  1. Donnie; you gotta be the Bravest Dude we've ever known!

How you cope with that Stuff, AND continue running 'Best Site Ever', is beyond belief!

Um... were they afraid to go anywhere near 'The Stache'? Lard* wonders what lurks there?~

    Truly humbled regards, WRIDR.~

  2. Geeze Donnie, we had NO idea you were chasing us Age-wise! At 79 in November, we gain a bit of margin, but we KNOW you're gonna keep coming! Amazing you do this Stuff so well!

Keep the Hammer DOWN, 'Kid'. We truly admire, and APPRECIATE all your efforts!

    Humble Rgds, WRIDR

  3. Larry, PLEASE do NOT ride at ALL.

We had a similar situ last year, with Wife in hospital for a month, and the rotten PSW caused our Licence to be pulled as well - despite no hurts, accidents, no nothing!!!.

We were sorely tempted to see our dear Wife more often, but Family, Friends, and ('God blessem') Neighbors simply would NOT let us hit the road.!! We needed to bum rides, but NEVER had a situ where nobody was available to give us a Lift.

The Consequences - IF somebody caused an accident that unavoidably got you somehow involved - your LIFE would be over! Insurance Claims would take EVERYTHING!!!.

    Sincerely, WRIDR

  4. Hiya Ken T, and welcome to the Forum!

Not much else we can add at this stage, except you DID come to the right Place!

Hope you enjoy the new Ride; a DOOZIE in our opinion. You'll find LOTS of info in these parts.

    Warm Rgds, WRIDR

  5. Reminds us of a ride back to Toronto from Florida many yrs ago in near-freezing temps..

We're in a Walmart for a 'coffee-break warm-up' somewhere in Tennessee, and spot a young Cdn. Kid riding a mid-sizer with zero protection. Ordinary jacket and Jeans!  Temp barely above freezing, right? the Kid's trying to hang on to his Coffee with hands shaking so badly the drink was spraying everywhere. We asked, and he had only enough money for the Coffee.

Didn't have much either, but tossed $20 to him, and said: "Go find a two-piece Hazmat Suit (or at least the Top), and put it on over everything dry you still have in the bag. It will keep you warm and dry enough to at least get to the Border.

Sure hope he did; we weren't doing that well ourself!

  6. We got THIS one!

Anybody else live in Montreal in Spring of '70??? Storm of The Century.

We remember opening Blinds in Kid's 2nd floor bedroom, and a DOG OUTSIDE WAS  LOOKING IN THE WINDOW!!!!

    Opened Front Door:  packed-snow-covered top-to-bottom.

Our 4'10" secretary - sent her home early on Day One - stepped off commuter train at  Beaconsfield, and completely disappeared - head to toes - in a snowbank. Fortunately two other folks saw her go in.

Friends came for Dinner that night - his Birthday Wed. Mar 3rd. They went to leave at 10 pm - couldn't see Car! Finally got home on Saturday. Fortunately we had a grocery store at end of block, staff trapped for the duration. We grabbed their last Turkey on Day Two, and gained ten lbs by Saturday when Friends finally left.

Paperboy delivered the Paper on Day Two! Kid deserved the Medal of Honour.

    Those weren't The Days.

    Rgds,  WRIDR
