John's (and Dianne) mother passed away on the 6th of June. Details below. I would ask for prayers for the family during this difficult time and for safe travels for friends and especially John's brother who has a far distance to get here. DOWNTON, Marie Peacefully, with family by her side on Wednesday June 6, 2012 at the Brampton Civic Hospital at the age of 78. Beloved wife of the late Harvey (1989). Loving mother of Rick (Elaine), John (Dianne), Michael (Noel) and Chris (Stella). Cherished Grandma of Sheri, Jamie , Bailey , Holly , Ryan, Adam and Madison. Devoted Great-Grandma of Callum , Molly and Malakai . She will be missed by many other family members, close friends and all who knew her. The family will receive friend on Sunday June 10, 2012 at the Scott Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel", 289 Main N. Brampton (905 451 1100) from 1 - 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salvation Army or the Humane Society. Brad t's mother passed away tonight. Don't know any details, Rhonda ask to pass it on to you guys as she couldn't get on the computer. I would ask for prayers for the family.

I spoke with Ponch today, he sounds like he is doing pretty good, still having problems with his eyes, so said he doesn`t get on the site very much as it hurts to read. He asked about some of the folks on here, but has a problem remembering everyones handles, but I know he misses each and everyone of this fine Family. He is still going to OT, and seems to be doing very good with all that they have him do. Just wanted to let ya`ll know, Please continue to keep Dave and Kathy in your prayers. Thanks, Kreg

well the day after i sold my bike. my 80 year old aunt the only family left on my fathers side. had a problem breathing. after going down to the ER she was rushed to peoria . when after many tests and xrays . she was found to have a golf ball size tumor on one lung and a tennis size on on the other. they did a pet scan for the whole body. and she has cancer. they give her any where from 4 to 6 months. she has out lived 3 of her children. the oldest one is still alive and he,s in his early 60,s. i have two aunts left on my mothers side. one is in a home and has dementia? she forgets who i am and calls me sometimes by my dead brothers name. the other aunt has nothing to do with us. after we told her she should go see her sister. and that we where mad that she could not even bother to call or come to my brothers funeral 5 years ago.. las vegas and losing 12 grand was more important. so im sorry to say. i wont talk to her. looks like the family line is slowly going away. as for the hack family. i have a daughter. no children. so the hack family name kind of ends with me. im the last hack son. but i guess if my daughter has children some of the hack blood remains?

Looks like I have to put the old girl up for sale soon. As of today, I just cannot see me riding it again. It has tons of extra accessories and its been a real blast. Ill make a decision by the end of the day after I talk it over with my family.

I realize this is a huge thing to ask of anyone but I am going to make this to the point. I am in Indiana and my oldest brother is in Eugene Oregon. He is in ICU right now and have heard various things in regards to his condition including doctors aren't sure if he is going to make it. My parents have asked me to stay put as my parents, my brothers 2 daughters and their families have already gone out there and mom says too many people wouldn't be good for him. But if I get a call that says the entire family should be there I want to get there ASAP. If I can help it I don't want to deal with 30 layovers to get to him that commercial airlines from what i remember seem to make everyone do on long flights. Thanks. Jerry

I just found out that the scum from westboro baptist church are here in Newnan to disrupt the funeral service of Capt. Nicholas Whitlock USAF. I particitpated in the arrival at the airport and then stood in line at church to Honor Capt. Whilock. Now the scum, and thats the worst that I can say on here being its a pg site are here to disrupt and try to disgrace his name, his family, and his country by spewing their filth as close to the church as they can. I was unable to attned and maybe that is best, because I would have a hard time containing myself from confronting them. They need to go back to kansas and lack themselves in their compound and rot!! Rant over!!!:soapbox: On the other hand, they don't realize who the family is they are taking on, the Whitlock family is very well know and connected in Coweta county. They practically founded it and have had someone in the family running it for a long time. I am feeling that if they really piss them off, they would have a really hard time getting out of the county. I was told by a capt on the local police dept and a PGR member, that the 92 year old grandfather can wield a mean cane and isn't afraid to use it. I will see tonite on the news if they decided to show up. Or some of our locals could take matters into their own hands, and everyone would look the other way I am sure.....Capt. Whitlock was a 2 sport all-star at one of the local high schools, an Eagle Scout, and regarded highly by everyone in this small Ga. town.

I met bongobob and his wife today on there way down to go on a cruise. It is always nice to put a face with names of the Venturerider family and I hope to meet more of you.I should have taken pics but it wasn't on a post- it note so I forgot.... Tom

We spent Christmas on a 8 day trip to sunny FL had record temps and thought 61 was cold till we returned home to the snow. The best part was spending a family vacation with the whole family the kids being 18 and 21 I know this won't happen as often from here on out it was tuff to pull this off with everyones schedules now. Stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge I love the Disney Resorts O8

As I always do, I look to you, and wish you a Happy Birthday, for this is the reason we celebrate this day. 2011 years ago today you came into this world, and forever changed it. I also want to thank you, thank you for all the blessings I have today, all the people here on this tiny website that make my life much more full. I ask that you continue to bless them, and my family with them. These people are the family I have chosen for myself, and many of them are as kin to me as my own flesh and blood. Officially, Mike and I have been homeless the last 18 mons. However we've spent the time couch surfing and paying our way, though griping alot at the circumstances it's put us in. I'm not asking anyone here for money or a place to stay so let us be clear about this. What I am asking is help locating a place to live. With room mates if needed. Ist preference would be somewhere in Central Georgia because Mike has a job and goes to school here. However we can relocate if we must, we'll just need help. Usually one turns to family in times like this. However Mike's family aren't able to help us right now, nor do we wish to worry and burden his Dad so soon after his heart attack and bypass surgery. So I'm turning to the next closest thing to family. You guys! I'm sitting here numb screaming inside not this again. This will be the 4th move in the last 18mons! I know y'all can brainstorm ideas as a group. Technically we'd qualify for low income housing but the waits are years long and I don't have that kind of time. I have 45 days from today to find a place in which to move. Please help me.

There is a friend of mine that is also a member here that needs prayer for his wife and family. Without going into details, she is having some complications. He may speak up later and give details. Please lift his wife up for healing and also the rest of the family. Thanks all.

My co-worker and friend and brother in the Lord, Philip Howard, is need of prayer for his family. His son Ben Howard (20 yrs old) wrecked his four wheeler ATV yesterday afternoon and had to be flown to the UK hospital in Lexington,KY. He is in critical shape and may be paralyzed from his chest down. He is to be operated on tomorrow.The young man is a good Christian boy and that is very good. He is in need of prayer and please remember his family also. This is very devastating news to me and all those I work with. We are a close nit group that work together at the State Highway Department. We spend many hours working together and watching out for one another as we do a dangerous job, especially through the winter months. Please remember us all in prayer as we all pray for Ben and his family. Fuzzy -
three days ago my best friends daughter had a grand mal seizure. she suffered from these since she was 8 years old. well she had a bad one and her heart stopped as well. they shocked her and flew her to st cloud MN they cooled her down and placed her in a induced coma ...today they tried to warm her up. and there was no response. her brain and body shut down. she passed away. she was only 34 years old . i am verry sad as i dont have the money to travel up there for the funeral service. but i would like to ask for a few prayers for her family . me and her family where verry close. they even took me in when i was homeless. so you can see how bad i feel. thanks james

well its not for me this time. but kind of. early today my daughter Amber had to rush her husband my son in law to the hospitial. he woke her up screamming for help. he was on the bathroom floor verry sick and verry weak. i will give you some info on justin. justing is 29 years old and suffers from a defect of the heart this runs in his family. last year justin had a new heart put in. he has fought for his life and to keep a promise to marry my daughter. and he kept that promise. they where married this may. justin is the love of my daughter. they where high school sweethearts who broke up once then got back together. he is a fine young man. who tries to work as much as social security will let him. yes he is considerd dissabled. i allways pray for Amber and Justin. as my daughter is only 30 and yes sometimes i fear that she could become a widow at an early age. due to Justins health problems. so far i have not heard back from here and im on pins and needles here. they live in MN and im about 8 hrs or more away and to darn broke to make a mad dash up there. but if i get the call to come i will do every thing in my powers to get there. sometimes i hate being so far away but Amber and Justin have a huge family up there in MN so i know he will have fine folks around him. please excuse my spelling and typing. im just a nervous wreak right now thank you james aka oldgoat -
I go in tomorrow morning at 6:15 am to get a plate put in my shoulder, I hope it all works out and I can ride again soon. The whole accident has been a nightmare for me but I love my VR family they have been great. TOM

Hey All: Wanted to extend a BIG Thanks to all of the members here who helped with my posts over the last month or so...Leaving tomorrow AM for South Dakota (1600 miles one way). Did a lot of pre-trip prep to my 06....Wiring for the Trailer...Had a weird running light issue that Freebird covered....Have to say....Followed every bit of input....Now...Just have to hit the road and make it happen...Decided to do a Blog for the family to follow, and decided to post here if anyone is interested....
