  1. Still? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  2. Hey guys I still have these available. Hate to see them sitting around doing nothing so if you give me fifty bucks and pay the freight you got some new Progressive Springs! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  3. I pick up Venture this morning before my shop mechanic heads off to have a free drink on Warren Buffett at the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting tonight. I thought I was helping to feed his family, turns out he was getting rich! We have most of the richest people in the world in town this weekend. Anyway, the new back tire is on and the kickstand is fixed so now I've still got to deal with some leaking Forks but I only have 5 weight oil in there I'm hoping changing that to 10 and running a piece of film down inside will clean up the seal. Also right now I'm only getting 3 cylinders firing at idle but the number 4 (It's early and I can't remember right now, is it 3 or 4 that's the right side foward cylinder?)starts firing above idle and runs okay so the mechanic says run a tank of seafoam through and see what happens Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  4. It hurts like nothing else. You have to push through rehab Faithfully in spite of the pain. You will ultimately be happy that you did it. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  5. We have more than bikes in common. I started working at 10 years old scooping lead shavings out from under the linotype! Sorting leads and slugs, setting hand type headlines, pulling proofs on the proof press. Until I turned 30, I was a fourth-generation typesetter in a family of small newspaper owners. Your story about being owed advertising money brings to mind how my dad often tells the story how as a kid everybody would get to lineup for the relief trucks when they came to town but not him and his brother and sister. Grandpa owned the newspaper in the car dealers still had money for advertising so dad was never poor enough to get relief. They never had money but they always had somebody owed him something! I was actually a professional proofreader in 6th grade! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  6. I spent 23 years providing Orthopedic rehab equipment in homes for rotator cuffs, total knee replacements, anything to do with a joint or muscles or injuries. Sports injuries. For a lot of years my fleet of knee CPM machines was over 160 machines in use/day either in homes or hospitals. Helped hundreds of RC repair patients. Western IA and all of NE. How short, sweet, honest and breifly would you be up to hearing 3 truths about shoulder surgery based on my experience? Here's where I was the last 10 uears... https://www.orthotekinc.com/ Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  7. In the spring of O9 I was actually able to contact the Windjammer inventor/ builder guy's wife and bought four of the rubber trunk mount new from her! I really never got her together enough to be confident to ride more than an afternoon or so away from home and back. And it was just too short in the legs for me. Too close to the ground and I couldn't get my foot pegs far enough away to just be comfortable hour after hour like I can on my Venture. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  8. After a minute in the deep freeze, it's warmed up to around 40 Degrees today. Another Saturday of standing in the garage getting the 83 fired up and running for a bit. It's not going to be too much longer before we can get out again. Guess I better get that new rear tire ordered and on because it's so sad to miss that "First, Great, Lovin' Life, Gorgeous day filled with the promise of Spring"! Anyway, I ran across these photo's of my '80 1100 Goldwing from 2009. To see her now, I realize how little appreciation for the excellent condition she was in! In my ignorance, and before sinking super dumb money in the Venture, I let her go cheap because I didn't have interweb friends like you and she was just too expensive for me at the time to pay to do the seemingly minor mechanical work that she needed. I like the Venture much more except for missing the access to storage on that Jammer! I also loved the sound of that little four through those Jardin headers. Like a dune-buggy!
  9. Mine are still listed on the for sale string. Make an offer! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  10. Wonder if SkyDoc ever made any 1st Gen anti-dive covers this year? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  11. My neighbor was a union worker canning spam for over 30 years! He loves the stuff. Personally, I could never get past the texture! Is it meat? is it a drink? what the heck Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  12. Hey Everbody! Missed you all! I'm on my third job this year so riding wasn't the priority that it seemed like before March got here. Then I ran down my Shinko 230 on rear at about 5K by May. Budget crisis has had me doing 50 to 70 mile trips on it still but only when I couldn't stand to see her sitting around the garage. Now I'm ready to replace that tire and thinking of doing the E4 on rear. Will it be ok with a barely worn 230 on front? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  13. Hey! The contact in that photo is just a picture of my receipt don't contact that guy contact me. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  14. I have never been able to find Part 2 in your series. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  15. Am I going to get busted for using race and color in the same sentence? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  16. Let's have a color race rally on the salt flats next summer. Maroon 1st gen is fastest. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

  18. I like your wondering. You'll probably find more guys that have gone to the dark side with a car tire on the back then you will that have changed the carbs Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  19. So how did you extend the frame for the double cab? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  20. I think the glue is non-toxic now as well. Hmm, I always did enjoy good music while I was building models.... could that have been my gateway drug? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  21. You're bad again! Hahaha! I also wrote that the valves were adjusted in January or winter. With new valve cover gaskets. Although, sound of the valves on my number 2 cylinder seem somewhat chatty. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  22. Whew! 41,000 Better. I ran out of full fuel tank twice at 125/128 miles last year. I stopped carrying a gallon this spring because pretty consistently at 155 I had better have a plan. Stock OEM rebuild kit. Air cleaner in good shape. No on the popping out of air cleaner. I have never measured compression or coils before but might be able to borrow devices needed to do so for the first time. I'm hesitant to reply to your question with, I'm not able! I'm just inexperienced. New in January, wires and caps. Valve's adjusted and gaskets replaced. Running red TCI unit out of the Netherlands. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  23. I'll have to check my parts list from my mechanic but I was pretty sure he put all new stuff into my carbs in January. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  24. So here's the deal, my 83 in my estimation is running quite well this summer. However my exhaust smells very rich and my gas mileage is around 30 to 32 MPG. It does sound as if there's a very slight popping at highway speeds but not like a consistent miss or not firing cylinder. Having never been around another V4 or having anyone with experience with them around give me advice. I really wish someone could ride this thing and tell me how I'm progressing and how I can get rid of that seemingly wasted fuel somehow. Carburetors we were rebuilt this winter and synced a couple months ago and have remained consistent. Like have said before, as far as I know she's running hard and fast when I ask her to so I'm puzzled by the why it would smell like that. Smells like full choke exhaust or something.
