  1. Last week
  2. I bet it tastes really good. I might need to get my passport renewed. It seems like a good share of micro breweries make root beer as well. Maybe we need to have a 'Root Beer Rally' where everyone packs a case of Root Beer along to the rally for a 'tasting' with all the different brands. Hmmm...
  3. Ron, i installed sonic straight rate springs along with 15 wt fork oil, and I now run 0 psi air in the forks. I love the ride now.
  4. They were your idea anyway 🤣. I’ve got some pretty strong front dive after 80k on it. I started reading posts here thinking about progressives and found several posts by you and Rick Butler about the Sonics. I placed the order yesterday, when they get here I’m going to install them in a lower mileage set of Midnight forks from a parts bike I bought. Hopefully having the forks ready will make a quick job of pulling the fairing and swapping forks. I already have a hook in the ceiling to hang the inner from doing head bearings a couple years ago. I saved them with the idea of liking the chrome forks someday.
  5. I think you will like the Sonic Springs. In my opinion, they are the best option for the RSV.
  6. Babbling brook Root Beer. Has a real bite. All natural ingredients and made by Nickle Brook Brewery right here in Burlington Ontario. They are a privately owned micro brewery that also brews a variety of craft beers.
  7. True that, I kept using the battery in mine last year knowing I needed to replace it so last week I put the new battery in getting ready for riding season, so I have changed the oil and filter, checked all tires, new battery and checked lights. I need to check the brake and clutch fluid condition incase it needs flushing.
  8. Seems like every spring somebody posts a reminder to check fluids, tires, pressures etc. Handling on my bike seemed to get loose last fall, and I really didn’t look into it past tire condition and pressure, rode it last week and it didn’t ride well at all. I finally started looking at it and figured out 0psi in the left fork vs 6psi in the right makes it unhappy(bad Schrader valve core). I ordered new Sonic springs and fork oil to solve this problem permanently. Moral of the story: Don’t be complacent and do a better job pre tripping your bike than I’ve been doing. Easy to get lazy on a bike that rarely shows a problem.
  9. Agree with BlueSky. Common problem. That teeny hole in the MC will plug up causing the pistons to not release. Both master cylinders need to be checked since the rear seems to be the problem this time. A "E" guitar string is small enough to poke through the hole without damaging it. This usually happens when the brake fluid isn't changed regularly. Gunk gets in there or brake lines get old and start to flake inside the line. Poke the hole. Flush the system. New fluid. Go ride!
  10. Thanks for the insight. No doubt it has been laid down prior to my ownership. I rebuilt the forks with progressive springs and seals not long after I bought it several years ago and it hasn't been down since I have owned it. As I don't use air in the forks since the rebuild, should I just disconnect and plug that line? I will pull down the manual and run through the services too.
  11. I found a buyer for the trike and Deb sold the cargo trailer, so that leaves the RSV.
  12. Beautiful riding up there... getting there is an experience. Going thru Ct and NY is horrible in a car or on a bike.. I've have not ridden in WKY except to pass thru.. I was so looking forward to going.. I guess another time.
  13. Is it possible that the bike had been laid on its side at one time. Reason I ask is if that is the case, front fork oil may have possibly entered the air line and works its way back to the compressor and solenoids and that is what you have leaking. I am not aware of any oil used in the compressor so that wouldnt be what you have leaking. If you have the service manual, you can check pages 2-41 thru 2-46 and the services needed on the air compressor. There is also a procedure of how to remove the fork oil from the lines on page 2-40. The service manual is available in the tech section library. Good luck and let us know how it goes..
  14. Hello folks, While using the air compressor a while back I noticed oil running down the rear fender. Today I pulled the rear trunk off and it looks like the oil was coming from the compressor or whatever the thing with three cylinders attached is. Is there a way to repair this or do I have to delete it?
  15. Earlier
  16. The master cylinder has a hole in the reservoir that allows brake fluid to return to the MC when you release the brake. That hole is not open when you brake, only when you release the brakes. I would suspect that hole is plugged and that is your problem especially since both the left front and the rear would not release.
  17. Sprecher is the best I've had in a long time. Available in our local HEB grocery. I believe they are out of Wisconsin though. There used to be a small Mom and Pop place in Elyria OH that made their own. This was 20+ years ago but you would bring your own jug. Used to take cleaned 1 gallon Milk jugs.
  18. i have a real lik'n for potosi rootbeer. made in potosi wi. north of debuque iowa, right on the river. can get it in bottles or half gallons. team it up with cedar creast icecream, makes an excellent rootbeer float. unfortunately you can only get it right around potosi wi. nice bike ride for me,. can strap a case on the luggage rack on the bike or if i get half gallons, with the saddle bags empty n not to much stuff in the trunk. i can get 13 or 14 half gallons in all the bags n make it home. usually ride up the iowa side n ride the ferry across the mississippi river n then stop in potosi on my way home n load up! wonerful motorcycle roads to ride all the way over n back. good all day ride, close to galena on the way depending on which way i go! usually eat in balltown iowa, great place to eat n very senic ride!!!!!🍦
  19. I was hoping you could make it but have a good trip up there. The New Hampshire/Maine area is one of the trips we hope to make someday. We’ve never been past west New York.
  20. Birch beer's pretty good too, but hard to find.
  21. Well shoot, I was really looking forward to this... I have a family obligation in Hew Hampshire that I can't get out of. I'm going to miss this event.. On the plus side I will be riding up there so I guess there's that... I guess I'll see some of ya'll in Asheville..
  22. skydoc_17 sells a delinking kit. New SS hoses and and a manifold for the front.
  23. A&W is good in bottles, but best on tap when you could find an A&W restaurant / drive in. Frosted mug... yum. Last week I was at Cracker Barrel and brought home a Bundaberg (Australian?) and a Diet Dad's Root Beer. I am hoping to find a great root beer.
  24. I might just do that. Mine needs better looking chrome rails, plastic looks good though.
