get another spring, if it still slips, put both springs on, that helped mine.

Great bike. I have had 4 gold wings and a memeber of GWRRA for over 27 years. Rides better than any GW that I have every had. I have 104k on mine and my longest run was 1240 miles in 20 hr, the next day 600 miles and the next day 600 miles. Just got back from the smokie mts on 1400 mile trip.
Was hauling my bike on a trailer and lost my seat. If any one knows where there is a factory seat for my 2002, please let me know.
Ride safe, bike is top heavy especially when doing dead stick turns such as in middle of road. But when you get your feet up and roll the throttle, it is a great ride. Ran mine 90 to 110 all day long across the desert out west, not recommended but was riding hard.

that is what mine is, but that one is in rough shape.
I was of hopes someone on this site has up graded to an after market seat and would have one they would sell or let go. thank you for your response.
I'm sure someone on here has one or know someone who does. How could I get more members on here to see my post.

THANKS WILL TRY THIS SITE. wHAT IS BEST SPARK PLUGS. i PUT NEW IN APP 14K AGO(CHAMPIONS I THINK), now it is skipping when I it is cold, not as bad as when warms up but still not right. I may have gotten some water in gas on a trip. any suggestions as how to clear it up?? thanks

PLEASE NEED HELP ON MUFFLER LEAK. The power sports motorcycle shop in ocla fl changed my tire when I had a blow out on a trip. they messed up the wrap that goes around my pipe to makes muffler fit tight. I never had a problem taking off and putting back on but they crammed it back up in pipe and messed it up, and now I have a leak on right side. What and where can I get some more wrap to put back? Can not stand the sound only from one side.

I use floor jack from Harbor Freight. My m/c man charges $7 to change and mount tire.

I have 2002 rsv with 90k miles. rear schock blew and is leaking. I saw on here somewhere that a guy had mastered the task of rebuilding a rear schock. Please if you know where I can find this post or how to get in touch with the guy, let me know. thank you maddog, (gwmonkey2000@yahoo.com)

I have a 2002 midnight rsv with 85k. Have lowering kit on rear but handles bad at low speeds. I see where you can lower front by sliding tubes. Does this easy fix work? Love my bike but having coolant leak also for 1st time and shock leaking.

Had similar thing happen to me. Call yamaha dealer, jim martin in fitzgerald ga. and he told me that I probably had moisture in my lines. Mine would pull in but would not dis in gauage the clutch. Changed fluid 2 or 3 times to flush all old out and put in new fluid and had no more trouble. Got moisture in mine coming out of
Tosa nm down into Albuquerque nm. I NEED HELP WITH MY REAR SHOCK, it is leaking and I have a lowering kit on it. what schock do I need, where to find, can it be rebuilt, and how much? I do not seem to be able to find anything trying to search on this site.

I have my 2002 midnight venture down for valve gaskets and doing adjustment while in there. I have app 82k and never been into it. I just bought a tool and was wondering if I could find the shim kit and be able to use it. I have a man doing the work and he said some are running at .03 on intake(should be 4 to 6) and exhaust is .06(should be 6 to 8. what do you suggest to put these back to and do you leave the 6 where it is. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yes 2002 midnight venture. thanks v1100, for you detailed info. I just made a new windshield and put it on. Just a few more steps to get the fairing off. Do I put the di-electric grease on the pins or just on the housing to seal out moisture? thanks all yall for your input. I see cords for sale on Pinwall cycle that I will order. maddog:cool10:

My headset cord is bad, the cord that is on the gas tank. How do you and how hard is it to change or maybe have a new end put on by soldering?? I see that I can get a used one at Pinwall. Any help will be appreciated. thanks , maddog:fingers-crossed-emo

It is the cord on the tank. I have new headset cords and they work fine with the passenger cord but loose in the front tank cord. If anybody has any info on how to and what is involed in changing this cord, please let me know. thanks:bowdown:

I have a new clutch for my 2002 and would like to know if someone can tell me what steps to take. Do I have to drop the exhaust and oil, or what. Any help will be appreciated.

I know a man in flordia called Mr T. He is 85 and has over 285K and still going on a 99 white RSV. Another man that bought his RSV in fitzgearl ga has over 300K as of last year this time, don't know how many he has now. I have had 5 goldwings and have a 1500 now but my RSV is a better ride.
