Installed saddlebag guards, yanked the side covers off to start a stator/regulator upgrade, put bearings and seals in the VMax pumpkin so I can get it back under the bike. I’ve been running the OEM pumpkin since Vogel.

I got some beer in the fridge,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,just sayin

  2. Don't go, we are friends first and upper most, then we talk about bikes, or the lack there of. Don't matter if you arrive on 2 wheels, three wheels, or four wheels. Just don't ask us to change the tires on 18 wheels.

  3. The Creator of this world still has His hand in running things here, even the 'small' things. He does a lot of things to show us how He still is in control, we just have to look and want to see His hand in it all. Will ask for a good outcome for you all, keep us posted!

Suffern sucatash. Fail to go to the site for a day or two and ya start to get blamed for all sorts of stuff. Fact is all you ingrates, is the weather  has been warmer up here than down there of late, so being a good Canadian I left the door open so as to share some of our warm air with you. But if its closing the door you want than so it shall be.

And by the way if by chance some cold air down there did come from  up here, it was @Marcarl doing. He is the one with the big meat coolers and egery now and again he just plum forgets to close the doors.

A day or two?????????? It's been almost 3 weeks!!!!!!!!! We thought you might have left the planet and shot to the moon!! Don't start blaming me for your mishaps, we're Dutch and don't open our cooler or freezer doors unless tootally necesaary. You are further north than me so it's your task to keep an eye on the weather door, whether it be closed or open. Stay on your toes young man, or we'll have to retire you so that you have more time.  HaHa

Hello all, hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year!

I've not got round to checking any of the above, however, I'm hoping this weekend I will.

When I removed the gas tank last time, fuel leaked out of the gas cap as I took the tank off (quite a full tank).

Im now thinking if gas can get out.... rain can get in, sink into the carbs and cause the low power/stuttering in rain conditions.

Any thoughts or is that unlikely?  Just want to cover all bases before I start.

    Cheers

Not likely but I have only Canadian experience. You can drain the carb bowls to discover your answer. Leave the petcock as you drain so that fresh fuel will push any moisture out. Use a glass jar to catch the affluent so you can see if there was anything untowards in there.

  7. I don't ride two wheels anymore at this time. Went out in 2014 and bought a CanAm and we don't ride it much either, but that don't mean I don't have a 1st gen sitting in the garage,,, yep sure do!!, It's an  86 that's sat for about 5 years or so, maybe 4, and used to belong to Swifty. It's needs to be refurbished and that is my winter project, if winter ever gets here. Bought the 86 for one of my nephews. I don't think the Wagner will fit the 86 and I don't wear caps or hats, so I guess I'm out, but then with my luck I was out before the game started anyways.

Just went to get the 2007 RSV bike running again. Stored in my heated garage. The 2-year-old battery was completely dead. Put in the new battery and hooked up the positive, then went to hook up the negative and the bike starts turning over without hitting the start button.  I took out the ignition fuse and it still starts to turn over. Took out the key and it still starts to turn over. This was not the case went I put it in its storage spot. I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be appreciated again. Thank you.

First make sure you have the positive (red wire) hooked to the positive post on the battery.

Then you'll need to find the solenoid for the starter, the battery red wire leads to it. Unhook the small wire from the solenoid  and then the red wire to the battery. If this works the way it should then I would dig into the ignition switch.
