  1. I ride a 93 Venture Royal, it has Bridgestones on it now, but I'm wanting to replace the tires on it. I'm just been rideing for about 4 months now so my knowledge is little. Do you all recommend a certain brand, I live in the country and we do a lot of back road riding to get to the highways. Thanks Big Havk
  2. Hey guys, Over the weekend, my '03 Midnight started showing a weird problem. It's started cutting off under throttle! I have my iPod touch connected to it and at first, thought it was the cable, but today, the radio did the same thing. It lasts long enough to be annoying - after about 20 miles of country roads - but then it clears up, so no chance to examine anything and recreate the problem! Of course, it's six months out of warranty! Any ideas?
  3. We go here at least once every other year. If I were loaded, I would buy a place here to live. Beautiful country!
  4. Had to laugh at this one:rotfl: The writing on the bike says Yamaha but you can never be too sure anymore. Might be a good deal for one of ours in that part of the country. Trying to get those "Kawasaki" parts to fit your Venture may be a problem tho http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts-Accessories_Motorcycle-Parts-Accessories__1983-Kawasaki-Venture-Parts-Bike_W0QQitemZ380050818992QQddnZPartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQadnZMotorcycleQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQddiZ2811QQadiZ2863QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item380050818992&_trksid=p3756.m14.l1318
  5. This Country Music festival takes place every year for the last 25 years about 17 miles north or Regina Sk. Canada. There is about 25000 people there daily and everyone stays in the campgrounds and just has one heck of a good time. This year they had everyone from Toby Keith to Dierks Bentley, on Sunday afternoons lineup. I have a couple of pics and one video of the campground and you can see the stage waayy off in the distance, but it will give you the idea of the geography. 6. Kbay And I Have The Same Venture. Same Color, Same Year, Etc. No Not Totally. We Both Noticed His Choke Pull Is On The Left Side And Mine Is On The Right. Mine Having Come From Louisiana(small Third World Country), Could Be On The Wrong Side As The Antenea's Were Backwards Too. Anybody Else Have The Choke On The Right Side?
  7. I am scheduled to go to Reston, Va for a week at the end of July. Question I have for you folks up that way is. Is there any good riding to be done up in that area? I'm sure there is, but it would be nice to know from those who live in the area, or those who have traveled it. It's been over 10 years since I have been in that area, back then it was some beautiful country, but A LOT of building going on. Thanks.
  8. If you are heading to the Texas Hill Country, you might want to consider the Whitten Inn in Kerrville for a place to stay - couldn't get more biker friendly than this place! Their normal rack rate for a double is $80, but if you are on a motorcycle, the rate is $60. And if you are smart enough to stop at any Texas visitor center first and look in the travel coupon book, you just might find a coupon for them at $50! When you check in, they give you a free beer, and they have a bike wash station and wipe-down rags available. The rooms do show some wear, but they are clean and in reasonable repair. The rest of the place looks pretty decent too. Goose
  9. Time of year for you guys to get some weather action. Hold on to your hats and anchor down those scooters. Looks like a wild ride tonight. MamaMo says no way she would live out there in flat land country. We get maybe 1-2 small tornadoes per year statewide here. Those are mostly very small scale with little damage. Good luck and this brings a question. Anybody every see a tornado when riding your scoot?
  10. Snow in Arkansas in March:confused24: Whodathunkit? Maybe I need to repent for the hard time I've been giving you guys up in the cold country? Naw, it's supposed to be 60 degrees here tomorrow.
  11. http://www.pashnit.com/pics/venture/new/IceHouse6-900.jpg Cross country trip...maybe some of yall have seen this...maybe not...enjoy: http://www.pashnit.com/venture-wht.htm He refers to this bike as a V-twin...whats up with that? At least there is a link taking you back home.
  12. Just came home from seeing the movie 'No Country for Old Men', and I was just wondering..... are guns that 'popular' in Texas? I've heard that Texans like their guns, but I think I might be a tad nervous riding through rural Texas after seeing that movie. Anyone else seen it?
  13. Thinking of ordering Yamaha Chrome from ncyyamaha.com. Anybody ever order from them?
  14. I copied this from my local chapters forum of the SCRC. Please read and if you wish leave a message on her web site. Keith. Good morning, I would like to ask everyone to do me a huge favor. We would like all of our members and guests to go to this website and leave a message for a special young lady. Angelica has little time left but has an incredible outlook on life. Please check out the website and her story. We are assisting on this fundraiser in the background. I have been asked to take her for a short ride on the 12th during the fundraiser to help cover the costs associated with illness. So get on there , please and sign her guest book. She reads it everyday before bed and I want to fill it up with SCRC members. http://www.azmiracle.com/ Regards and a very Merry Christmas to all of you http://people.delphiforums.com/nofear37/John_Tricia.jpg "This country has lost control of its borders. 15. I put Metzlers on the scoot about 3500 miles ago. So far, so good. Good wear (mucho bettero than the Dunfloppeds) and none of the stated problems mentioned in previous threads. They handle well and I can discern no construction flaws. I did notice that my set was made in Germany. It seems that most problems are from the Brazilian-made tires. Just passing the info along. My riding is mostly 2-up and I tend to like to twist that thing on the right handlebar. I have none of the squirreliness (is that a word?) on grooved pavement or tar snakes previously noticed with the OTHER tires. I would recommend these with a note of caution to pay attention to the country of manufacture.
  16. My son and I recently got back from a ride in the Texas Hill Country. We visited Fredericksburg, Leakey Luckenbach and Bandera. We rode the Three Sisters ( FM 335, 336, 337). We also made a stop at the Texas famous, Garven Store. It switched from rain to shine on all three days but we got some good riding time. This is the first ride we have got to do together since he came back from Iraq. Here are a few pictures from the trip. Moakster

  18. A neighbor just dropped off some fresh whitetail tenderloin. I can see it now deer steak surrounded by mashed potatoes and gravy. Don't forget a pan of mamamo's homeade bisquits. Nothing like a First gen,Deer steak,Apple pie, and Oh yea Chevy Pickup. A country boy can survive.Time to get the rifle out and check the zero. It's bow season now but gun season is less then a month away.
  19. Well here in the land of Oz it is really quite difficult to go and buy yourself a RSV. Checked with a lot of dealers all over the country and there are no stocks. The very last 07 RSV was shipped out of here to New Zealand. I'm a bit disappointed that Yamaha Australia are still listing the 07 XVZ 1300TF on their inventory but are no longer importing them to Australia. So looking for any used bikes around the whole country there are only 3 for sale that I can find. I'm doing a deal for a white 04 with around 25,000 kms on the clock (15,500 miles). The only problem is it is 3,000 miles away. Gee, I must be keen:thumbsup2:. I've booked my flight for Monday week and am going to ride it back from north of Brisbane to Perth. (will soon find out if I like the bike or not). Have to decide if I will have time to return on the coast road or cut across country and save myself 1,000 kms. Just wish I had a few weeks instead of a few days to ride back.
