got hammered like Madison WI with 17 inches down and another 6 expected with 40 mph winds just to keep it interesting. I feel cheated. I like snow. Its fun to drive in. Yes I am a little demented. OK rant over, I'll let everyone else get back to digging out.
  10. Thats what a guy told me at the Conawingo dam. While I was watching the eagles fly around at the lower parking lot. So...I had to go. I heard it was a kool bar setup for MC riders. Outside bar, horse shoes, bands etc. No problems from the locals. Not even dirty looks. The big chat on the lot was the goldwing and its airbags. Heard a HD guy say he would have one if he rode more or further...lol I liked the place, back in the day I could of had some big fun there.. The chopper almost backed into me when he was pulling out. If I had not yelled at him.[i was standing right next to the bike] He would have scartched his custom paint job..No doubt. Just me and the wing and a new triumph besides the HDs'
  11. Thinking about getting a Gopro camera. Can anyone tell me if it comes with the suction cup mount. One of the guys from our rally last year had one and we had a lot of fun with it. I snowmobile and hunt also so the possibilities would be enless.
  12. Here is our latest! This is Heaven Hill a local Louisville band that is now getting national air play http://wwww.myspace.com/heavenhill We have been given the gig to make a production video for TV and I-Tunes on their hit single "Going Down". We are going to shoot it in the old school style in the vein of early Motely Crue or Van Halen Videos. Should be a fun project. The only downside is it will be shot the same weekend as Don's Maintenance Day, so I'll miss yet another. I am hoping with their success we get some visability with this one on a national level. Anyway, this was just a spur of the moment fun shoot we did at a Derby celebration in Louisville where they were celebrating having the #1 requested Rock song in Louisville. Let me know if you hearing it in your market if your into Rock music. [ame=http://www.vimeo.com/4567852]Heaven Hill Live - Derby Jam on Vimeo[/ame] This is a a High Def Video so you can watch it stream in full 720p full screen.
  13. We have been going on rides with our new riding buddies, Eric and Joanne. Our son in law, and daughter. We are having so much fun. Here are a few photos of our little day trip to Metamora,Indiana. They had a coal burning steam engine there that day.

That way I can keep you all in line and behaving yourselves:rasberry:
  15. What fun plans do you have for the weekend? We will be missing Pork n the Pines, but for a good reason. We normally do a lot of riding with our 3 sons, but this summer has been so busy we haven't gotten to at all, so..... We are all heading east of the river (Mighty Mississipi) to the Kickapoo area to hit the following: Vernon Vineyards Bad Axe area Rockton (famous bbq chicken) Wild Cat Mountain State Park Bull's Den Bar (crazy barn out in the middle of nowhere turned into a fun bar Cheese Curds !!!! and staying at Soldiers Grove, WI at a place that has the best Bourbon Pork Tenders and generally riding back roads! Can't wait!!! So what are you doing?
  16. before I can put aside all the crap and head out for the Pork in the Pines. Promise to have enough fun for those who have found themselves in the position where they are unable to make it this year. Just heard the weekend weather forecast. Couldn't ask for better weather. We must be living right. No rain, temps in the 60-70's F during the day and 50-60 at night for those who feel they need to sleep. And Bubber's comments above couldn't say it any better. And for those who have come tho this thread for the first time... if you want to spend a weekend having the most fun one can have with their cloths on (well at least some keep their cloths on) check it out at www.porkinthepines.com See ya'all in two days.

  20. Headed for Colorado in the morning. Going to get an early start and leave about 6:00am. Meeting 2 other couples and are headed west. Plan on staying over at Norton KS. Saturday night and on to Colorado Springs on Sunday. After that down to New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and back to Missouri. Should be a fun trip, hope to take lots of pictures. So if you see someone on a charcoal gray Venture "I'm not lost, just not sure where I'm going" and I'm not late.
  21. Check out my square dance song for trikes on your "Fun & Friviolous" posting :dancefool:
  22. Cabin 19 should be available at Vogel. I had it reserved for Thursday,Friday, and Saturday nights.Circumstances have changed and were doing a family outing that week. Have fun whoever gets it.
  23. Got a little "irked" with the hubby at the begining of last week. Hadn't talked to him (which is darn near impossible for me)for 5 days cuz I was mad as a wet hen at him....so I'm leaving work Friday wondering how I'm going to make it through the weekend without spoutin off, when I get a call. "What are ya doin?" "Going home" "Can you have your bag packed in 10 min?" "Yes" "Alrighty then" he says..... We take off, 3 hours later end up at the Kickapoo area Friday, Sat and Sunday. Had the best time, beautiful riding, great back roads, great food, got to know some really fun people, ice cold beer and a fun place to stay. Had the time of our life!! Guess I'll stick with him another 30 years!
  24. Would everyone going to Freebirds' maintenance day like to take part in a fun project?:puzzled: I was thinking of replacing my wallpaper on the computer, and thought (careful!) a photograph of everyone attending the MD would make a terrific one:thumbsup2: So when I wish I was there enjoying your company I can look at the computer and see your smiling faces, and everybody waving to Aussie Annie:banana::banana:So what'd'ya think--is it do-able HUH,HUH
  25. Hey Guys, I think some you might be interested in see what a RSV will do on the track. But for some past history, a friend of mine got me interested in this a couple of years ago as a means to improve my riding skills. However I didn't start out on the Venture. I decided to buy a smaller bike (Ninja 650R) for 2 reasons (1) a starter bike for my 21 year old neice and (2) a track bike for me until I got her through the MSF training, her license and some coaching from me. However number 2 didn't come about, so I kept it for a bike to take to a track school for 4 sessions. And I'll tell you right now this is the most fun I have ever had on 2 wheels and I've never learned more than I did at the track than I have in any other of my other training and personal experiences. But after 4 times on the 650, I felt it was time to see if all I had learned would translate to takeing my bigger bike on the track. So I took her up to the track, preped her and then took her out. At first everyone was giving me that look like how is that big bagger going to do in the corners and how long will it be before he goes off the track. Well by the end of the day I had made a believer of all of them that this big bike could handle the corners and that I did not hold up anyone by parking it in the corners. Now I couldn't get the lean angle that I could on my 650 because of the ground clearance, but I was able to take it as far as the bike would let me and I didn't grind anything but the plates on the floor boards. Now I will admit that the suspension on my 02 Midnight is anything but stock, with Race Tech cartridge emulators, heavier fork springs, a Works shock, my Leveling Links, and a 130/90 front tire, not to mention 4 piston calipers on the front brakes (to slow me down). So I'm not sure I would have done this with a box stock Venture and had as much fun. So attached are a few pictures of the day, Rick
