  1. looking to purchase 1st gen venture near east tn. ty
  2. I just bought a chrome brake cover with "Venture" Etched on it and now need the matching cover that say's "Royal Star" . If anyone has one laying around in a box gathering dust I'd be happy to buy it from you. Plan B is to buy just a plain chrome cover.
  3. All, I know this has been asked many times before, but I cannot seem to find anyone who has progressive springs in stock. I am redoing my forks this coming weekend and need to get some in a hurry. I also need seals and dust covers for my forks. I have an 87 Venture Royale. I live in the Houston, TX area. Does anyone know where I can buy some for a reasonable price? THe couple of places i called, buckeye and pioneer, dont have em in stock. Thanks in advance, JP
  4. Just got back from a 15 day Panama Canal cruise and it was just super. We did the normal souvenir shopping and tours and all the stuff. Now my wife was just amazed at the money I let her spend on jewelry and whatever she wanted thinking that I was rather generous. :mo money:All the while I’m thinking that someday soon the scooters are going to need something as frivolous as safety chrome or whatever so I just told her to buy what she wanted and that there might, yeah right, come a time when I might need a motorcycle part or something. Anyway it is great to be back home. Now what do I need for the RSV????
  5. I came up on the waiting list today and was able to order one of the Raspberry Pi single board computers. Paid for it via Paypal. Says up to 3 week delivery time. Raspberry Pi is a single board computer the size of a cigarette pack. Runs linux. total cost for the computer was $43 inc postage. requires a usb keyboard & mouse & video (one of several options). And a way to download their version of linux to a 4gb SD memory card. Or you can buy a pre-loaded memory card for another $18. The computer was designed by some university types in the UK for use by school kids learning to program. But at the price, a lot of people who want to try linux and programming are going to buy one. http://www.raspberrypi.org/
  6. Hello everyone, Figured my first post should contribute, so I hope this is something new. I didn't see anything similar here. I just bought an 01 RSV and my first addition is Sirius Satellite Radio, here's how I mounted it. Being one to use what's available rather than buy, if possible. I used parts of the suction cup mount that came with the reciever. I'll post some pics and if you have questions I'd be happy to answer them. Jay
  7. Friend asked me a question about the Guardian Bell. When you buy new bike and trade in old bike do you take your bell off and place it on new bike or do you buy new bell and trade with some-one?
  8. I've sent PMs to all that has placed an order. Please read the PM and reply back with answers to the questions. There will be a couple corresponding PM needed so please monitor your PMs. There are just a few members that have not replyed. This is holding up the Group Buy Order. Thanks Everyone
  9. Made up my mind this morning. Selling it all moving into town getting one room apartment with concrete all around. Nothing green in sight!! Sell car and truck. All Bikes. Sell Warden. Buy TV dinners. Buy plenty of Ammo. OK I'm done!! Things just not going as they should this morning!!!
  10. Do we have any storage shed builder's out here on this site kinda close in the area? I need a 6 or 7X12 shed with a 5 foot opening door on the 6 foot side and a floor inside. I am willing to buy the material and pay for labor for someone who might need extra money and give me a reasonable price. I am in a small trailer park and not a lot of room. Thanks Joe
  11. Life changes and it's sucky at times. I need to sell the ride to pay for the divorce. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4042 I've been holding off on selling for a few months hoping I could get through this and still keep my RSV. That just isn't going to be feasible. I'll buy another one once this storm passes.
  12. While we were marching on Rome, my stepson, Sean went for a 'bout 100 mile ride with a friend. They both ride the rattlecan brand, 'xcept hers is new and his is a customized job (barhopper). I'm told they were hitting 80-90 mph and turning of on the exit for home his bike died - totally, No loose battery connection or out of gas, just dead. Now his friends are saying the bike wasn't built for that kind of riding and that it was the ethanol at those speeds.:confused07::confused24: We probably all agree that ethanol is not good for most any engine other then a racecar maybe, but I've never heard of a bike flat out dying because it was driving too fast for the type of fuel you buy. Oh yeah, the "friends" are saying he should only buy plain gas, which of course would really turn this puppy in a bar hopper. So, I'm calling BS. (in spite of the fact that it's a Harley)
  13. The only aluminum on my 2006 RSTD is the brake/clutch levers and resevoirs. Can you buy chrome replacements for these? Where?
  14. Spot 2 on sale at best buy, $50. clicky
  15. Is there an alternative to the OEM Yamaha gas filter 1FK-24560-10 That can be used in the stock holder? They have less expensive filters at Autozone & advanced Auto (like the ones I buy for my beetle), but does anyone know what application would fit the holder? http://www.bikergarage101.com/media/00/a20791f12fec63c7847cbc_m.JPG Also what size diameter inlets are they 5/16 (ok 8 mm)?
  16. :fingers-crossed-emoHi guys I'm a newbee with a problem I need help with. I bought a 97 RSTD with 26000mi that was sitting up for two years. It starts but runs real ruff(suprise) I want to rebuild the carbs and since I'm adding aftermarket exhaust I want to re-jet. I was told I need to change the orings because of the ethenol in fuel these days, 1. Where is the best place to buy the rebuild kit? 2. What size jets do I need? 3. Is that true about the orings and if so will the orings in the kit do? If not where can I buy the orings? Also this bike pulls left hard at very slow speed. I know that all bikes have their quirks but, Is this normal? Any other suggestions will be appreciated Thanks for any help. John
  17. Is there anyone in the Pacific Northwest, hopefully along the I-5 corridor, that has carb sync equipment? Tuning my 99 RSV and just can't spend the hundred bucks right now to buy my own. I'd donate to the cause for your help. Oh, I'm in the Portland area, but willing to ride to where you are. Thanks, George
  18. So far we have a total of 11 interested. If I can get a total of 20 orders the cost would be $19.50 each and that would include me buying the mailer and also the postage. I myself would be willing to buy 3 extra making it a total of 14, for those who might be interested after the order is placed. Of the 11 interested maybe there might be 6 people that would buy 2, being that this is a pretty darn good price and might want to give one to a friend for say a Birthday or maybe a Christmas present or maybe your friend did you a favor and you just want to say thank you. For anyone buying two the 2nd would be $17.00 for 2.50 less on the mailer and shipping. So please indicate if you, the below, want 1 for 19.50 and if you would be interested in ordering 2. In your reply I need your Name Mailing Address. If the total confirmed order count is less than 20, I will then ask for a new price for that order and get back to each that order. friesman1 MasterGuns Flyinfool dingy yamtom Wizard765 camos KIC gscbertrand Indiana Hayseed PB&J .
  19. I am putting together a group buy for stainless steel side covers for the 1st gen. So far I have almost everything together, but for a small hitch. I am not sure which of the two banjo bolts pictured are stock. This is on the rear master cylinder. As you might notice in picture #1 the bolt has a thicker head than in picture #2. The bolt in picture #1 sticks out too far to make a nice application of the cover, so if someone could tell me which is stock, it would help when I go to post the group buy.
  20. Im going to have the carb off my bike maybe tomorrow, so i was wondering if instead of rebuilding it and not being able to ride it for a few days, if i could buy a vmax carb. Would it be possible to give it more power this way? Or will it just flood out the engine?
  21. This is not bike related. I have an Otterbox Defender Series protector for my Droid X. I have had it about a year and 2 months. The other day, the tab that holds the phone and its protectors in my belt clip broke. I checked the website and realized that the warranty was only a year. OK, so I will just buy a new belt clip. After not finding just the belt clip to buy, I contacted customer service via email explaining the circumstance and asking how to buy a new belt clip. In about an hour, I had a response that in short said give me the numbers off the clip, your name and address and I will send you one. Today, a replacement belt clip showed up in the mail as stated. This just does not happen with most businesses. I am impressed. I believe in passing on the good as well as the bad. I hope this helps someone decide to spend the extra money on a good item that is obviously backed by the company. :thumbsup2: :thumbsup2: FIVE THUMBS UP!
  22. Deal on sea foam at OReillys OReillyOnlineStore@oreillyauto.com http://view.s4.exacttarget.com/?j=fe9616767762057e70&m=fe9e15707566017574&ls=fdec15747c610d7a77127875&l=ff271d787761&s=fe2e16797560067c7d1576&jb=ffcf14&ju=fe591675726d017c7612&Et_cid=2626135&et_rid=290421816&linkid=http%3a%2f%2fview.s4.exacttarget.com%2f%3fj%3dfe9616767762057e70%26m%3d%%ex2%3bMemberID%%%26ls%3d%%ex2%3blistsubid%%%26l%3d%%ex2%3blistid%%%26s%3d%%ex2%3bSubscriberID%%%26jb%3d%%ex2%3b_JobSubscriberBatchID%%%26ju%3d%%ex2%3bjoburlid%%&r=0
  23. I recorded all the action last week, and now I'm finally getting around to watching the auction. Nice thing is, when recorded, I can fast-forward thru all the advertisements... and a lot of the auctions too. Seen one Camero Rat you've seen them all.... and there are always a bunch. One thing I noticed immediately on the first day the bid prices were up a bit from the past, and not as many 'wish-I-was-there-buys'. When i got into day two it seemed to me that car prices had doubled. Friday was even worse, and I just watched the first half of Saturday and started thinking... Wow!! only $85,000... what a steal.... A Shelbie GT350 ruster went for $350,000, and was lost among a bunch of 1.0-2.6 million bids. You gotta be kidding me.... Add the buyers premium and tax and those 2.5's add up to three very large..!! I remember when the place would erupt when a rare bid hit a mill. I'm wondering what these folks know that the common folks don't.. Sure they all have museums, and I suppose there's a way to write off the purchase, but I can't believe the IRS is going to buy into some of the prices. Anyway it's got me befuzzled. I saw one old 110 year old geezer buy 3 or 4 cars for 1 million plus... I bet he lost his drivers license 30 years ago... Anyway it's been interesting so far. Saturday night and Sunday are still in the can.... and can hardy wait....
  24. I have two lady friends who want to travel to the U.S. next year. They want to go to Sturgis and then tour around. What they want to do is purchase two bikes with buy back at the end. they will probably fly in to L.A. Bikes they want: Naked sport bike. MotoGuzzi 750-900 preferred, as that's what they ride now. But any Naked bike similar to this is okay. For around $2,000 Can anyone help with information?????
  25. I've got a Garmin 450 that came with the bike I bought it works great, actually the speedometer is far more accurate than the one on the bike and much easier to read, but the map is WAY out of date. Garmin wants like $75 to update the map online. I think at that price I can spend a little more and just buy a new GPS . Any one know if there's a way to go online and maybe download something from google , mapquest or anything???
