  1. I'd like to know more about the Rivco Hitch - any issues while pulling your trailer?

Also, for those who worry about voiding warrantees its good to know that in 1975 the federal government passed a set of laws called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This act states your vehicle warranty cannot be voided or canceled for using any non-original equipment manufacturer (O.E.M.) part or accessory (like a trailer hitch, filter, or oil) unless the manufacturer of the vehicle can prove the use of this non-O.E.M. part or accessory caused a failure of any part or parts on the vehicle. Usually quoting this fact to the dealer or manufacturer changes their attitude pretty quickly!

curious about the trailer your pullin what kind of weight and how the ride is ?

I have noticed on the RVTC that it picks up side draft winds pretty good and image the trailer might tend to whip Your thoughts ?

    Thanks

  2. I did receive the seat, heated, not cooled. No big deal for the lack of cooling. It's been dropped from Corbin's website. Install was pretty simple. You disconnect the seat heater harness and it's no longer used. The heat is either, on or off. The controls in the dash are now, "grayed out." I don't have enough miles yet to say it's better or worse than the stock seat. I had ridden 2 hours solid on the stock seat and had no complaints. What I needed was the backrest and I will say the Corbin is the best I've had. I'm 6'3" and the backrest makes the posture better and the ride much more comfortable. Was it worth $1500????? Well, the passenger seat was what was most important to me, but again the stock seat was pretty nice, according to my wife.

I do sit one to two inches further back and I like that as well. I'll know more in a couple thousand miles.

That seat sure looks comefy !! I ordered the raised back from Yamaha and will hopefully be installing this weekend , will see if the heated back works well . I had the Corbin on my last ride but the seat had been modified by previous rider and took some getting used too....

  3. Howdy folks

Just reached 400 miles on my 2018 TC Venture. Got one off the lot couple hundred miles from me was on pretty good discount .

I too have noticed some things with the bike and settings. Definitely appreciate the heated seat and grips rode her home couple hundred miles from the dealership in the rain and 37 degree temps.

Grips need getting used to and seat can get too warm will be adjusting the "low setting" down from 3 to maybe 1.

Curious about the wider windscreen as the original does give some buffeting also is the height setting adjustable , seems that the settings screen allows them but the buttons on the tank over ride the adjustment? The power curve is great and just getting used to belt drive and where the rev limiter is. I do hope the send out a software push for the GPS would be nice to save way points like my old Zumo had.Looking to figure comms with this bike , I am used to being tethered however Bluetooth sounds like it would have a advantage of no cord dragging on the tank....

  4. Trying to figure out best Setup so I can order. Wife and I would like to go on some twistys and looking to get comms setup and have been reading alot , looking for some guideance on Wired or wireless and also regards to using the CB heard intercom and Cb push to talk transmits both riders ?

    Any wisdom would be great.

looking to get socially distant if you know what I mean......

    vrrrrm vrrrrm..

  5. If you don't leave the receiver in when you are not using it, you will probably never have to cut it off with a torch. Keeping the inside of the receiver greased will also help to prevent it from rusting.

On the other hand, if you never ride in the rain, it will probably never rust.

The Venture Frame looks fairly stout but curious about the welds . Other hitch manufacturers only use the upper and lower connections , wonder what the strength is there versus your full setup?

getting ready to purchase a hitch and looking for some warm fuzzies....

  6. I purchased the led passing lamps to replace original sealed beams for my bike but unfortunately it seems there is an issue with the "bezel " or size of the bucket not sure if i need to replace with "STR-4NK35-10-00" ? Are they the same bucket or am I missing something??

I can squeeze it in but without the rubber surround gasket that is attached....

    Thanks

I finally found my answer from a seller :

"LED Passing lamp retro fit kit for Yamaha cruisers that currently have H3 driving lights. Does NOT fit the bucket from sealed beam passing lamps." ........................................

  7. One question. What Yamaha housings do you have? They made two driving light housings. One for the RSV and the other for the rest of the field. The RSV housing has the horizonal bolt and the others have a vertical bolt. I have the bezel with horizonal bolt on mine. The LED light sets in the bucket and the foam spacer in the bezel to hold everything tight. If you have the bezel with the vertical bolt you will have problems getting things lined up.

The LED lamps that you have are they they the Yamaha "focused beam with Angel eye halo " ?

  8. Hey guys just wanted to share this with you. My only child, my daughter Hanna was killed this past Friday night in Charlotte NC, She was out with some friends celebrating a friends birthday, when they made a U turn (legally) and a Yamaha R1 running 125 mph in downtown Charlotte, hit the back passenger side door where she was sitting, and running all the way through the back seat to the other rear door, killing all three in the back seat. The guy that hit them was 22 also, and had temp tags on the bike because he'd just wrecked his other one!

My daughter was 22 years old, had everything great going for her! She went to school for orthodontics, and was just hired Friday for a job she'd wanted so so bad in orthodontics. She was to move into her new apartment the next day. My last words to her was I'd see her tomorrow at 3:00 to move her in. But instead of moving her at 3:00, I was picking out her casket exactly at 3:00.

We were best friends and buddys. Everyone said if you seen one you seen the other! She got to ride on my Venture I had just bought for the first time a week ago. I put her helmet in the casket with her, because it will never be worn by anyone else, It had a sticker on the back that said, "My Dads Biker Buddy". She was extremely well known and loved by many. There was over 400 came through the visitation Tuesday night!

The ONLY thing that I can get positive from this is, she died instantly and didn't experience any pain. She was so happy getting her new job that day, getting her new apartment, and being out with her friends. I just do NOT know how I am going to be able to carry on without her. She was my life. If I do survive, I don't know if I can throw a leg over a bike again or not! You raise your child to be careful in everything they do, and SHE WAS!! But who would EVER think their child would be killed in a back seat of a car, by a MOTORCYCLE!!

Probably the last time you'll ever hear from me on here! Be safe guys!!

I am deeply sorry for your loss its not supposed to happen this way .

We are supposed to outlive our children and life is not fair sometimes for the best of us.

I do cherish the time I took my Daughter for a weekend trip for her 21st birthday on the Venture, I will never forget the memories we made.

Remember the times you had with her keep them close to heart and maybe you can find solace out on the open road someday.....
