I do believe I would take it all apart and sell every piece if I could get the prices being noted on ebay. I would then buy me another 1st gen, a 2nd gen and pay my house off. I have never sold anything on ebay, so I don't know the particulars, but does it cost anything to list something if it does not sell? I am seeing things like $164 for one mirror off an 87, and we aren't even talking new here. I am also seeing many parts that most just throw or give away because there is so little need for them with outragous prices on them. Normally, when I am surfing Venture parts on ebay, I always go "auction only" and "ending soon". Usually this sorts out most of this stuff, but being bored at lunch here at work and looking at all catagories, I am astounded at what people think they have. And, if thay are not asking rediculously high prices up front, they are wanting extremely high shipping costs. OK, I will quit venting as I did get a TCI last week for an 84/90 1st gen for $16.50 and about $6 shipping. RandyA

Hi. I have an 83 Venture with the stock passenger foot pegs.I want to install the upgraded foot rest.Is the bracket the same from years 83- 86? I see lots of foot rests on Ebay that are from 86- 89 years.Can anyone help? Thanks, Ray:think: -
Does anyone know if the MkI and MkII rotors are compatible? I'd like to get some slotted ones off an '87 for sale on eBay mounted on my '83.

Hey folks I just thought that I would put this out there. I just purchased a set of the leather saddlebags that came standard on the 96 RSTC. They also fit other years and models. These bags usually run in the $500 range and this dealership in Ohio has a bunch of them and are selling them "Buy It Now" on Ebay for $184.99 plus $19.30 shipping. That's a total of $204.29 shipped to your door from an authorized dealer. I have never seen the price on these so low. Just put this in the Ebay search engine..."Yamaha Tour Classic Saddlebags Plain 96-01 Royal Star" and it should pull up.

Can someone tell me how hard it is to replace the rear rotors on a 93 VR? I do have the repair manual. Also, where can I get replacement rotors other than from Yamaha? Can you trust used ones on ebay?

Are the radio units ( amp and tuner) the same between all 1st gen Ventures? The radio in my 83 VR has given up and I need a replacement. I see some on EBAY for other years and they look the same buy will they plug into my amp and radio display and work?

Could everyone keep thier eye out for "GOOD DEAL" on a low milage used RSV midnight. I've watched several on ebay, search tempest, cycle trader and and power sports network. It seems most sellers think thier bikes are made of gold. If anyone come across one shot me a pm. I've been two years without riding, its tearing me up! Figure if I can find one in the next few months I'll spend the winter getting it set up the way I like:) The best deal I've seen so far was that 2004 repo on ebay but the auction was only 3 days which left no time to inspest it.

There are some links to ebay in the "Quickstep has a bike" thread for CB's that only take you to the home page. There was some discussion about this problem awhile ago.... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46616 but it didn't seem as if it ever got resolved. The general concensious was that you COULD NOT BE LOGGED IN TO EBAY on your personal account if you wanted to copy and paste the link to a speciific item. So....whats the REAL story? Is it that the poster was logged in or is it my machine?

Was out window-shopping on ebay earlier and ran across a couple of real nice looking old XS11's. I don't think I've seen any that looked quite this good before. If they were a couple thousand miles closer I might even be interested in one for a backup ride if the bids didn't get too much higher. There's a blue 1980 here, and a 1978 Midnight Special here.

Well after a few years I have finished it. I bought this in 2000, and its been a work in progress ever since. 86 Royale with 39,000 miles. Its was mechanically sound but had been abused and laid down several times. After lots of ebay and a donor bike this is the result. I'm looking to trade my 07 RSTD for a Road Star. I need something a tad bit smaller and lighter. What do you think my chances are to find someone or a dealer that would swap a used Road Star for my RSTD? I just posted it on eBay to try and sell it, but it would ne nice to trade straight up.
