Hi All, A friend of a friend is selling his 2001 XVS1100 VSTAR (see pics below) for $2500.00. It has A Harley Headlight and Running Lights, Hard Saddle Bags, Cobra Exhausts, and rear Air Suspension with onboard compressor. It has 6100 miles on it. It is a bit loud for my tastes but Ebay has stock pipes cheap. If anyone knows anything about these bikes, PLEASE let me know, I know very little about the big twins. Thanks for your help, Earl

At the end of the month I'm going to take a few day off and head up to Northwest Michigan with the wife and a few friends. I was hoping we had some members here that could suggest some good roads to ride, places to eat, and a cheap place to put my head on a pillow, places not to go, and so on. On my map rt22 looks like a good road?

I'm looking for a cheap wood burner for the camp. I'm accumulating more fire wood from fallen trees and limbs then we can use in the fire pit. The old house is only 800 sq ft and I'll only heat it when camping on occasional weekends. Got hunting season coming up through December and I like to start spring work projects in March so being able to camp during chilly months is nice. I'm looking at the vogelzang frontiersman that tractor supply sales for $399. It comes with a 110 volt blower and 102,000 btu adequate for 1000 sq ft. I'm not sold on this stove. It's just available close and within budget. Last year there was a run on stoves due to heating cost increases. I can only imagine what this year will be like with fuel cost rising. Next weekend I'm putting a new floor down in the old kitchen and then I'll be ready for a stove. The old kitchen had a wood burning cook stove years ago and thats where this one will go.The master bedroom is next to the kitchen so I could curtain off the living room and spare bedroom to reduce necessary heating space. I got a wheelchair ramp right to the front kitchen door. Makes for rolling a first gen in easy. An other ideas on stoves?

There's no five year warranty here in Australia so you either put up with the whine or take a chance and pay for the fix yourself. The local Yamaha stealer wanted $450 for a new "I" basket before installation. I purchased one from boats.net in Florida which arrived here in Perth within a week and it only cost me $227 plus postage $40. My local mechanic charged me $100 for the install. Just gave it a test ride and the whine is totally gone. This is a cheap option compared to looking for another bike. Mine is a 2004 model and the clutch basket removed is a "G" variation. I can now turn the radio down a couple of notched and listen to that V4:happy34: Steve

Maybe I can get some pictures up later. I just removed the trunk to see how bad it was. I'm talking 6 inch cracks up the side,up the back, across the bottom almost end to end. We got one chunk of plastic missing about 2 1/2 inch square. Obviously this one did not get the Yamaha recall repair in 99. So for a cheap quick fix now ASAP what are my options. I don't care if I have to replace the trunk later but now time is the problem.

I have been using So. Seattle for parts cuz they were the cheapest... But my last shipment took over 3 weeks and included a couple of unanswered e-mails.. Their site was down yesterday and I did some poking around and heard of some grumbling that they might be in financial trouble... I don't want to start rumors here just watch out if you use them. Well I need a regulator and started shopping around and found a place that beat most by $30.00 and So. Seattle by 10... $47 for a regulator.. Well their site was messed up and wouldn't put the regulator in the shopping cart so I called them... I also was wondering about shipping.. Some vendors pad the shipping to make their cheap prices not so cheap... Well it seems they have better prices over the phone and charge less for shipping on phone orders.. I ended up paying $44.00 with shipping came out to less than So. Seattle's unshipped price. So I would suggest getting your part numbers from their website and calling the order in to their 800#. I'll let you know on shipping... they said 6-7 days. If anyone else has used them please reply to this thread. http://www.carolinacycle.com/default.asp

As some of you might know one of the Tulsa Touring Riders wreck his 1999 venture while we where on a ride a couple of weeks ago. After lots of thought and since he his getting up there in age (74) he has decided not to put the bike back together, so he will be selling it cheap. The right side plastic is messed up and the fairing. The forks and frame are good. If anyone is interested in it, give me a shout and I will put you touch with him. The bike has been well maintained and has less than 40,000 miles on it. Phill pandlbiker@cox.net

My new, uninsured Nokia 6085 was washed by accident and now its kaput. No, there was no insurance either so a new replacement is gonna cost big bucks, unless........someone here knows of any reliable, cheap outlets for one.

I am seeking to find out the smallest trailer that will handle hauling a 86 VR. I am currently In Pa.. will be picking the bike up in South Ga. So also seeking info on the cheapest source of a trailer that will haul it and used does not bother me.. cheap is the key word. I am attempting to purchase this with the least amount of money since once I haul it back here and then back home in Oct. (southern Mississippi) I wont be using it very often. Thanks in advance.

Tail bag, that is:) I would like something that fits well on the RSV rack. Don't care much for the Yama-bag - sort of cheap looking. Any suggestions for something well fitting good looking and that won't require a home equity loan?

Does anyone happen to have a picture of how the luggage rack attaches to the RSTD? I bought one without the mounting hardware (cause it was cheap), but it doesn't seem as simple as I thought to mount it. Am I SOL? Thanks for the help, you all are the best! On a side note, sometimes being a cheap SOB doesn't really help.

The part number is 46255. It seems ready made and cheap. I thought about using it so I could get a trailer.

I recently purchased the Harbor Freight tire change with motorcycle kit. I still have to wait for the hardware which was lost when the box split open in shipping. I have two questions for those of you who do your own tires: 1) My main concern is balancing. I know I used to use a gadget that balanced with a level on a cone mounted on a simple spindle at a shop I worked at decades ago. Was thinking I could find something like that cheap but haven't found one yet. Any thoughts on a simple mechanism like that to do balancing? 2) Also wondering where I can get decent valves cheap. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I may be the only RSV rider this has happened to but I wanted to share a cheap solution I found for my cb black plastic antenna connector that broke. First of all, Yamaha doesn't sell the connector, just the whole antenna at $175. From the post I had listed before there were some good ideas but I wanted to keep the OEM appearance if possible without spending $175. Anyway, I took the broken connector to a machine shop and they machined one exactly like the original. I knew the guy who did it and he said it took about 5 minutes and the best part is, didn't charge me anything. I have reassembled the antenna and you can't tell it from OEM. Just thought I'd share what worked for me. You bet I'm happy.
