I have a small problem now. I bid on a Garmin 2730 on the 23rd of Dec and then promptly forgot about it because it was only for $199. Then the other day I was in a pawn shop. (my wifes family owns 2 and I am addicted) and saw a Zumo 550 (no mount or cable) for $20!!!!!!. When I got home I found out that I won the 2730 also. Which one should I mount? I have to buy the complete wiring and mount for the zumo, but think I would prefer it afterwards. What do you think?

I'm beginning to plan our big trip for next summer and we're planing to ride through Colorado again. Our plan is to ride from Santa Fe to Durango and on north the Rocky Mtn National Park. I need some advice on our route from Durango to Ridgeway. While I would like to make the complete loop of highways 550 and 145 but that would require backtracking. So my question is which route is the best ride if you can only go one way? Through Mesa Verde to 145 and on to 62 or just straight up 550? On the map 550 looks more interesting. Dennis

I was hoping someone could answer my questions about XM reception in Canada. I am about to purchase a Zumo 550 from Radioworld in Toronto. I will likely get the XM puck as well so I can have satelite radio and XM weather. Has anyone had experience with Radioworld? There price seems fair and they have everthing I need in stock. Does anyone have the XM weather/traffic option in Canada? Does it meet your expectations and work in Canada? Jim

I have a Zumo 550, used it today, disconnected it and when I plugged it in to return home, it would not turn on. Have tried charging it and nothing happens. Battery was at a full charge when it was turned off. This happened once before right after I bought it, took it back to Best Buy, they got it working but wouldn't tell me what they did to get it working again. Has anybody else had this problem. It is only one year old 5/25.

I have a chance to get a a ZUMO 550 for the bike, can it be connected up my stereo on my 1st gen and use the intercom system, or should I install helmet bluetooths for me and the Mrs.?

As you are all contemplating the purchase of a zumo 550, please keep in mind that the bluetooth portion is for the cell phone connection. It does NOT give STEREO output for the MP3 player. The only way to get stereo is out of the hardwire plug. Now, the new Zumo 660 will support stereo sound over bluetooth. However, the 660 does not have XM capability. Also, I don't believe the 550 will support 2 connections over bluetooth at the same time. So, riding 2 up would force 1 person to be in silence unless the helmet of 1 would rebroadcast to another. JB

Do any of you use the XM radio thru the Garmin 550. If so where did you get your antenna (GXM 30) and how much did it cost. Do you get good reception with it and any troubles with it. Thanks for the info. Lyle

Hi Guys, Bought a Garmin Nuvi 550, I currently have it hooked up with through the audio in/out. I want to be able to "Key" the mic so that when the GPS gives audible directions the "keying" of the mic will let the other riders hear whats being said along with me. When I key the mic now, I can't hear whats being said and nobody else can hear anything...... What am i doing wrong? I know it's possible as I think somebody else has it working from a group ride I was on last year.

Going through some old boxes I found some old pics of Jeans 550 Honda and my 750 Honda SS. The 550 was on a trip to Mt Washington NH circa 1978. Also some pics of my trailer, which I sold a few years ago.

I had the fairing apart removing the cassette player and decided to take out the Kennedy cellset for my Zumo 550. It works fine, puts Zumo audio and telephone through the headsets but I may have used it twice in the last last year or so. Anyway if anyone is interested here what is included: KT-CELL-INT-FPD 5 pin cellset intercom harness KT-95413 cellset MC/GPS-ICS/MIC KT-95423 Zumo device harness A 12v power cord will be needed or one can be ordered from Kennedy for $20. $130 includes shipping via USPS, parts list for $225. More information and diagrams available at http://www.cellset.com/multigps.html

Anybody ever delt with this place http://www.prestigecamera.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ID=3645363&l=LOWPRICEDIGITAL ? They have the Zuma 550 for $479. That is almost too good to be true. After the week long ride on the Blue Ridge, the wife wants something that will help locate hotels and shopping areas. God Bless her.

Best Buy lists the zumo 500 for $899 on their web site but many of the stores are clearing them out for $539 as an in store special only. If you go to the website, look up the 550 then use the link to do a search for a local store with one in stock you may get lucky.. The web site continues to show $899 but if you have a local store with one in stock, call them, they may be doing the in store special. There were none in stock anywhere near me in North Florida but another store by a friend had one, he picked it up for me and is shipping it to me. I also noticed two stores in Orlando show them in stock.

I am loking at buying the Zumo 550 and just have a couple questions I can't seem to find answers to on the web. Will the Zumo wire into our radios the same as an MP3 player or XM radio? I have read a lot about bluetooth headsets or ear buds but want to just plug it in to the radio. If it does plug into our radios will the MP3 play in stereo? Is it worth the extra money for the 550 instead of the 450? Bluetooth is not as important to me but I like the XM radio. Is there any cheaper option than almost $200 for the XM radio antenna? I now have a seperate XM radio and a MP3 player on the bike, neither of which is waterproof. I'm just looking at one thing that will give me the GPS plus the other features. Thanks for your input.
