Is there any left in the US??? Nothing here in Canada...it sells right out of the shipping crate it seems! If I could get my hands on one for a Christmas gift for the kids it would be great. The ebay ones are way way out of what the stores are selling them. 149 is the usual cost at best buy etc. We are currently stalking EB games here in town but they never seem to get that shipment in when they say they will get it!

Firstly, thanks for all the input to my "What should we buy" thread. We looked at Ford, Dodge, and Chev (Nina wasn't too excited about Nissan or Toyota). Almost did a deal on an '07 F150 4x4 but it was just a bit beyond our budget. Then we found this 2005 Chev Silverado 1500 2x4 extended cab LS model with only 56,000 Kilometers on it .... whittled them down to 12,500 and made the deal ... hopefully will be picking it up tonight (pending financing). Hi all. I am looking at getting a trailer to pull behind my scoot. Not sure if I should build or buy. If I build, I am sure I can get a couple of friends to do the welding for me at the school where I work. Should it be aluminum tubing? I would think it's better for weight but would it hold on the road? Then put a car top cargo on it again for weight. To buy, not sure where to look for a good price and quality at the same time. Any ideas are welcome. If you have a plan of how to build one I would certainly appreciate it. thanks

Dear Mr. Harper ( or Mr. Obama) , Please find below my suggestion for fixing our economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to banks and car companies, that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan: There are about 20 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations: 1) They MUST retire. Twenty million job openings - Unemployment fixed. 2) They MUST buy a new Canadian CAR. Twenty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed. 3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed. 4) They MUST send their kids to school / college /university - Crime Rate fixed. 5) Buy $50 of alcohol / tobacco / petrol a week - There's your money back in duty / tax etc. It can't get any easier than that! Yours truly, Ordinary Joe Citizen P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances.

Hello I am new here and do not currently own a RSV....but am looking to buy one. Do the 1999-2010 RSV have a rev limiter? I thought that you could only get a rev limiter on a fuel injected bike. I guess if the limiter is hooked to the ignition then it is possible. Please let me know about this.....It would save me alot of money not having to buy a 250.00 tach set-up. you might have noticed I just picked up an 84 Standard venture. Wondering if the wiring harness is the same as a VR? Meaning....could I buy the goodies and make a standard into a VR or are all the plugs and connections just not there?

I'm new to the world of Ventures and have not found any place to buy parts yet. I have been on XS1100 for years and have sources for many parts in need. I know I can go through most online bike suppliers and buy OEM parts but where do you find the good deals on your parts. Is there a prefered parts vendor that most of you use? I'm riding a 83 Venture Royale

Thanks to my new found aquaintances, I have made the decision to buy a used RSV. I have located 3 or 4 in the local area, and they are all in the $7000 to $8000 range, with most being 2003 models. What do I look for, and what do I avoid? One of them has a Corbin seat that seems much harder than the stock one, and cost the original owner hundreds of dollars. Keep it, or have the dealer swap it for a stock one from one of the other bikes in the showroom? What's with the chat about clutch or gear whine? Something I need to know or worry about? I think you all get the idea. I do NOT ask that you buy the bike for me, but I know nothing about this model, and welcome any and all assistance. God bless you all, and thanks in advance.

Who is the most happy over the new Venture is Ponch, he can sell more gauges aslong as they keep with the cassette player, so the bottom line is ever cloud has a silver lining.. By the way everyone that sees them is like oh, wow, neat. My get another venture to buy more gauges.....LOL

Way back last year we had a group buy on fork braces. To get the price break I had to buy 50 braces, and ended up only moving 20-25 to the group. Nothing like the first group buy where almost 70 were sold. Since then it's been one here and one there. I have four left with one's that's been spoken for. Only 3 are available. So.... anyone thinking about replacing their OEM brace shoot me a PM. Here's a link to the Classy ad. Once these are gone it's going to be a while before... if ever... there'll be another group buy.

I need to buy tires and I have a couple of question #1 - 150/80-16 or the narrower MT90B16 on the front #2 - how many of you put RIDE ON or some other product in your tires #3 - Is there anyone out there in WI that has a tire changer that would be willing to give me a hand changing my tires? I would appreciate the help! FYI - I am going to buy the Elite 3's for tires they seem to be the tire of choice for a majority of the people on this forum Thanks and ride safe Jeff

A brief history: When I purchased my '05 it came wired up and with a GPS mount on the handlebar(even found a sunshade in the trunk). But, the previous owner took the unit. Through some detective work it was determined that the old unit was a Garmin 2620. I talked to a guy at a GPS booth and he said the 2730 will also fit the mount, and has the same wiring, but is a far superior unit. So .... I have been scouring Ebay, Craiglist, want ads, google searches etc. for years now. They go for about $125 to $150 used, missing parts, not map updated etc. on Ebay. But I could go out and buy a new Garmin for $150 .... but not wired for it and I'd have to buy a mount. Getting frustrated trying to bid for the things (why would so many people want 5 year old GPS units for the same price as a new ones is beyond me!) Before I ask .... what would you do? .... keep in mind I have unique hands .... extra thumbs!!! So, what would you do.... keep trying or is it worth all this effort for an old unit, should I rip out the wiring and go for a newer unit??? Thanks!

Unfortunately, I've never been to Germany to get back to my roots, so I just wanted to pass on a note... My father told me about a place called 'Henninger Brau' in Frankfurt, and apparently I'm related to them. I have a few wine glasses from there, and a few different cans/bottles of beer dated in the 70's when my father was there, but I'd love to get some more stuff! When we bought our 05 Venture...a pair of full face helmets with headsets came with it. I can't do a full face anymore with all the 40 mph winds, 90 plus temperatures, etc. I have purchased a half helmet that has ear flaps where my earpieces can fit into, but I have no place to velcro stick my mike, so hears my question.... What kind of headset do I need to buy for a halfhelmet and will I also need to buy one for the hubby in order for us to talk together? Neither one of us know anything about electronics at all. Thanks in advance for any help. Deb

I have finished the mods I felt are a MUST for a RSV. Mine is a 2008 Venture optioned as a S model. My "Must Do" modification/add list is as follows: clean & weatherproof the radio/CB cable connectors fabricate & install Engine Guard Braces buy & install Tony Dathan's Passing Lamps Light Bar Spacer Bracket buy & install Rick Butler's Bag Bolts buy & install Rick Butler's Seat Thumb Nuts buy & install a Stebel Air Horn (or equivalent) - I installed mine in the fairing & kept the other horns also working replace the six OEM windshield/fairing 5mm bolts with longer bolts (about 1/4 inch longer) & use bigger washers (almost like fender washers) to minimize chance for breaking the ABS fairing when tightening buy a small tool pouch... fill it with some tools, tie wraps, etc. - dump the OEM tool kit stuff in the pouch & place it in a side bag buy a Shock Air Pump/Gauge & stick that in your tool pouch buy Rain Gear & stick it in a side bag buy a GPS & RAM Mount for long rides buy a good pair of headsets for CB/radio/intercom gut the tape deck & modify it for Zune/IPod/Mp3 player storage & extend the AUX input with a cable buy & install a good set of handlebar grips - modify them to retain the factory handlebar chrome weight extensions That is it for what I believe to be the MUST things I had to do for my Venture. Remember, these items/changes are simply my opinions. I do not believe that it is worth fabricating & installing brackets for attaching the ends of the windshield mounting bar to the speaker nuts. The bar has plenty of holding power from the center two bolts & leaving the ends to float, makes installing the upper fairing & windshield back in place easier. JohnB

I'm contemplating buying a set of K&N Air filters for my 08 RSV. Do the filters come "pre-charged", or do I have to buy a charging kit prior to first use? Thanks in advance!

Is difficult to find venture driver back rests for the 1986-1993 models? It looks like a very well designed unit and it may play a role in which used bike I buy if it will be a pain to come up with something that would work as well.
