  1. I have never driven a trike before, and found out it's not as simple as it looks! I need to practice the steering in an empty lot for a couple of hours!! I have to fight the urge to lean, and not to put my feet down! It's a whole different world for sure. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it though. Don't have much choice, do I?!!? Had an absolutely wonderful time yesterday! Met KY Rider for the first time along with B2Dad at Hannigans and we had a wonderful bredakfast together later. B2Dad showed us a local bike shop, Pit Bull (some of you may have heard of the Pit Bull lift) and I bought myself a new leather jacket as my old one is getting just that, OLD! Later we spent the afternoon in Paris! Tenessee that is. Helped out the local economy, Becky loves to shop! Met up fod dinner with B@ Mom and Dad, Mr. & Mrs. Monty, and Midnight for an excellent dinner! It's off to Nashville later this morning for a couple of days then back here, hopefully for a little riding Thursday compliments of KY Rider!!
  2. Here we are all comfy at the Hampton Opryland. What a beautiful room!! They upgraded us to a studio which has a smal kitchen, couch, and large bathrom. We are off to do some shopping at the Opryland Mall then dinner. Anybody in the area we are here until Thursday AM then it's back to Murray KY...
  3. Bob & his wife stopped by this afternoon on his way to their bike conversion. Swapped some parts back and forth. Went and had dinner. They are on their way and will stop south of Columbus, Ohio to spend the evening. Gary
  4. I was wondering if anyone here plans to attend the show. Its Feb. 8,9,10 2008. My brother in-law and I always attend. It would be nice to meet some of the group and maybe have lunch or even dinner while there.
  5. IH Truck guy has invaded our home for the weekend.... he had a cpl day layover in our area so we felt it only right we put him up.... great to see him as its been since early summer..... took him out to dinner last night I dont know what the guys are gonna do for sure tonight but i dont think I get to go along....:whistling:--maybe i dont want to... ( and most likely there wont be pictures...)
  6. We went for a nice fall ride today and went thru Pisgah, IA where I saw a silver 2nd Gen along side the road. I couldn't stop, as we had a couple of other bikes with us and we were on our way to dinner. I'm just curious if it was someone on here. craigr
  7. Planning an all day ride from Mono Mills to Kitchener. We'll start at 9 am in Mono Mills, visit Thornbury at the far North and end at the Pioneer BBQ for dinner. I haven't got all the kinks out of the plan yet, but that is the basic idea. The country is picturesque, and the roads are great. If the suns shines we'll ride, if it rains, maybe we'll just join Swifty at the Pioneer for dinner. I'll post this on the calendar as well, so that we can get a count on numbers. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=146&day=2009-9-7&c=1

  10. We need to get as close a final count for the rallys big dinner on wed night into the Hub the beginning of next week...... anyone who is going to be attending the dinner that DID NOT register, it would be great if you added a post to this thread with the number who will be attending and paying us there for your dinner. We have 88 registered people for dinner as of right now Thanks guys, we appreciate your help on this so the Hub can plan accordingly
  11. Anyone who needs to back out of the rally from this point on please read this. T shirts and patches have been ordered and paid for at this point......so if you have to back out for some reason it would be appreciated if you would still keep your tshirts and patches and of course your raffle tickets. Dinner has not been paid for so that can still be refunded. We can recalculate your payments to reflect no dinner and send you a check for refund if your paypal / credit card payment is more than 60 days old. If your payment has been within 60 days i can refund via paypal, otherwise we will loose the paypal fees and loose more by refunding. It would be like like loosing the fees twice and you would loose fees by getting a payment. thanks!
  12. I spoke with the Hub today and they would really like to have a final count for the Wednesday night dinner by a week before the dinner so that means......July 27 Im sure they will be able to accommodate a few extras meals in case someone decides last minute........but if they run out of planned food there is always their menu to order off of. and remember tshirt orders cut off July 13
  13. My wife and I rode 310 miles to get dinner tonight. We rode from Lexington to Sikeston, MO to have dinner at Lambert's Cafe and we were not dissapointed. Rolls were flying everwhere and we caught a few before our meal arrived. The pot roast was excellent and much more than I was able to eat. I'll have to skip breakfast in the morning but it was well worth the trip. Attached is a photo of the giant roll. Here's a brief video I shot of the roll throwing: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHjjARZJNEY]YouTube - lambertsrolls[/ame] Dennis
  14. I would like to borrow one to check my carbs. I am from Terre Haute but will probably be riding to Indianapolis on Thursday so if anyone around those areas has one let me know. Also if you have experience syncing carbs and wouldn't mind helping me I would REALLY appreciate it as I have never done it before. I would even buy you a steak dinner as a thankyou!
  15. just got back from the final run to the hub, to tie up the loose ends. shared a room with la pryor, so we got the first hand scoop on the accommodations. the room was nice and large and had a refrigerator, microwave, coffeepot, kingsize bed ( i had a room with single bed). i ate lunch and dinner there and my meals were great. had a slight malfunction at dinner on the service but they took care of it. randal and his wife, the owners bent over backwards to make our stay a-1. hit alot of rain going down, and out ran the rain coming home. the ambassador recruited some new venture riders. all in all it was a great time, and we got to see buddy's new wing first hand. really nice. i think the 09 rally is going to be a great success. looking forward to seeing everyone there. bill
  16. i get a news letter from 1300T group because i thought about buying one before i got my Venture any way i got one this week and they are putting on some big meet and greet this year in the smokies and from what i am reading Yamaha might pay the food bill. i wll paste what the letter say. I have some exciting news! Yamaha has taken notice of our group and wants to participate in our Meet & Greet! Join us June 10th at 5pm at Mountain Motorsports located at 3422 Adventure Lane, Kodak, TN. Yamaha will be footing the bill for a BBQ dinner (still pending approval). The dinner will be catered by Buddy's BBQ (once approved). The buffet will include BBQ Pork with sauce on the side, baked beans, coleslaw, potato chips, and buns. Iced tea and lemonade will be the beverages available. We will charge $5 minimum (donate more if you like) per person for dinner, and 100% of these contributions will be donated to the Smoky Mountain Children's Home! has Yamaha ever done this for Venturerider group? i know it says pending approval but they had to get somebody some where to talk to them about it and it is for the childrens home.
  17. ...when your wife is riding with you. After an awesome day of riding yesterday, we stopped at the supermarket to pick up a "few things" for dinner. Not really realizing the implications of my words "get whatever we need honey", I waited at the scoot while Nina went to get "what we needed" for dinner...or so I thought. After what seemed like an hour (well, maybe it was 1/2 hour) I hear "Rick! ... come help me!" .... OH NO I think... sure enuf, she's got a buggy full of bags... 8 bags of groceries ... $90 dollars worth! HOW AM I GONNA FIT ALL THIS INTO THE SCOOT??? Well, after some juggling and re-juggling of things that are already in the saddle bags and trunk and trying this and trying that... I couldn't believe it... I got it all in! At first I was a bit annoyed but after realizing the humour in it, neither of us could stop laffing!
  18. As usual I have to cook Thanksgiving dinner for the family. I just wondered what everybody is having for Thanksgiving dinner? It is such a nice holiday, you do not have to give gifts. You just eat and watch football. Yama Mama

We plan to distribute the tshirts, patches, etc. at the Rally..if you are not attending or have to have your stuff shipped to you there will be shipping options on the order pages. Oh yeah.....we are also offering 10 different colors for the tshirts this year:thumbsup2:
  20. Deb and Gary made it safely to Fond du Lac on their trip over to Lake Michigan. My son Grant and I enjoyed showing them around town and sharing a great Mexican dinner together. What wonderful folks they are. I WILL be heading to their place in Iowa to see them again. Safe travels Deb and Gary. Sorry the pics are kind of dark. We took pics after dinner instead of before. RR
  21. I don't know how one gets an exceptional member award badge but if I could give one to Brad T and Naugh T for the dinner they cooked for me and Mr. & Mrs. Bummer last night, I sure would. Thanks Ronda and Brad for the great meal and visit. Another badge to Marcarl for bringing dinner out to the space shuttle and cooking it, last Monday too. Thanks Carl.
  22. Im going up to Springfeild for a MP school august 8th - 23rd, Whats up around there to do on the weekends? Also any VentureRiders in the area for maybe dinner one night?
  23. Ladies, gentleman, boys & girls. As you probably know by now, at the 2008 VentureRider rally in Kitchener in a few weeks, we are holding a "wrap-up" dinner Wednesday night. This is Wednesday July 9th and is a buffet of great German food being held at the Transylvania Club in Kitchener. If people who are not registered for the rally wish to come (presumably locals) to this wrap-up dinner, they can but we need to know ahead of time, as we need to give the Transylvania Club some definite numbers so they know how much food to prep. If you want to come to this buffet, it is $25.00, which can be paid at the door. The meal includes everything, including coffee and dessert. If you are NOT registered for the rally but want to come to this wrap-up dinner, let me know here now please.
  24. I need some information. At the upcoming rally, we are having a very nice buffet of good German food for our Wednesday night wrap-up dinner. The information that I need is a head count of those people who have NOT registered but may be just tagging along for the ride from day to day but plan on joining us for the wrap-up dinner and paying for that on their own. The restaurant needs a head count no later then 7 days before the event so they know how much food to prepare. Anyone NOT registered that plans on joining us for the Wednesday night wrap-up dinner ($25.00) needs to let me know ASAP. Please send me an email to: reinyschmidt@rogers.com telling me how many people are coming. Children under 12 are half price.
