  1. I am interested in putting fish tails on my 2006 RSTD. Anyone know if there is anyplace that a guy can get just the tips for my stock mufflers or if the mufflers from a a place like J.C. Whitney with the fish tail ends will fit. After doing some measuring I wonder if those who be to short? Any help will be greatly appreciated. neskypilot
  2. Rode to work this morning. When I left work saw lots of bikes, including a 2006 Black Cherry RSV at UPS in Louisville and a Midnight RSV across the river in Jeffersonville, IN.
  3. I have been considering buying a camper. I ride a 2006 RSV. I have been looking at the Timeout Campers and really like what I see. Especially the largest one that comes with the air mattress, table and chair. Since I have never pulled trailers with a bike, I was needing to know if the Timeout Camper would be too heavy or if it would be ok for my Venture. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  5. Is is OK if I stick around and harass you good people ???? There just was not room in my stable for three bikes and I just had to buy the 2006 Stratoliner S to go along with the 2006 GL1800 Goldwing... DON'T HATE ME!!!! :crying: I'd still be proud to ride with y'all so please don't forget to holler at me when you come to San Angleo... :smile5:
  6. Kinda interesting. I've been tracking all 1stGen sales on Ebay for the last 3 years... yeah I know I've got a lot of time on my hands.... Sales of 1st gen's for the month of Novenber 2006 was 15 bikes and the adverage $ was $1822.00 per bike. For Nov 2007, 14 bikes sold and the average selling price was$1519.00. This year only 4 bikes ended up going to new owners, and the average was $1706.00. What does this mean?? I don't know, but I've noticed several bikes never making reserve. The ones that sold were listed with a lower first bid, and no reserve. When they did sell they did fairly average compared to 2006 and 2007.

  15. Well Hello all: I just wanted to re-introduce myself. My name is Sonny, and I live in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. I joined this forum a few years back, to get some information about the RSTD and Venture. Well, after years of wanting 1, and many many MANY slipping through my fingers, I finally found what I think, is the best deal I could have. I just purchased a BRAND NEW 2006, yes 2006 white RSTD. Full warranty, no miles, just built. And coincidently, I just sold my 2003 Honda Shadow ACE today as well. I am hoping to have pictures very soon. And hopefully meet some of you this summer, because I plan to log lots of miles, with my unlimited mileage, 5 year warranty. I am so excited, like a kid on Christmas. Now, before you ask, I will give you the price I paid out the door, after Saturday, when I pick it up, and it is mine, call me superstitious, but I don't want to jinx anything. I think when you hear what I paid, you will agree I could not have asked for better. Just out of curiosity, what do you think a great price for that bike would be? Be serious. It has no extras, just built out of the crate. I took all the yamaha buyer incentives, including this years $1400 rebate, paid cash. And also, what do you think I should spend some $$ on accessory wise? Any other suggestions? I am open to all feedback. Sorry for rambling, and glad to be here!!

  21. I stopped by Santa Clarita Motorsports tonight on the way home from work to pick up a part for my bike and when I walked through the showroom, there was a 2006 Black RSV (NEW). It is marked down to $12,999 OTD (Out the door, taxes, tags, everything, etc.) If anyone is interested you can call Al Sayani at (661) 259-8460. The shop is in Newhall, CA (part of Santa Clarita). Wish I could have gotten that deal on my 2006 Black Cherry. It's BEAUTIFUL..........but.........BLACK.
  22. Hey, all: I was wondering if anyone could help? I have a 2006 Venture and was wondering if I could plug only a CB mike into the 5-pin communicator outlet? I've seen Harleys and Hondas be able to do this but theirs is a 7 (or 8?) pin outlet? Also, if it can be done... any idea where to get one? I'm in Barrie, Ontario area. I tried "The Source" but no luck. My wife and I don't use the communicator outlets because I don't have them and if I did, I would have to buy new helmets as well. That expense isn't realistic right now. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Skunk
  23. Hi Can anyone tell me how to remove the front (driver's) seat from a 2006 RSV???? Thanks in advance SpEEd Safely CG
  24. I’d be curious to know how many riders have experienced survivable collisions with other moving vehicles in the course of their riding careers. I thought others might be interested in some of the details surrounding a collision I had in September 2006. I got my new 2006 black cherry RSV in January 2006, trading up from a 1500 LC Intruder. I’d been riding for 15 years before my first (and only so far) collision. It was a temperate rainy Virginia morning, riding to work in a light steady rain. The time was 0745 and I was about 12 miles from home on a two lane road. I started from a stop light and had gone about 500 yards and was up to about 30 mph when a young woman pulled out at the last second from a side street on my right (she was trying to turn left, opposite my direction of travel). I locked up the brakes, slightly angling to the right with no opportunity to avoid the collision. When we collided, my left side smacked into her left side back near her sedan’s rear wheel well. My momentum came to an abrupt halt as our vehicles separated and I and the 06 RSV flopped over on the left side – no sliding or tumbling involved. I landed on my left butt and left elbow. I was wearing Firstgear rain boots, a Nelson-Riggs rain suit, HJC full face helmet, and gloves (don’t remember what kind). Underneath I was wearing a polyester dress shirt (sans tie) and dockers. There were no tears or damage to the rain suit, nor my shirt, but I had a silver dollar sized road rash just below my left elbow. Lots of soreness over the next few days, but no other injury. My poor baby (black cherry 2006 2nd Gen) was lying completely flat on her left side. I had dropped her a few times in a parking lot when I first got her due to the top heaviness (embarrassing moments), but she always just leaned on the engine guards causing little to no damage. In this case though, she was seriously wounded. The most visible damage was the crumpled engine guard, shattered left lower fairing and broken left mirror. At first I though I would ride her home and call it a day, but after the ambulance crew checked me out and the police took my statement, I discovered the shift lever was bent and it wasn’t rideable. The ambulance crew was kind enough to drop me at my office close by and the tow truck took the bike to the dealer. Over the course of the next month, the dealer identified all the parts that would need to be replaced (since it was nearly new, all the damage was a result of the collision) and the parts total not including labor was over $8000. The girl’s insurance (USAA) considered it totaled – paid off the loan, compensated me for 30 days time without the bike and threw in some extra cash (probably because I didn’t have a hospital bill). I was fortunate enough to be able to acquire another black cherry 2006 from the dealer and came away pretty much break-even. I’ve included some photos of the damage. It’s a sample size of one, and a few milliseconds either way could have changed the nature of the collision, but I believe the big heavy RSV really helped mitigate the impact with the foreign mid-sized sedan. Now I wear jacket and pants with armor religiously and the first thing I added to the new bike was passing lamps and a rear LED brake light. I also watch very closely as I approach side streets to see if there is any indication some idiot may jump across my path.
