I have several versions of the 83 Service Manual that I have downloaded and they are all missing some common pages. Pages are only partially scanned and have large black areas on them. There are 10 pages missing or incomplete. I included page 183 below so you can see what I am referring to. Would someone that has a hard copy manual please scan these pages and send them to me. The higher the scan resolution the better. I have the software that I can replace the bad pages and I will post a complete manual. First number is chapter & page number in printed manual, followed by what appears to be detailed on that page. I have a 1983 Venture motorcycle. I need to replace the anti-dives on it and was wondering if the models from 1983 1984 and 1985 are all the same part number for the anti-dives? I want to be sure to order the correct anti-dive. Also, do you know where I could buy a pair of used anti-dives for this bike? Any information you can give me is much appreciated. Thanks. recently got a 1983 venture and was looking at several pics on-line and noticed that i haven't seen one that has a front fender like mine. i was just wondering if it was a special edition trim or just some retard trying to dress up the bike, anyway the front fender has a rack on it kinda like a luggage rack and it also has a running light on the top of the fender. kinda like the old indians had (no indian head just a running light) any thoughts???????? later

Hey everyone, OK, I bought a 1983 VR a few months ago. Love it! Runs great! Looks good. But it had a bit of an exhaust leak. I thought that it might be something with the rear manifold pipes running down to the h-pipe (or whatever its called.) So I went to e-bay and picked up the parts I needed. The only problem is, now that I've put them all back together, the leak is even worse. I don't know what to do now. I'm very frustrated. I've taken these things off and put them back on mulitiple times. I just don't know how to seal them any better. Should I use something like J-B weld? Or is there something else? I've looked over the forum but can't seem to find anything that will help. ~ Frustrated in Ohio -
Fairing for 1983 venture..

Bought a 83 venture. Front fairings are pretty beat up, was wondering what years are interchangable for the 1983 fairings? I'm going to look around and see if i can find any before i try rebuilding the ones i have.. Still working on cleaning out the back (and front left) brake lines. Thanks to the info on this site i know what to do! lol -
It's been my understanding that all the '83 1200TDK Royale's came in Gold, and the standard 1200TD's came in Red, plus a Black Midnight. That's what it also says for the colors in the tech section. Well guess what kimosabe?? I just bought a 1983 1200TDK in RED.... The born on date shows 10/83, but the serial number is a low DA000316. From the date I thought it might be possible to have a late '83 model that had received '84 clothing. But the serial number says it's the 216th Royale built? I like to play detective and figure things out by looking at the clues, but this thing has me stumped??? It's definately rare...

I need a windshield for my 1990 Yamaha Venture. I found one on Ebay for the 1983 Venture. Do you know if the 1983 windshield also fits the 1990 Venture. Thanks. Maurice.

1983 parts interchangability??

Hi everyone. My first time here. I've always wanted a venture and now I got one. 1983 that is in ok shape. My question is this..... what years parts fit what bike? I see all kinds of parts on ebay, some say 83-86 and others say 86 to 94... but to me the bikes look the same? I'm going to want mufflers, and plastic pieces of the fairing and glove boxes. Thanks in advance. -
Hi Guys, as i wrecked my Windshield yesterday while cleaning, i could get one of a '83. Question is, will this 1983 Windshield fit to my 1993 ? From the Pics i've seen, i might fit .... might fit... Is there anybody who can confirm this ? -
