There are many things wrong with this video (lack of gear, dangerous stunts) but it is a beautiful representation of why we ride motorcycles, and why we enjoy the friendship and companionship of those we ride with. There is also some awesome photography and scenery. One of my best friends passed away suddenly Thursday. He was told only 2 weeks ago that he had lung and brain cancer while being treated for a bad cold at the hospital. The doctor told him that he may have up to a year left but only made 2 weeks. The bummer was no one knew but his wife, he denied anything was wrong and kept saying he hoped the cold would clear up so he could stop coughing. His way of dealing I guess. It was bad to have to say goodbye while he was lying in the casket. Makes one realize just how quick any of us could be gone. He was 73 and only retired 6 months ago. I tried for years to get him to quit so we could do some traveling in our RVs but he always said he would when he got more bills paid off. All I can say is if you can quit and enjoy life do it while you can still enjoy it, I know I am, my house is going on the market this spring and as soon as it sells you will see the wife and I passing you somewhere on the highway while we are visiting all the states. That is my goal anyway. Sorry for the rant but needed to vent a little. Merry Christmas to you all and I hope we all see the new year.

If you do, you might want to check out Buffalo's Wild Wings tomorrow night. My son's "cover" band (he's the drummer and this is one of several bands he's in, including jazz, country, show, etc.!) will be performing there. You can eat, drink, and enjoy some of your favorite music. It's on the other side of the world for me, but I'm going to try to make it and hope to see you there! Terry

Well, been driving wings for 25 years...a 79, 80 and still have my 82. Stumbled over a deal on a 2000 venture i couldn't pass up so now I am a venture man. i do enjoy riding it. Has some loud pipes so may quiet it down a bit. Other than the small intermitent "whine" and the speedo off by 12mph I enjoy the bike.

OK I am leaving the Peoria, Il area Tuesday Morning the 21st to ride up to St Paul, MN to reconnect with a sister I have not seen in 31 years. I was wondering if anyone can suggest roads to ride up that way that are great for riding. I am planning on leaving around 6:30 am and do not need to be there until around 7:00 pm so want to enjoy my ride up. Doesn't have to be exactly the best way but want to see the sights on my way up and back. I will be returning Thursday the 23rd. Anyone not doing anything and want to ride a little bit let me know where to meet you and you and I can ride a ways up before you have to turn around. Any info will be great. Thanks Rick

I decided last week to resign from the US Military Vets MC, and did just that this morning. It was the hardest thing I've done in the last 10 years. I have been with the club for 7 years, and for 4 of those years as an officer. I had the comfort of knowing that there are those in the world who enjoy motorcycles, and the friendship that goes with spending time with others with similar goals and interests. I think I've done the right thing for me, and will be able to devote my riding time to just me and my beloved wife Looie.

I just thought I'd pass this along for any of you VR riders who just love to enjoy your cruise control. Over a month ago I replaced my throttle cables; still a little stiff. Wrench and I decided to replace the cruise control cables as well. POINT: it too him over 3.5 weeks to find them, so they are getting scarce. Mine cost me a little less than $63. At 71 years and on an 86 not sure I'll now buy a spare set. HOWEVER: the cruise just climbs up hills without any of those familiar 'drops.' I have no idea how long that will last, but for now I'll enjoy it! Meanwhile, off Tuesday with dogman (Dave) who is driving to Ft Collins, CO, from Toronto, Canada. We will be taking 14 W off I-25 past FC, to Cameron Pass (10,276 Ft), to Steamboat Springs, to Glennwood Springs; There will be an overnighter there, with Dave in his trailer camper and me in a motel. Then we split as he heads to Los Vegas where his wife is flying in for their vacation, and I head back home. That is, IF I last that long! LOL JackZ aka DePreach -

I am selling my bike for 3K. Its an 85 VR with all the trimmins with 39,000 mi. on it. I love it, but i want something that more suits my age, i'll enjoy a new venture when i have the time and money to enjoy one. Right now, I'm keeping it in the family and getting a V-Star. 3K is alot, so you can tell how much i want to sell it. I'll probably be enjoying this bike for awhile longer!
