Let me see if I get this. If the Road King mufflers fit with only a couple of custom make brackets, then say Vance and Hines mufflers should fit with custom made brackets. True? If so that opens a lot of doors when it comes to changing exhaust.

Well, After looking everywhere for a good way to mount a set of passing lamps on my first gens this is what I came up with. While in the garage looking at my wifes gs 650g , I noticed that the windshied brackets might just work for this project. You know, the kind for the universal mount type shields. I guess I was actually onto something this time. They look great and are very adjustable, up, down in out and side to side. I hope this helps someone elce, any questions let me know if i can help. Best regards. Kurt

Ok folks, these are what the bike used to look like, (blue) and this is what I have done so far. Keep in mind that it's a work in progress, with a garage paint job. I'm pretty happy with it so far. Now waiting on Christmas to be over so I can spend more money. It still needs a new windshield, battery, Luggage rack, a set of lights for Squidleys brackets, and waiting on a set of Macs. Took out the radio, Going to go with Sirius Satelite. So I also need a set of headsets as well. Maybe Santa will bring me some of this stuff. I hope the pics are visible. Happy Holidays Everybody.

To all my G2 comrads, After much thought I have decided that I am not going to be making the Muffler brackets for the H/D mufflers to the G2. I haven't been real happy with how the last few sets have turned out and I dont have the proper equipment to make them how I want to see them. This being said I will not be taking any orders for them...but there is good news here. I have talked with Hilliss here on our site, he will be taking over making them as the need arises so if you want to get a set, he would be the man to get ahold of. I have a set of his brackets that he sent to me to look at, and I'll tell you that you wont be disappointed with them. His quality is top notch and I like his workmanship. I'm sorry if this comes as a bit of a shock, but you'll still be able to get your H/D mufflers on your G2....it just wont be with brackets made by me. Thank you to all of the members that purchased sets from me....we'll see you on the road

Mounting Driving Lights........
BoomerCPO posted a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I recently was given a nice set of 55-Watt driving lights for my 06 Midnight Venture. Question: Has anyone mounted driving lights onto the brackets for the small-clear wind deflectors which are located just below the headlight and over the front fender? My 1st impression is that these metal wind deflector brackets should be strong enough to support driving lights but I want to know if anyone else has done this without any problems with the brackets. -

I am about to purchase a set of 99 Road King mufflerss for my 06 RSTD. I was wondering if anyone could put me in touch with somebody building mounting brackets for these mufflers. Also, another question, I drilled out my stock mufflers and got a lot of popping on decel. I have plugged the AIS and still popping occurs. I am not talented enough to rejet or adjust the carbs, so I am going to put these mufflers on in hopes of making it sound better. If there is anyone in the state of Washington that would like to help out a Soldier with rejetting or adjustment please contact me. All the food and beer you can drink would gladdly be offered as payment for your help.

I'm looking for the brackets, or more appropriately the part#, that secure the front of the touring pack. There are two of them, one is 'S' or zig-zag shaped, and the second is an 'L' bracket. I've looked on Yamaha's and a few other web sites for the part#, but cannot locate the appropriate part. Before someone says that I can simply manufacture some out of material from Lowe's or such, I don't have a work shop to do this work at.

Not to be outdone with selling the 2nd genners the R/K brackets at $5 off normal price, I will extend the offer of the Driving light Brackets for you 1st genners with $5 off the normal price. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/835/cat/6/limit/recent/date/1156391368 This is as cheap as I can possibly go with the DLB's and I wouldn't be able to take anything else off them and still make money. So if you have been thinking about getting a set, I can promise you that they will never be any cheaper then they are right now. I will run this sale also till Memorial Day 2008.

Hey Folks, I have been wanting to talk with all the 2nd Genners who are interested in the Roadking muffler brackets. I have been out for a while and not able to make any since the accident. I have had a few that needed finishing, but they have been spoken for since the beginning of the year. I want to talk about the brackets themselves for a minute. I went to order some more material to make them. I have been using 10 gauge Stainless steel, but the price of it has jumped 3 fold Now I dont want to raise prices as I believe that $40 for the complete set is about as high as can be reasonable expected. I make these for the purpose of pure convienece, there isn't a lot of money in them when it all is added together with buying materials and shipping and whatnot. I have looked into making them out of Aluminum, it's plenty strong enough in the 3/16" thickness and will give years of trouble free service. To say the price of material is a lot better would be an understatement. Tell me what you folks think, I dont want to buy a sheet of Aluminum to find nobody is interested....I await your responces

Most of the older members know about the Driving light brackets that I made for my 1st gens for adding additional lights up higher. By keep them up higher it allows for better angling and free from road debris. They work great and will definitely brighten up the road and help you to be seen. They bolt on to where the horn originally goes and it takes about 10 minutes or less to install them on the bike. They only come in a Satin finish. This is only for the brackets, you'll have to pick out what lights you like best. The $30.00 price includes the shipping in the continental US. Canada will be $5 more, I have a couple dozen of these left and when they are gone....I'm not making anymore of them. PM me if you have any questions.

Front lighting on a budget. I like other drivers to see me at night and day! They are not the RSV classic look and add nothing to value of bike. I spent only $35 on these from WalMart. Mounted on front side reflector brackets (removed reflectors) and fork shield brackets.

Hello everyone. My post here is to let everyone know that I'll be suspending production of the Stebel horn brackets for a while. I'm in the midst of doing some home remodeling and just don't have the time or space in my garage at the moment to devote to making anymore for now. I will continue making them for as long as there's a demand for them thou, so just consider this a temporary set back till I can get back into production again Thanks to all who have purchased one to date. Larry
