1. Jan and I had a wonderful day on the bikes! We rode with a group today and made the loop around the Great Salt Lake. We rode 425 miles today with stops at Promontory Point National Historical Site. Then on to Wendover, Nevada and had a great buffet dinner at the Rainbow Casino. We reached some milestones along the way. Jan broke in her new tire, in a big way. She showed some increased confidence in the corners, after her accident a couple of years ago. Also, Jan eclipsed 10K on her Sportster, all but 900 miles by her. Beautiful day!
2. Any members live near Kona Hawaii ? The wife and I will be there May 17th for 9 days for my Daughter's Wedding. was looking for maybe a place I might be able to rent a bike for a day or so.. already have a rental car lined up , but would love to ride around the island one day on a bike. there is a Harley Dealer there that rents them for about 125 a day.. but want to find a better rate if possible. Thanks, Jeff
3. Happy Birthday Wes! Hope you have a great day! YAMA MAMA:smile5::Happy Birthday:

5. Sat the motor will be going back into the 83, hopefully with luck we might have it fired up and running before the end of the day. Still a lot of work ahead. This makes 3 out of the last 4 weeks that we, me and K-Rider have been working on it. We went riding last weekend for a change of pace. Pics will follow to show our progress.
6. Happy Birthday Hal !!! Hope you had a Great day!!!! Many more my friend!!!!
7. I had to bail out of work today, been having pain and discomfort under my ribcage. It has been going on for 3-4 days and getting worse, I didnt think it was my heart, I just had a stress test a couple of months ago and everything was fine, Dr. seems to believe its my gall bladder, sent me for an ultra sound. Dont have the results yet, but I hope they get back to me quickly, Every time if flares up it gets worse and last longer.......and I had a work day scheduled to work on the 83, we were gonna put the motor back in the frame and start putting her back in one piece, now it may be on hold for a little while.........sometimes life really SUCKS!!!!
8. My 83 is sluggish and seems to be short on fuel at the lower RPM's It starts to take off and accerlerate at around 2500 and once at 3000 hang on. It idles good and all 4 pipes warm up evenly. It seems to get better as the day goes on. I am doing the sea foam in the fuel and plan on a carb sync. Any other suggestions??
9. Had my RTKR done last Thursday and all went well. OS described the knee as a mess and I wouldnt have lasted much longer without the TKR. BCBS allowed 2 days stay but I was able to get the 3rd day. I wanted to stay for another week in the hospitals rehab center but the hospital advocates claimed all my ins would cover is at home therapy, which my OS agreed with.By Sun I had 0 0 70, walked about 300 ft and all should have been well. My concerns was that with my weight of 340 my getting up and down from a seated position would be hard. I still had a hard time with that. I was discharged and I was not able to get seated in my SUV. My daughter had to go home and come back with her lower suv. With some help I was able to get pulled into the back seat and finally home. I managed to get out safely and into the house. I still have not had a bowel movement since the day of surgery, other than urinating and passing gas. Now the fun begins. While at the hosp the therapists all had beefy assistants to help get me up. The home people show up and together they weigh less than me and both stood about 5'5 to my 5'11. Since my left "good" knee is also shot I was not able to put much pressure on it to raise myself up and the therapists, being so small were of no use to me. All I need is for someone who can handle my size/weight to get me past that one point and I would be able to function on my own fairly well. I also asked the hosp advocate to either have ins cover a lift chair or hosp bed for home use. No luck there either. So, the home nurse comes and accesses the situation and all home parties agree that I should be in a hospital therapy environment and they would make a strong recommendation for it. Or failing that, they would push for the fully automated hospital bed. and some beefier assistants. All I need is a few days to work this through and I should be ok. Lets see if ins cooperates. Bottom line: right now im basically stuck in my chair. If no one steps up I may have to call in rescue to lift me up. What really torques me with all of this was the fact that I had tried to address these concerns weeks before the surgery and during my 3 days there as well to no avail. Ill see what the day brings...... I would also like thank those who offered prayers, sent PM's or called me direct. It meant a lot!!
10. So, with the Waller maintenence day behind us, I thought possibly y'all might like a couple pictures to caption and chuckle at
11. It took a few years since I bought my bike, but it finally happened. I know some of you may be thinking, well we have had Hot Sex together, but this was with my wife on my bike. While making a rounding left 90 degree turn on a road I scraped my left floor board. This was my first time doing this on my bike and with my wife. Life is good. Have yourself a great day. Take a chance, take charge, and take control.
12. Gorgeous day yesterday after weeks of cold, rainy, crappy weather. Was so good to get out on the scoot for the day. Snapped a few pics. Ran into panjandrum and his wife along the way and had lunch with them. Was a great day!
13. Thanks to KIC for getting us intouch with his father to help us out while we visited old Tucson. The wife and I did 3,306 miles, visited Arizona, Neveda, and New Mexico. Went to Old Tucson studios, Hoover dam, Grand Canyon, and White sands. Got some Bad fuel my first day out. Worked it self out after a few fill ups and some STP. Almost lost a horn and a helmet hook but got both fixed. What a fun week of traveling.
14. Got ya, April fools day. I promise not to lie to you again until next April fools day. Fuzzy
15. We hope you had a wonderful day Victor :Happy Birthday:
16. How does something so small mess up a wonderful day of riding. 69 degrees here in Charlotte and I can not see for more than a few moments before the tears make it difficult to see. These little particles of pollen are killing my only day to ride for a while and I'm not happy. Medicine is not touching the nose, sinus cavity or eyes...... Here is what it says locally: http://www.wunderground.com/DisplayPollen.asp?Zipcode=28214 Final Word....... THIS STINKS! I hope someone is enjoying the day. Ride a few extra miles for me.
17. So is it possible to blow "both" bulbs on my passing light assembly. I started the bike yesterday ...and no passing lamps( i wired them to stay on day and night)...i know one of you can help me with this.
18. Sunday night the clocks sprang forward an hour. Here in Atlanta the daffodils, jonquils and tulips have popped up and the Bradford pears are approaching full bloom. The weather guessers are forecasting 80 degrees this week, my floral Hawaiian shirts are finding their way to the front of the closet and my throttle hand has started to quiver. All of which are sure signs that riding season is upon us. With that in mind I am now motivated to complete my annual winter retrofit, maintenance and mod upgrade projects on the bike and look forward with adventure in my heart and planning on my mind for my Spring and Summer road trip schedule to catch up with old and new VR friends. Since I'm getting started a little too late to make Daytona Spring Bike Week :doh:and I don't anticipate having enough accrued vacation and cash flow to do Sturgis again this year. So far this is what I'm thinking as doable It might be about time to resurrect a N. Ga M&E day run and/or maintenance Day. In the next 4 to 6 weeks Myself and my friend Richard (Owner of the 07 Midnight Venture loaner I've been riding for the past two years) have tentatively planned a back roads route trip from Atlanta to St. Mary's/King bay, Coastal Georgia for a three day weekend trip. Free bird's Ohio Maintenance Day for sure this year in early June. The Western NY International Rally if at all possible. Isn't this a off year for Vogel and has anybody mentioned a Asheville M&E. Until then and most any decent weekend in between I'm up for a day trip or weekend overnighter within range. The point being what are y'all planning. Who's game to come with or invite to whatever rides you may be planning within my doable range:thumbsup2:, work schedule:bang head: and available disposable resources.
19. Happy Birthday Kenny!!!!! Have a Venturous Day!!!!
20. Hope ya have a great day Don:thumbsup: Craig
21. So, after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, a good find for many retirees. I lasted less than a day . . . About two hours into my first day on the job, a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance. I said pleasantly, "Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?" The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, "Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7. Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or stupid?" So I replied, "I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am. I just couldn't believe someone slept with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart." My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work.
22. Happy Birthday Bull! Hope you had a great day! :Happy Birthday: Yama Mama
23. was thinking of putting together a nc maintenance day however i don't have all the tools and very little knowledge on working on these bikes.(no lift or stand) i have a two car garage for working on them just thought i'd ask for some feed back on this.not trying to get to fancy just trying to do something for nc.if i lived close to the coast it would be no problem, i could just kidnap muffinman, lol.please give me your thoughts and tell me if i'm grasping at straws or not, thanks.
24. Happy Birthday you old coot. have a great day in Georga. BTW... Happy Anniversary to you and Mini also. (this one's a day late!)
25. The Cow, the Ant and the Old Fart A cow, an ant and an old fart are debating on who is the greatest of the three of them. The cow said, "I give 20 quarts of milk every day and that's why I am the greatest!" The ant said, "I work day and night, summer and winter, I can carry 52 times my own weight and that's why I am the greatest!" Why are you scrolling down? It's your turn to say something.
