So my 88 VR will be parted and sold to the best of my ability, as posted in the aftermarket TCI thread... It has a lot of chrome parts and extras on it. I was thinking about hosting a 1 day pick'n-pull for anyone who wants to come and 'vulture' it. this way the buyer can assist in removing the part as to not allow me to cause any damage attempting to remove it. If anything good is left I'll sell on ebay for what I can get it for or on this forum and scrap the rest. Don't want to spend the next 6 months on ebay.. Parts will still be sold indiviually but I'm hoping everyone will be fair about prices. I'm not looking to get rich by any means, just put a fraction of the $2k back in my savings... Of course, this could be a completely bad idea... Any thoughts? -
Well folks, I've had my Zumo 550 listed in the classifieds for a couple of weeks now. I think I've had one inquiry so unless somebody is interested within the next day or so, I'll be putting it on Ebay.

Demands of the new job have been such that I've only been able to log a few hundred miles over the last two years. Alas I hate to be paying insurance and watching the beautiful machine sitting. I've listed it on eBay - but also put it in the classifieds here. I'll drop $200 for any member that may be interested. If you bid & win on eBay for less I'll knock off the $200 from that if you're a member too. It's a 2003 RSV (the great red color!) with 29,250 miles and in great shape. Hope the job will leave a bit more free time in the near future. Perhaps just in time to get a third gen;-) Until then I'll be stuck in a cage or an airplane most of the time. For anyone that might be interested, there is a 1984 engine available for $199 on eBay. It's only too bad that the shipping costs almost as much as the motor! There is a Hopnel tank bib for the RSV on ebay. Its "sold" by big bike parts. I need this item but it wouldnt arrive in time before we leave for Potato Creek. Actually there are several available through various sites once I googled them. Is anyone willing to buy the thing for me, take it to Potato Creek and I would pick it up there and hand over the cash. Its around 55 bucks. Thanks

For those that are interested I am selling my 83 on Ebay. It has the fuse box upgrade and comes with the headlight upgrade (not installed). I had it painted last year and based on comments I think it looks pretty slick. Has good Metzler 880s on it. Not perfect by any stretch, but should be a good value for someone. Lots of chrome and lights added. If you know someone it should make a great tour bike for a great value for someone. Tried to put it on this site in the classifieds and submitted it twice but it has not shown up. Thanks, Bob -
I am planning or replacing the trans gears in my 83, Muffinman told me to get an 86 or later and its a direct swap. Does anyone have one they would be willing to part with. I can get one on Ebay, but would much rather deal with someone I can trust.

For those who have thrown a leg over a Honda Valkyrie Interstate how would you compare it to the RSV. I've seen a few go pretty cheap on ebay.

What is the differance in the mount for the Venture and the Royal Star. I may end up with the wrong one off of ebay, my mistake.

I have a whole set of fenders, wheels, side covers and tank plus alot of misc. parts off my 96 Royal Star. I have another set I had custom painted and don't need these now. They are blue and white. The tank is new and has a decal I designed on it. Before I put this stuff on EBay I thought I would let the club know. I will sell it all for $375 plus freight. For some reason it seems that when people post links to an item on ebay, they do not work anymore. Not sure when this started, maybe a month ago or so.... Clicking on the link just takes me to the ebay home page. I have tried this on several links posted on this site, plus I have tried it on both of my computers at home and on my computer at work. In addition, I have tried it with IE8, Firefox, and Chrome browsers....same thing. Are others experiencing this? Here is a sample. I came across this First Gen while surfing ebay this morning. I thought I would pass the info along because frankly, if I cant buy it, I'd rather see someone who loves and appreciates Ventures pick it up before someone buys it just because the price is low for a "like New" cruiser. The pics are amazing, the listing says the bike has under 3k original miles on it. It just might be thinking (scary thought aye?) but has anyone come up with an alternative to the controls that the 1st gen has? Let me go deeper. Spending time on momma's CB750, the controls can get fairly aged just like some of ours. So, those forum members started using some newer XJ/XS Yammi controls that they were able to wire up, function and look great. Every once in a while I cruise ebay a bit. Today I noticed some chrome second gen controls with what looks to have what we have minus the choke. They do look nice. All the 1st gen controls on ebay are complete crud. So, back to my question, will this work? I am no electrician at all and wiring diagrams make my stomach queasy. Are the bar sizes the same? -
