  1. I have an 84 Venture and it has to go. New bike comming Friday Engine missing starter was a runner. Email me It's in Calgary. lots of parts fairing box of parts to vast to go through .It came with my Venture as a parts source. Don't call It's conditionally Gone Thanks Paul..
  2. Well this is my first try at posting some pictures, I think I have uploaded the pictures and if I have you will see that I have a Uni-go single wheel trailer, works well and I have pulled it about 3K to date. We use to have just the one Border Terrier (Connor) and he rode on the back in a box or in the box on the luggage rack if Mary Ann was along. This worked great and drew a lot of looks and picture taking. We we got another Border Terrier (Piper) and the box was just to small and the luggage rack shouldn't have 40 lbs on it . Need, the mother of invention, Put a removable floor in the Uni-go and made the metal cage, added a little canvas work and there you have it. The dogs love it and now they both can go. Just got back from 6 weeks in Florida and they probably rode over a thousand miles in it, Just say "Motorcycle" and they jump in
  3. I have an '08 RSV with 15k miles. Changed coolant, new iridium plugs and did carb synch. I noticed some oil on the outside top of the left rear portion of the air box. I removed the air box and found oil inside the box and all around the air intake hose clamp and a coating over much of the outside of left carbs (mostly the rear one. It looks like it has built up over time and was sorta dried and just grimey). I checked the breather tubes but there didn't seem to be much of a residue inside. Also, the air box cross tube connector foam sealer pieces were saturated. Does anyone have an idea where this is coming from? I had a Roadstar before the RSV and oil from the CC Breather would run out of the air box. Routing the breather to under the bike took care of that. If this is coming from the breather is there a way to re-route it somewhere else? Any ideas would be very appreciated. Thanks, Fred
  4. Well here i go, going to atemp to install some ALPINE speakers and AMPLIFIER speakers are not going to be the problem its the amp im concerned about.End result Juke Box on 2wheels that holds over 2000 songs. LOVE my tunes load and clear!!!!!
  5. Im trying to purchase side box leather covers for my 99 RSV can you help me?
  6. Hi, I have a top box from my blue '84 that is physically in good shape but has badly sun beaten paint and is missing the lock and hinge covers. I'd like to know if anyone wants it? Free to good home, you pay shipping. Can do some pictures if there is interest. I guess it'll go to the dump if there's not. Thanks, Brian H.
  7. I have a BRAND NEW front brake master cylander rebuild kit. Cost us more than 50 from the store. I haven't even had it out of the box yet or even shooken' it to see if its in there !!! Either way, I'll part with it for 40, because i really could use the money. See, the thing is, is that dad bought if for me, and i owe him, but i wont have any cash for awhile. I'll take a picture of the part and the box and post it on this forum, so if anyone is interested just send me a message. Not an email, a message on the site here!
  8. I know its been discussed here before but I am too lazy to search and really dont have the time to right now, I need to know what year rear box will fit and 83 without modification or maybe just a little of it. I have seen some 83-85 with an 86 box and wondering if its just a simple swap. After all my repair on mine some of the cracks have reappeared since they were repaired and repainted. I hate cracked plastic, and the bigger box would be nice also.
  9. Hi Folks I am new to the forum and just bought a 2009 RSV-S today. I am trying to integrate my GPS, Passport 8500 Radar Detector and XM into the aux input so that I can hear them over the bikes stereo system. I am not using a headset nor do I have bluetooth. Do I need a box like Mix-It to make this application work? Thanks for any inputs this is an awesome forum. Steve
  10. Just need enough $$$ to ship this 16 lb box to you via parcel post.
  11. I installed Amber Passing / Highway lamps on my Midnight, info on the box to show you what to order if you're also so interested in doing the same.. Lights were available at local NAPA dealer, you can see the part number on the box. I have a super bright headlight installed which is brighter than the highway lights, so I added the Amber lights to be more noticeable on the highway.. Some were asking about them, you can see it on my bike and decide if it's decent looking or 'uhgly' lol http://www.eastcoastphotos.com/venture/amberlights01.jpg http://www.eastcoastphotos.com/venture/amberlights02.jpg
  12. I was digging through the junk box the other day. Found a set of caliper covers off my old 83 VR. Yes:banana: more safety chrome!! Where can I put them. Wouldn't fit on the front. But on the back they make a nice license plate frame. Added a couple of lights and oblonged the holes to make them fit. I still have the old style Alberta plate (huge) so I don't know if it will work with smaller plates. But this should get the old gears turning.
  13. Ok 100% true. I went to a discount grocery, you know, the kind with no sackers and you box your own food. I took my 1/2 cart of paid for groceries to the boxing area, but there are no boxes... so I leave the cart and go to look for boxes. I return with boxes a couple of minutes later and no cart anywhere. After a minute of "What the **ck" I realized I have been robbed and I ran into the parking lot. There is only one family with more than one cart loading groceries. I would describe the family as extremely robust midgets. The tallest was a teenage girl who towered at 4'10" ish. It wouldn't have looked much out of place if these folks had been loading groceries onto donkeys to return to the coffee plantation in the mountains. No donkeys but instead they were loading into a Fordasaurus, one of those ancient huge LTD cars. They had 3 carts with mine between theirs. They had put a 12 pack of toilet paper and huge box of sanitary napkins over my groceries as camouflage. I ran up to them and screamed "what the hell is wrong with you!". The biggest girl giggled and said her parents didn't speak English. The parents kept loading loose groceries, none had been boxed, into the trunk. The parents never looked up and were seemingly oblivious and unaware of the screaming mad gringo. I ripped my cart out from the middle of the carts and started pushing it back to the store to box the groceries. A few seconds later the dad yelled in a heavy Spanish accent, "WAIT A MINUTE." I am now thinking, I came here to get milk, hamburger and cookies and somehow I'm going to be fighting a Mexican midget. The Dad rushed up to my cart and with burning angry outraged eyes... the eyes of a man who just had his sanitary napkins hijacked. He grabbed his 12 pack of toilet paper and huge box of sanitary napkins. It may have been the first time, in America, he was the victim of theft. Ok, so I'm back inside boxing up and here comes the 2 teenage girls. I guess their parents decided they now needed boxes since rapid exit was no longer necessary. The girls got their boxes and the tallest one smiles at me, not a malicious smile, but a smile like we had shared one very odd, but apparently not embarrassing moment. I'm pretty sure I could have taken the midget if push came to shove.
  14. Well last night I decided I wanted an electric fireplace. I don't have a heating system anymore here and it's been getting rough with the little electric ones I have at night. So I bought it and I'd have to pick it up in Suffolk at the Lowes. That was the closest one that still had any. So I leave after chatting with the muffinman and head up. Get the thing in the truck (took 3 guys to pick it up and put it in). Now I'm thinking wow I'm alone how am I gonna get this thing out of the truck. Being constructive I figured I get to that when I got home. So I get home pull the truck up to the porch and shove the box out of the bed onto the porch. So far so good. Now how do I get it in the house? Well I tried a few things and realized I wasn't getting the box in the house. I had even thought of hooking the dog up to it. Only problem would be getting it up off the porch into the door. Also the box was looking a bit wide to go through the door. So I decided go ahead and open the thing outside and get the parts in. Have you ever seen those industrial staples they use on these boxes. There's a line two each all the way across. Finally I get it open sort of then I got all this tape to get through. Once it's open it's way easier to get the parts out. There a bit heavy but way lighter then together in that box. Oh yeah the weight was about 104 I weigh just a little more then that. So now I got all these parts in the house to put together. I'll let you know how that goes. I'm thinking it's gotta be easier then getting it in the house was. Oh the fireplace is pretty big too. It's 42" high, 48.3" wide, and 14.5" deep. Now I gotta figure out where to put this thing. Guess I'll worry about that after I get it together. Margaret
  15. Does anyone have a good suggestion (pictures?) on where to mount an auxiliary fuse box? I'm going to clean up my wiring. I have heated grips, driving lights and a Deltran battery charger. I'm thinking of mounting this one on top of my existing stock fuse box. It is almost the same size and thin. I'll only use four of the eight fuse positions though (one for light switch). http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Products/Fuseboxes/PC-8/pc-8.html
  16. I am having a couple of problems on my 1989 Venture Royale. The first problem is the headlight. Works like a champ on high beam, but when you switch to low, it is very dim, and the warning light comes on. About 2 months ago, while driving home at night, the headlight stopped working. I assumed a blown fuse. After pulling the top off of the fuse box, I found that the fuse was not blown, but the plastic fuse box had been melted near the fontact points, and the contacts were burnt and broken. The next day, I bought a new fuse panel, and replaced the old glass fuses with ATM blade style fuses. After I rewired the box and installed all the fuses, everything worked perfect. About 2 weeks later, the low beam went very dim. Checked and changed the fuse, but still very dim. High beam is perfect. I am also getting a brake fluid light and I have checked the fluid many times. There is no problem with the fluid level, or the brake system. I have had 2 motorcycle mechanics verify this. Also, the computer leveling system is not working. When the key is switched to Acc. the system appears to try to turn on, and then I see what looks like an error code that says E4 and then the screen fades out and seems to lose power. in the corner it still reads PSI in very small letters. I have checked the power to the unit, and it is good. I unplugged the connector to the back of the unit and plugged it back in, and it still does the same thing. I cleaned the connectors, still no success. Then I held pressure on the back of the connector, and it worked. I was able to adjust the system with both automatic and manual settings. However as soon as I let go of the connector, it would turn back off. Any help with these 2 problems would be great. I have seen many posts about re-soldering cold joints, and I have thought about trying this. However, I was wondering if anybody might know a step by step on how to do this. Also, does anybody have pictures of these joints and what I am looking for. Thanks in advance for everybodys help.

  18. Anyone have one or heard of it? Basically you have a non-waterproof electronic device and you put it in this waterproof box. Click on the word Aqua below and it will take you to a web-site I found. Says it will work with any Ram mount. Also says the screen is flexible so you can use the touchscreen. Aqua Box
  19. I have a new Corbin seat it was on my bike for a 2 hr ride. I need to get rid of it I need some extra money for taxes and Xmas and I can do with out the seat. I have the box and wrap the seat came it. It still has the white chalk marks were Corbin laid out the stitching to sew the seat. I'll take $300.00 plus shipping.
  20. I will have to double check, not sure if that mileage is correct. I could have sworn I heard 50k, but could be wrong. Super clean bike though. I know the dealer has a couple questions since they aren't as familiar w/ the 1st gens. I will see if I can get them and post them for him. I know 1 of them has to do w/ the box that is on the front right side down by the brake caliper. It was something along the lines of if there is a way to make an adjustment. I can't completely tell you what the question is since I don't know what that box is for. Looks like they have the displacement wrong too. 1st Gen
  21. Ive seen a few places where people have asked where to find the TCI and boost sensor. This is how i got to mine and relocated it without pulling the air box, etc. from the right side with the chrome cover pulled off you can look up into the cavity and spot both, i was able to remove both TCI mounting screws from this spot (pulling out the black plastic/ rubber engine cover is a huge help. I used a small socket wrench with phillips head to gain the clearance. the boost sensor is accessible from here as well. I no longer have the tape deck installed in my 87 so thought i would relocate the TCI in the empty spot of the fairing. I pulled the left side of the fairing off, drilled a large enough hole in the inner panel and passed the wires through. put it all back together and velcroed the box in place.I have the cover that closes up the hole where the tape deck is from so its all sealed up and tidy looking.Seems like alot of you like your radios and im not sure it would all fit with my radio still there, but i thought i would share. #1 boost sensor harness #2 boost sensor vacuum line #3 TCI #4 front of air box if nothing else i hope this helps someone locate these if they are looking.
  22. Started with a plain 5X12 trailer. Added the $30.00 Chock from H/F. Then a Tongue Box from H/F. Really got lucky at AutoZone, Asked about the $229.00 polished aluminum tool box on display. Clerk said "you don't want that one, it is bent on the bottom." Oh Heck YES I want that one, whatcha want for it!!!??? Manager says $120.00. Ya think I could pass that up? Added a spare on the rack and new radials on the ground.
  23. First, I want to thank you all for your help. It looks like the solenoid is on the outside of the battery box on the left side. I tried to get it out but the wires are too short. I can not see it from the left side as there is steel in front of it. All I have on the left side is a fuse box with a top on it and more wires. I am at a loss.:225:The bike is a 2000
  24. Recently, I had started putting together a mobile garage. I did this for 2 reasons, sooner or later I will be leaving Wainwright for home, with a bunch more stuff, than I arrived here with... This will also give me a dry place, to work on scoots, back on the wet coast. I took 3 pics today, of the setup work done over the last 3 weekends, since getting the trailer. I will be adding more lights, but CDN Tire was out of the ones, I'm using over the workbench (which is roughed in but not finished). The tool box is bigger than what I was going to put in. But with the current sale price, I couldn't really pass it up. $1,000. normally, $625. Sale price + additional $350 Bonus card, to get more goodies. So I figure $275 for the tool box, I'm grabbing it, besides I was eyeing it for about 1.5 years.......... :mo money:
  25. I have noticed a funny rattleing sound ,that I think may be coming from the exhaust.I have been told that these bikes have a problem with the collector box! Is this true and is there a fix? Thanks Stan
