  1. My resolution is to make no resolution but this: be happy, enjoy life, ride as often as I can, love my children, see them as often as I can. Make friends instead of enemies, find happiness in everyday life activities. Be independent from need. I wish this all to everyone here, so go and be happy! Merry 2022 to all. Steve aka Bubber

  2. Another beauty of this site. You get more than one option/suggestion as to how best to deal with an issue, including the pro's and con's of doing certain tasks certain ways. BTW those proportioning valves I mentioned in my earlier post are notorious for building up crud in them.

Old laptop died and really couldn't afford to replace it at the time. life issues covid etc just made a mess of things for a minute s I just chilled out and waited till things got better. Been missing the bunch of ya . Still riding the golden Girl and burgundy Lady. Im Hoping all of you are well and still on the right side of the grass. I will try and keep in touch in between medical stuff. Got myself in a pickle jar with another aneurysm growing, Cat scans and MRI coming up on the 25th so they can decide what to do about it. 6. @videoarizona Hi David, It will come back and be a healthy tree again! Once you get it pruned and the water/feeding worked out, watch how quickly new growth starts. You will be surprised. As far as how often/long to water, you may have to consult with your local arborist or nursery as it will depend on your soil type and local evapotranspiration rate, but generally speaking, deeper and less frequent watering is better than frequent wetting of the top soil. I hope to hear from you in a year that you are enjoying some sweet and juicy oranges! Dean

  7. I spent the past two weeks volunteering with Samaritan Purse. I was a week in Bowling Green and a week in Mayfield. The most destruction I've ever saw on all the trips I've been on. The stories I heard from homeowners was unreal what they went through. On a good note, they are lots of volunteer and other organizations there to help. There are still lots of good Americans willing to help their neighbors in need.

  8. Heck you have not even hit the record in the asking questions department. So since you have a long way to go ask away. BTW those of us in the know love to assist, some of us even started out as you are doing now. This site is all about sharing knowledge and the questions even help us in the know because it gives us the chance to remember stuff that we sometimes forget or challenge us with a new problem to test our know how and diagnostic skills. Glad you decided to join. True we got a little off track the past couple years with the whole covid thing and all but hopefully come this year we will all be back on the subject of our bikes, a much better topic anyway. You will not regret joining and may even develop new friendships with members in your area. As they say birds of a feather flock together and we are definitely a bunch of fun loving bird brains

  10. I have been riding many of all makes used and new ..But as it turns out I will stay with the Yamaha ...They have a solid engine design and handle well and I do know everyone out there has his own favorite bike ( I started riding off road in 1958 and on the road when I got my first Harley in 1964 ) I spent 10 months on this 83 XVZ1200 to make it fit me

  11. Please do not start it back again. We all have strong opinions regarding this issue and we are obviously not going to change one another opinions.

  12. The reason putting the air filter lid back on makes a difference is that they are constant velocity carbs and need the vacuum created by the air filter box to make the diaphragms work properly. They will idle a bit but wont rev up must past 3K without having issues with the lid off. Also there isnt a gasket for the carb boot for its seating surface for the head. It uses an O-ring for that. What you can look for is as mentioned before, make sure the carbs are seated properly in the boots and the clamps are in the correct position and tight. Also check and make sure that the vacuum caps on the vacuum ports for carbs 1, 3 & 4 are tight and not cracked and leaking air. Carb #2 has a hose connected to it that run up the the ignition box for vacuum advance. If the bike is idling at 3K, there is a knob on the left side of the bike, under the left side carb rack that adjust the idle speed. Also check the 1st Gen Forum Library and under manuals, you can download a copy of the service manual for your bike. Hope this helps. Rick F.
