84 venture running rough

Hello fellow riders, hope everyone doing fine. Just wondering if anyone could help me out. This is the problem took bike to work one day and I had to stay overnite, during that evening there was a heavy rain storm. So the next morning got bike started and drove off. then the problem started. First I noticed that the tach does not register until I really goose the gas, it seemed when I slowed down the bike would run rough and almost stall. Ran fine when it reached 55mph or better. If anyone could guide me so I can get riding again thank. -
Greetings, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have a 86 Royale. I have been noticing lately when i goose the throttle their is a rattleing noise seems to be coming from underneath, or when I am going through the gears I hear it also. Checked bolts, fluids all ok. It is more noticable on the left side. Other then that it runs fine. Am thinking of going to Las Cruces in a couple of weeks . I was wondering if it is something I should be concerned with or if it could wait till I returned. Thank you . bossman:confused24:

I took my 83 Standard out for a short ride last night and the turn signals just stopped working. The lights and the indicator do not come on at all. I checked the fuse and its fine. My hazard lights work as well as everything else electrical is fine. I suppose I need to give in and buy a service manual for this thing. I have the pdf manual for the 1300 that someone here was kind enough to send me a while back, but I'm not sure if the componets are the same, as well as the wire colors etc. Here are a few questions I could use some help on. My bike is scheduled to get state inspected for license renewel next week, so I'm in a bit of a jam to get these turn signals working. Does the 1200 Standard have a self canceling device? Is there a relay wired between the switch and the flasher unit? Where is the flasher located? Electical troubleshooting is generally one of my strong points, I'm just not sure what componets this bike has and where the heck are they? Any help mucho appreciated! Tim -
I have an 03 RSV. When the engine is cold, it feels like I am trying to start out in 2nd or 3rd gear. I have to rev it up pretty good to keep it from stalling out when I'm letting out the clutch. After it warms up, it seems to be fine. It got a lot worse after I changed the oil. Does anyone have any suggestions on why it could be doing this?

Wife and I went for a ride today. Stopped a half hour from home and filled the tank. Went out a little later to put the bike away and no gas. I have checked the lines on the filter and fuel pump and they appear fine. Then I checked the main feed line coming from the tank to the fuel pump and it seems fine. The line coming off of the reserve tank appears fine. The overflow tube is dry at the end. I see no gas on the ground and I do not smell any gas and the wife didn't smell any while riding. Everything I have checked seems fine. I haven't removed the tank yet. What haven't I checked or where do I go from here?

I have a 1990 VR that I was getting ready for a nice road trip. Turned on the key and started checking all lights, turn signals, horn, etc. Everything functioned as it should until I tried the hazard lights. They always have functioned just fine in the past. Now, this time, they are "dead". Turn signals work just fine, front and back, both sides, but hazard lights won't come on at all. Anyone have an idea where to look to make repair ? I looked for a broken wire or loose plug in that maze behind the headlight. I checked the hazard light plug and switch. Where is the "flasher" located. Everything looks fine. HELP !!!! Thanks. A Newbie to this site with a recent purchase of a 87 Venture Royale with only 55K kilometres (32K miles) on the clock and in fine shape. On a ride yesterday, my headsphone/speaker switch failed with it in the speaker position. I did some disassembly last night and got to the point where I found the small micro-switch soldered into the audio control board. The switch has movement but the internal connections seem to be gone since the LED light indicating the position does not illuminate either. Does anyone have experience with replacing these switches? Can it be done or am I looking at trying to replace the whole audio control module? Alternatively, maybe the switch is fine and the problem is a frayed wire/loose connection elsewhere . Anyone had thiis problem before? Thanks Ron -
Okay, so after only 6 months I've finally given in to the wife and bought a new helmet so I can hook up MY headset. Her's works fine, but I can't get mine to x-mit. I'm fairly sure it's going to be something little I'm missing, but I need HELP!
