How in the h*&% does this thing go on? Of course the manual and pics are useless for this. Does the circlip go on first in the groove then the joint goes on after. Does the circlip ride between the o-rings in the joint? How can that be without damaging the orings with the circlip unless the the circlip stays at the bottom of the joint, keeping it from moving down, but it seemed to be in the center when I removed it, and the wear on it appears to indicate it rides in the center groove where the air hole is. Simple little thing kept me from being backtogether an hour ago. Anybody knowledgable here at the moment?

How in the name of all that is holy do I get an air hose onto the front tire valve ? My compressor has the long stem which cannot fit -- I'm buying a air gauge with a 45 degree head -- I'm betting one of the companies sells an adapter for the hose too ? Thnx, DREBBIN

Ok so i have the 99 rsv and have never hand problem in last 3 years with this i need some help. up to about 6 months ago the passanger was 5' 8 and about 105 lbs. But when i got the "you work to much and when you are not working you are riding and i just dont enjoy that anymore." I upgraded to a new passanger. she is 5' 10 and well about 150 lbs i would say. well this is cause the bike to sit very low and in a on ramp or off ramp turn i am scraping pipes. has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it. I added a little more air to the back shock but that did not seem to help to to much and dont want to push adding to much more there. do i jsut need to go to an after market air shock or any other ideas?

OK I've got calipers and parts all over the place now! Have one set restored with existing parts and another with rebuilds. I've got two questions: 1) The seal rebuild kit came with a packet of pink goo. Is that lubricant or seal setter or what? 2) The set I've put back on is a rear & front linked combo on one of the '83s. I've bled the b'jeepers out of them (2 full bottles) - everything coming out is clean fluid on both sides, but they're still mushy as all get out! There's got to be some air stuck in there. How do I get it out??? I'm using a mighty vac and the bleeding is working OK. I saw another thread on the subject but I didn't see a clear solution. Any thoughts?? Thanks

I am getting ready to get an RSV, when I do I am planning on changing the pipes to Bub's sleeper slip ons. When I did my Vstar V1100, I also changed out the air kit to a Baron's Big Air kit. Is that recommend for the RSV as well? Or is there a need to? I know that when I did my Vstar they told me that my performance would increase by 17%..which it did. But they also told me that I could lose some gase mileage. In fact my gas milage increased. We just came off of a long run and I was averaging 49 mpg. I guess my main question is wether or not you should change out the air kit as well.

Not sure I'm in the right forum for this since I'm new to Venturerider.org I just moved up from a V-Star 1100 Classic to a Venture and am in dire need of more (cooler) air in the riders seat. Any suggestions on windshield replacements, removing lowers in summer etc. will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chief2756

Connecting the Front Air Forks on the Second Generation Venture Here is a link to this kit at Dennis Kirk. http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp;jsessionid=VFN5LLHK4G5JLLA0WTVSM4VMDK0NCIV0?store=Main&skuId=58318 One of the least expensive but best modifications I have made to my '99 Royal Star Venture was the addition of this "Air Fork Balance Kit". As those of you who own the new Venture know, the front forks are separate and the maximum air pressure is 7 psi. It is very difficult to get the pressure equal and that is where this kit comes in handy. The kit is made by Progressive Suspension and is available from Dennis Kirk. The part number is 58318 and the price is $23.99. You can order it by calling Dennis Kirk at 1-800-328-9280 and using the part number listed. Installation is simple and requires only about 15 minutes. You simply remove the valve stem cores from the existing valves, screw these two caps onto the existing valve stems, connect them with the included tubing and you are done. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-001F.jpe Right Side. Look closely and you can see where the connecting tube hooks to the small nylon nipple. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-002F.jpe Right Side Again. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-003F.jpe and again............ http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-004F.jpe Left side. Again, you can see the tube which connects to the right side. I ran it behind the rubber handlebar dampers so you don't really see it unless you are really looking. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-005F.jpe This is what you see from the drivers seat. Here are the simple instructions for installation. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/afbk_diag.gif
