  1. Hello, I thought I saved to my CP the Car Tire threads, but I guess not. Have an '89 venture with Avon's, not happy with them. running 120/901-18 65H on front and 140/90-16 71 H on rear. Looking for a thread to best CT tire, conversion chart from MC size to CT sizes, ETC. Any help is appreciated!! Thankx, Gary C
  2. Wife got me the Tri-Star XP brake light conversion. Over the years, I have done my share of wiring in radios, speakers, and accessories in vehicles. I have rewired trailers and such, so I am not "scared" to tackle this, but it looks a little involved. 1. Am I going to need addtional wiring? Does not look like there is enough included. 2. Is the load equalizer needed on an RSV?
  3. All the accessories I've ordered to make it possible to keep riding are starting to arrive at last Steves' grill guard is here, adjustable floorboards have arrived, rear spoiler light came today and also my braided brake lines. Just waiting on my specially ordered tank bra from Troy (on it's way) and the most important bit--the trike conversion ! That won't arrive here and clear customs until middle of June :crying: The only thing left to get are the handlebars, but getting short of :mo money:Will post pics when it's all done (if I ever figure out how to do it?)
  4. I just bought a 86 VR and it has a spin on oil filter ( Fram PH3950). I changed the oil and got a equivalent Wix filter. ( I think Fram is junk) My problem is that the filter seamed to bottom out before the seal completely seated, this was confirmed when after a bit there is a drop oil oil then after a day a small puddle of oil on the floor, coming from the bottom of the filter. I have no idea who makes this conversion to the spin on or if I have to use only the Fram junk. Anyone have any advice? or know what filters will work best on this spin on conversion? Thanks EddyG
  5. Anybody know where i can find a conversion to go from floorboards to pegs on a 96 Royal Star. I would like to have foward controls but i don't want to shell out the dough. Unless anybody can tell me were i can get a set for cheappppp!! But pegs will be fine for now just need to find the conversion????
  6. http://www.roadstercycle.com/yamaha_vmax_fuel_injector_cv_car.htm Cheaper than the WIldbros conversion. http://www.wildbros.com/EFI.html I wonder if you could use this carb to throttle body conversion in junction with the Wildbros FMM electronics.
  7. The clutch on my 88 has got the high rpm slips. New clutch plates or a conversion are outside the realm of the current budget. Does anyone out there have a clutch spring from their 86 and up ( Royal Stars too if I understand it ) that they don't have a need for? Maybe you already did a Barnett conversion on your bike. I'd happily pay a few bucks for it. Thanks to whoever PM's me, or even just reads this.
  8. OVER THE HOLIDAYS I INSTALLED THIS KIT AND LOVE IT GOT IT FROM CRUISER COUSTOMIZING FOR $49.95 EC-01315 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI-7C9e4A7g]YouTube - tail light conversion[/ame]
  9. Does anyone have the Hannigan conversion? I'm thinking about having one put on my 02 soon and was looking for comments about the Hannigan or about trikes in general. I was wondering about the steering, will the handlebars return to the neutral position or do you have to pull them back to center?
  10. Anyone know if a set of bub slip-on pipes for a RK will fit using the RK bracket and clamps that we normally use for a conversion ? Thanks tj:doh:
  11. Hi All, Trying to decide if this conversion really makes a big difference in the audio quality on the Venture. I am somewhat concerned for when I pull up the etronics site, the same model EQ that was used for the conversion is listed as 200 watts, but the conversion thread states it is 100 watt, so I suspect the manufacturer may be playing the number game. For those of you that have done this, was it worth the effort? For example, before you may have had to turn your volume to 25 to hear at highways speeds, but after this install, were you reaching the same point around 15 or so? Already upgrade my speakers on a 2006 Venture to Marine grade Polk Audio, but since I listen at high volume, I want to ensure I get enough power to the speakers to keep from harming them in the long run, so torn between the EQ install or an AMP, however I don't want to loose any truck space. Thanks for any help and advice!!!!! :confused24:
  12. Has anyone in here done a EFI conversion on there 83-93 ventures? I did the MFI conversion on my 78 F100, and now it's time to think about the same on my 84 VR. Where would I start looking to find compatible throttle boddies and such?
  13. Motorcycle Tire Information and Conversion Charts Basic Tire Information http://www.venturerider.org/tireinfo/motorc1.gif http://www.venturerider.org/tireinfo/motorc2.gif Break-In Period In order for your new tire to provide optimum performance, tires should be ridden very cautiously for the first 100 miles in order for the tread surface to be "Scuffed-In" and work properly. Directly after new tires are mounted, sudden acceleration, maximum braking and hard cornering must be avoided. This will allow the rider to adjust to the "feel" and handling characteristics of the new tire and for the new tire to be "scuffed-in" correctly in order to achieve optimum grip level. Remember, tire safety requires proper care and use. WARNING: Only properly trained personnel should mount tires.
