I just bought a chrome brake cover with "Venture" Etched on it and now need the matching cover that say's "Royal Star" . If anyone has one laying around in a box gathering dust I'd be happy to buy it from you. Plan B is to buy just a plain chrome cover.

I need to replace the gasket on the left side crank case cover and I'm wonder what "special" considerations I need to be aware of. I've read and printed the service manual instructions and looked at a few pics on the site. After removing the multiple allen bolts that hold the cover on will it come off with the stator attached to the cover or do I have to remove the smaller cover first (with Yamaha emblem)? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Brian

The seat covering on my 1st gen MK-II (unlike myself) has succumb to old age and is falling apart. So if anyone has or knows of a good condition dark brown seat or seat cover sitting around looking for a good home please let me know.

My seat cover is in perfect condition EXCEPT for a split just forward of the seam where it meets the battery cover/false tank. Has anyone found a product to repair these?

A few months ago I bought a Saddlemens seat from the classifieds here. It had a separate trunk seat back cover, which needed to be installed over the old pad. After removing the old cover with its 100 staples (or so it felt) I tried to staple the new cover on. My old staple gun just wasnt up to the task. I called a local auto upholsterer who quoted me a price of 80 bucks an hour. So, it would probably have run me about 40. I tried Sargents Cycle, which is located here in town and the guy said to come on by right now and they will take care of it right away. Cost would only be about 15 bucks. I got there about 1:30 and at 1:40 I had my pad back, looking like it came from the factory. They even steamed it to fit nice and snug. Took out my money and he waved me off. No charge, just remember us in the future. I gave him a tip to give to the installer and we argued about that. He finally took it and off I went. Everyone who passed me in the show room asked if I was being helped while I was waiting. Customer service really impressed me there and they had some really nice seats. I never asked if they had Venture seats but I am going back to them this week to see if they can fit the saddlebag lid covers I have on properly so ill ask them about seats for our bike. http://www.sargentcycle.com/

Need some input from the brethren here... I am fixing up Zipcodes '89 Suzuki VS750 Intruder, It needs the fuel petcock screen replaced. I have looked several places on the web, but haven't found just the screens, the petcock works fine. Does anyone know of a place to purchase just the screen, or am I going to have to morf something up While I'm at it, the seat needs to be recovered, any insight on where to just purchase a cover to put over the seat?

So I installed 1.5" riser on the handle bars today. All the lines look like there is plenty of play in them. I was not able to re install the rubber mounts for the fairing. Have to think about that for a while before I modify them. Any suggestions are appreciated. The one other problem I found is the mounts now hit the plastic cover on the gas tank by the key. They don't touch the ignition but do move the plastic. I am looking for another one that I can modify. Preferably in Black but any color will do. if anyone has an extra they are willing to part with please let me know. Thanks much

I purchsed the seat that Ed Rassmussen, pc009, had listed on the classifieds. I want to send out a public THANK YOU to Ed. The seat is fantastic. Doreen and i went for a short ride tonight and we both love it. The cloth seating area is very comfortable. It is even a slight bit larger and gived us each a little more room. I was afraid of driving the bike to work with the new seat since the only place to park it on a hard surface is under a very large pine tree. I was afraid of the needles and the sap falling on the cloth seat. It was difficlt enough to get the vinyl clean. But....while we were at a Menard's in Sioux Falls earlier today, I saw a cover designed for a power washer. I pulled it out of the box and it looked about the right size to fit the seat. Got it home and tried it on the bike and it fits!! It will cover from the front of the seat all the way over the trunk and rack. This was about half the price ($13.50) compared to one for a "motorcycle seat rain cover". Again, Thanks Ed, we will be enjoying the seat. Stay Safe, Dave

How hard it this seal to replace? Just pull rear left side cover off, dig it out and press one back on?

The 2 carcasses - continued..
KIC posted a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
So I have the opportunity to pick up these two 83 MK1 carcasses. I have been out of town so it has taken a while to try to finish this deal. I went back and really looked over them. My intention is to store them and just have the parts available. I would like to sell enough parts to cover the cost of the bike then the parts, nuts, bolts etc are there to pass on. Can you guys look at these pictures and tell me if there are parts here worth selling/keeping and passing on ? I have a few people interested in some of the parts already, just trying to figure out if it is worth putting the money out for them. What do you think they are worth paying for ? The fuller carcass has what appears to be: Good solid front forks ( not leaking) with anti-dive units. Good front fender Good Rims front & back Good right lower fairing Left side mirror ( light scratches on back) Good radiator Good right rear bag Left front turn signal lens Handle bars 1 chrome vent cover Misc chrome bars on sides two complete rear turn signals rear trailer hitch trailer light connector and wiring Most of the CLASS system ( condition unknown) Seat carcass Misc electrical connectors Engine looks mostly complete, but missing carbs and been left open to rain and elements. -
Been out riding all day and at one stop I made a guy pulls in on a Valkyrie with a very nice tank cover with two hard closeable "pockets". He did not know where the tank cover came from because it was on the bike when he bought it. I took pictures of the tank bag and label but the label didn't come out to good. Just thought it was a good idea with the "pockets" on the tank bag.

My clutch cover has a crack that a previous owner attempted to repair with some sort of epoxy(?). The repair has now let go and the cover leaks.. I don't know of any method of permanent repair on this material, so I'm wondering if anyone has a cover they are wiling to sell. Or do I have to go to fleabay? This is the 1300 cc engine. PM me if you have one you would like to sell.

I have a 2007 Venture Royale that the tape player dust cover will not lock close. Since the bike is still under warranty I spoke to the dealer about having it repaired and was advised the hole assembly mounted in the dash had to come out and be sent to Clarion. I'm not about to have my bike tied up for potentially months over this. Anyone else have this problem or a solution?

Now that I have the "Taylor Trailer at Atlantic Beach, I will be riding down more often; just discovered that my cover for the bike is too small and I need one to cover the "big" bike. Any ideas where I can buy one at a reasonable price ASAP?

I just got a set of Troy Savoie saddlebag lid covers, thanks to a nice member here. What I need is the proper size trim for the edges to make it work. I was looking online at various u shaped edge mouldings and im a bit confused. Some of you have already mounted this cover so id like some suggestions on what I need to buy as far as trim goes. I did send an email to Troy but needless to say he never responded. Didnt really expect him to either based on his past record. Any ideas will help....
