I'm getting a little oily on the bottom of my speedo cable. What could be leaking from that? Any particular fix suggested? Here's a pic. http://db.tt/LkvwHh7f

Has there been a certified "fix" for the Royal Star Whine? I understand some have worse than others. Later models seem to have it better. Synthetic oil helps. But has there been a source identified (clutch basket is thought to be the cause) and a fix? Saw this in an earlier thread: After 3 trips to my local dealership to see about an I-basket swap, the dealership felt it was a final drive (rear end) issue and not a clutch issue. Two trips and a call to Yamaha yielded that there was a "message" out about improperly installed spacers in the final drive housing. Mine was found to have this issue. The tech pulled mine apart, found the grommets that hold the spacers were not seated correctly, liberally lubed everything and put it all back together. I have only been riding it for about 150 miles since the "fix", but so far all the whine and chirp is gone. Wondering if there was something to this.... Needless to say, my 2006 has the whine bad. Pretty much whines in all gears if there is a load of any kind on the motor. Love the bike EXCEPT for this. It's something I don't want to live with...might have to get a different bike if I can't come up with a solution.

Does anyone know how to repair a chip off a colored porcelain sink? Or a contractor type that does this type of repair if possible? I contacted Home Depot and they have a fix kit for white but not colored. Or maybe I can get the paint shop to mix a pint and mix it with the white fix kit if possible.

Does anyone know of where you can get replacement studs for a pillow top seat (drivers) for a 2003 RSV? Or maybe have a homemade solution to fix them? I'm talking about the threaded mounting studs that bolt the seat on to the frame.

I have an 83 Venture with a second gear problem that I bought really cheap to fix and restore. The problem is I do not have a title for it. The VIN is clean but I don't know who the last legal owner was since the bike has changed hands a few times with no title. With today's privacy laws, I have no way to find out either and my state will not allow me to title it without the "owner" signing over the title. So I'm am considering is it worth buying a bare frame with good clean title and swapping EVERYTHING to a new frame? Since I'll have the bike torn down anyway to fix the trans. Obviously the 83-85 is essentially the same bike. How about the later 87 model 1300? Are the frames the same? All said and done, I think I can fix the trans and new frame and end up with about $1000 invested. Worth it?

Well I seem to be down to the small things the make me twitch My 84 has a the digital lcd clock in the cluster. It works, no buttons are stuck. I am able to set the time with no problem. I have power when I shut the key off & short term she seems to be keeping time. I set it two days ago to match the clock on my GPS which is also the same time as my Honda750. Today I happened to look at it and it is 3 hours faster that the GPS & the Honda, which are still in sync. Is there something I should check to fix this or is it basically useless?

I've worn a hole through mine and wondered if anyone is still making these. I think the guy in FL that I got mine from is no longer making them. If no one has any ideas then I will probably bring my old one to a leather place and have them fix it or use it as a template to make a new one. If I had one made would there be any intrest in this.

Well, it looks like I will finally get to ride a Super Tenere'. My younger brother just bought one today (yeah, the same brother that had me fix the Shadow). I expect to put a few hundred miles on it during our trip to Alaska. RR

The Drain Pipe has no room for me to seperate at the leaking joint. At the Bottom the Drain Pipe goes into the cement floor. Above the Drain Pipe has a T for the Vent and the horizontal drain connection to the sink/dishwasher. This drain connection goes through the 2 x 6 and so the drain Pipe hole has absolutely no give in it. So see attachment for my solution. 1st picture is the leak at the 1st picture at the point where the vertical pipe goes into the curve piece. 2nd picture is my plan of the fix. By so doing it provides me some give so I can make all the connections. Anyone see any issue with the solution?

Broke my master cylinder clutch... no no not where it would be easy to fix by getting a new lever and installing... The lever broke off WITH part of the master cylinder clutch... aka master cylinder 2 ala BikeBandit and WHEEW is it Expensive... umm so anyone have a spare laying around that doesnt cost almost 300 or know if a welder can fix that piece? Im looked at pinwheel and ebay as well... ALSO if anyone knows what years will fit or if a road star master clutch would work? Thanks all in advance...

I have a 06 RSV (out of warranty)with the notorious Clarion radio / cb unit. In the past I had trouble with radio freeze which has been mentioned on this forum numerous times. I finally performed the fix recommended on here by disconnecting all radio plug connections, cleaning with contact cleaner and applying dielectic grease. Eveerything seemed to work fine from that point on until recently. When I key the TX lever I do not see the red light appear on the controller indicating you are transmitting. This was confirmed by my ridding buddie who has a J&M CB on his bike. I thought it was odd that I had not heard the large number of truckers lateley talking trash back and forth. All other functions of the radio appear to be working fine. Does anyone have experience with this type of problem? I really need the CB to communicate with riding partner. Just do not want to spend the big bucks for a used unit from Pinwheel if it is a reasonable fix.

Hi Im new here. I just bought my first bike and have noticed a noise from the right hand side of the bike. I happens when Im in neutral with the clutch handle released. If you squeeze the handle it will go away. I rode from Lansing to St Ignace yesterday and it seemed to get a litle noisier than it has been for the last couple of weeks. I did take it in to my local dealer and they told me it was the clutch basket rattling and not to worry about it. Well as of the 28th of this month the warranty is over on my bike. Well I am kind of worried about it. Any help on this would be great. Do i force them to fix something they cant fix or should I ride it:mytruck1:until this happens. Oh this is a 2006 Yamaha Venture 1300.
