I was wondering if anyone knows of a site or forum that tells which parts and accessories are interchangable between motorcycle models? Such as what Harley parts fit the RSTD or Venture. I know some parts/ accessories in the Yamaha line fit each other. It would be a big help if this info were in one place. If anyone has mixed or matched parts please let us know. Thanks

well as i move forward will getting my bike roadworthy i'm researching seat improvements for my wife and i. i've been searching all over the site and see some info, but i thought i just start a thread to streamline the ideas. i have the 83 bike and it seems the rear seat is narrower than say some of the newer ventures. will the seats from the 86 1300 fit onto my 83 1200?? will they be more comfortable?? the rear seat looks like its wider and i think that will help my wife. i'm hoping to run 500 mile days with her and want to make it as nice as possible for her. i'm also interested in a back rest for myself and some kind of arm rests for the rear. let me know what works. i'm hoping to find some more economical comfort versions before i'd go all out russel day if you follow, but let me know what you guys think will help. i've seen some of the higher back rests on the mkII with little arm supports... will they fit onto my trunk or do i need the whole trunk and would that fit onto my first gen? thanks

My 83 rotors are too large in diameter for the r6 upgrade. (Found 89 forks and r6 calipers) Any recommendations on rotors that fit the 83 wheel but have small enough diameter. Current rotors are 297x8.

I know for the most part snow is an unwelcome sight and dreaded. But....It's the 16th of January and we could still see our lawn, not spots or parts but the entire lawn, flower beds etc... For those of us who live in the desert areas, snow is a necessity in order to have water during the rest of the year, so, today the snow came. I had to put the bikes in their winter spots in the garage so I could fit both cars in the garage and I actually used the snow blower (I started it in Nov. to make sure it was running and ready) But for a short time, I welcome the snow to the Intermountain region and look forward to the spring. So I finally decided to bite the bullet and put LEDs for the '06 RSTD on my list for the fat guy in the red suit. He came through, and became the proud owner of the Custom Dynamics 100 LED tail light and a Turn Signal conversion kit. My need for immediate gratification meant that I installed the tail light first.....and man that thing is bright! My next step, and where my disappointment started, was to try out the turn signals. I'm no Rocket Surgeon, but I figured this was going to be fairly simple. Well, after 30 minutes of trying to figure out why the front LEDs would not fit properly, I tried the rears and found the same problem. They had a diameter about 1/16 of an inch too large. My disappointment drove me to send an email to CD, and I was surprised to get a response on Christmas Day. Although Dave from CD said they should fit, I could find no way they could be mounted without screwing up the weather seal or mounting them cockeyed in the lens. Alas, this morning I shipped them back to CD for a refund and am now looking for alternatives. Anyone else encounter this problem? Alternative sources?

I got some filters from my Dad after he died. I'm not sure if they fit anything that I got. I tried to cross reference but didn't get anywhere after 90+ minutes. How do I find out if the filters that I have fit the vehicles that I own? Got filters: Fram: PH3600, PH2, PH9A, Motorcraft FL-820S How do I find out if I have vehicles to match these filters?

OK, I've heard some remarks about VR.Org being an Eating Club with a Riding Disorder. Wondered if anybody has been watching 'Hairy Bikers' on the HISP cable channel. They ain't riding Ventures, but would fit in here really well..... Even the wife get's a kick out of them, and I find myself laughing.... a lot.... My kinda folks...

I've been watching Craigslist off and on to see what pops up for a Motorcycle Work/lift Table. I get a lot of listings for plane ol' MC Jacks when searching. It got me to thinking.... again.. Why do manufactures of quote 'MC Jacks' make them where they all need an adapter to fit the frame of a bike. Why can't they just build the jack with adjustable frame pads, especially if they're going to label them MC Jacks?? Maybe they should call them NOT MC Jacks??

lost one of mine of two and can't buy as a part; IT's a J&M full-face headset, part # 218127. If I can't find one will use some foam cut to fit the hole! LOL. Thanks all! Jack Z

Not that kind, the pathetic one on the bike. I am sure it has been discussed before but I want to upgrade and am looking at Stebel nautilus or Wolo Bad Boy as they seem to be the closest fit. Any opinions (silly question) as to which is best and easiest fit?

I know, I know. Aren't we all. BaggerShield recently released a new design to fit the Stratoliner Deluxe and we have a 2nd design coming out for the RSV in a few weeks. I'm looking for one of each bike in the Minneapolis, MN area to use as models for product pictures and initial fit up for these new BaggerShield designs. There is something in it for you. First volunteer to send me a PM gets to keep the BaggerShield they will be modeling. The year doesn't matter on the Stratoliner Deluxe but the Venture needs to be a 99 or newer. I'll be offering the same deal to the first gen guys as soon as that design is ready. Should be this fall sometime. Thanks in advance
