sleepy2 Posted 11 hours ago #1 Posted 11 hours ago was wondering if this would be usable in my 2012RSV or do I have to go to dealer?
Motorcycle Mike Posted 9 hours ago #2 Posted 9 hours ago i have always heard you should NOT put the same antifreeze you put in your car in your bike.
M61A1MECH Posted 4 hours ago #3 Posted 4 hours ago That is true, car anti-freeze has silicates in it that can wreck the seals in the bike's systems, use an anti-freeze that is designed for bikes.
megamile Posted 3 hours ago #4 Posted 3 hours ago Silicates not good for bikes. I don't remember what the specs are, but there is some antifreeze out there for cars that is usable. You have to read ingredients and become initial friendly.
N3FOL Posted 1 hour ago #5 Posted 1 hour ago FWIW, I've used Prestone coolant on my RSV and had done it twice already. So far so good.
