  1. Have been waiting for my J&S jack since February - their web site, https://jsjacks.com/ is now suspended - they do not return emails, they do not return phone calls. Sorry to see them go - I was willing to wait for the product. Fortunately, I was able to file a dispute with my credit card company and got an immediate refund.

I guess I will be looking at the Pitbull jack now.

Domain is still good until 2024. However, it appears their hosting company BLUE DOOR CONSULTING is located, as you mentioned, is where it is suspended. Doing a deep check, everything is shuddered. Even email comes back undeliverable. :95:

  2. I did a fair amount of digging, testing, measuring, trying to get a CT for my 83 to work and never was successful as back before we were unable to chase Jack Rabbits across the hot deserts of the U.S., I was spooning on a new tire x3 just for a few weeks of fun. I had pretty much given up completely and then I bumped into Jakester (see vid) out in Sturgis with one mounted on his Wing.. :cool10::cool10: about it, I did follow up with a shot at the CT he was running and found out, once again, that the MK1's just don't have the clearance for a CT (at least that is what 35 years of spinning wrenches on these things turned up in my case). I am wondering if others have found the same and that that is the reason you are not being successful in your searching ND:detective:.. I do think the one in the video was the closest I had found to fitting and got a hunch that with some modding, that tire could be made to function..

CP, did you ever find the Darkside for the 1st Gen?

Yes I know that regular welds are stronger than JB weld - but as I no longer own an arc welder or acetylene welder any longer I needed to get it together to change a tire - so JB weld it is (for now). I will probably bolt it, grind it, and take it to a shop to have them put some nice welds on it before coating it with LineX. However - JB weld (properly mixed and set) has a strength of 3690 lbf/in2 - with placement of the angle iron over which will have the bike resting over top of the lifting bars resting on the jack, the only questionable torque point is the rear 3" lifter welds - where I would put the first set of bolts as soon as I have time to stop by the hardware store and get a good metal bit for my drill if i don't get to have it welded for me somewhere - but even then downforce of the bike should mostly be on the steel rather than the weld with it properly strapped with this configuration. Mostly was doing this way to get it together and change a tire. As always will have my bike ratchet strapped down, which should also help to keep downforce on my side for the first use before its properly finnished for the long term.

Okay my visualization receptor must not be working today. How does this adaptor to a jack? And what kind of Jack do you need?:confused07:

    Thanks!

  6. So, have you ever.. Been so happy you get this fixed, and that... and that.. and so on???

Only you kind of forgot something???

Yup that happened last night. Thankfully it was just around the corner.:sign brain fart::sign brain fart:

I've been working on the project for the past few months. It's fairly road ready and was going (being the optimal word) to ride it to a friends house.

Only as I got it a little down the road, thankfully in the neighborhood, it started getting slushy. And sliding out on me. Finally I took one more corner,

and Yup! you guessed it. I had forgotten to put enough air in the rear tire when I had it mounted/balanced. And then when I got it on the bike I was

distracted from fully airing it up. Lessoned learned. Well, at least I know the process to get it off. :beersign: :sign bring it on: I got this...

  7. Hopefully it is all something that can be easily resolved. They are looking at my adrenal glands now and I may have to have one of them removed but don't know that yet.

Don, like so many things that transpire being thrown at us. We can get through this with prayers and support. One note, if they haven’t checked already, double check your sodium.

  8. All I saw was the Pittsburgh Steeler's colors. I completely missed the coat of arms or what ever that emblem is. Military Unit?

Yeah it's actually suppose to be Blue Angels Blue & Gold Here are the logos so far.

  9. I can highly recommend the Harbor Freight portable tire changer and motorcycle adapter. It does need some minor modifications but works very nicely when they are done.

I made a duck head tool for mine that works extremely well on car and truck tires but only moderately so on motorcycle tires. I will be investing in a NoMar mount/dismount tool soon.

This is purely a cost measure right now. I will be gradually adding to my garage the needed supplies.

  10. Now before anyway blows me up..

A little story as to why. I have been successful so far to either save or repair most of the plastics.

However, there are a few including the trunk I am having to replace that are completely different colors.

I also, have a passion for this scheme. The adjusted picture doesn't quite do it justice but you might get the picture.

Well, you get the idea. Thoughts? Input
