Hello Venture friends. I have finally gotten to the point that I am not comfortable on the Venture any longer. The last few times I have ridden it, I had trouble getting my feet down quickly, so I started putting them down 20 to 30 feet before I got to my stopping point. This worked but made me very uncomfortable. I got to looking at other options and decided a Wing Trike was the way to go. I found a beautiful 2013 with a Champion conversion that I fell in love with. It's low miles and in excellent shape. The owner on had 3 of the same color so it wasn't hard to talk him into parting with it. I only have a couple of pics so far. I plan on cleaning the Venture up good and putting it up for sale. I absolutely loved riding a Venture, having ridden in every one of the lower 48, but it's time to say goodbye. I will still be around checking on everyone. Steve

Good morning to all! I’ve been riding to and from work since last week and over the weekend. Will cut grass this afternoon before all the rain comes in by tomorrow. Have a great day.

Sounds like fun. Weather permitting I hope to be at NSA Joe’s memorial ride.

One of my oldest friends and I will be riding up to the cabin in North Central PA on Thursday the 18th. We'll be doing some short rides around the area, hanging out at the cabin around the campfire , maybe enjoying an adult beverage and even a cigar....shooting the breeze for a couple of days. Should be relaxing and low key. Will be heading back to Youngstown OH Saturday or, more likely, Sunday. I was thinking that this may be an opportunity to invite some VR friends to stop by, maybe do a ride, even stay the night if they wish. There's a total of 12 bunks, one couch and two recliners. Cabin has a kitchen and a bath with a shower, serious business is done in an outhouse designed and built to be odor free. I know a HVAC guy (me) who built it. When I retire (beginning of next year) I'm hoping I'll have time and Lisa and I would like to arrange some low key get togethers at the cabin. This could be a good trial run for that, but I'm thinking for the time being, guys only.. You know....He man woman haters' club. lol... If anyone wants to swing by lemme know.

Found parts; ordered used replacement. Still have to order o-rings and crush washers. Have heard that it is possible to remove without removing carbs; I hate to mess with the carb boots as I'm afraid they might be brittle and/or crack (106,000 miles) and lead to bigger more gnarly things. Also wondering if I placed new seals on water pump shaft properly... Replacing radiator, fan, possibly thermostat next week to prep for long trip Juneteenth; would like to check pump and Twinkie at the same time (I think pump will be easier with radiator out). I have to stop this oil in coolant thing before it causes anything more. Any advice is greatly appreciated; anyone in the Tampa area who might have knowledge and be willing to help would also be appreciated.

On the left side of the engine there should be a cover for the stator, in the middle of that cover should be a large chrome srewcap, (flat head). Take out that screw cap behind it will be a nut. That nut is on the end of the crank shaft. See if the engine will turn over by turning the nut. With the plugs out it should turn easy. No gasket needed, it has a rubber seal.

I wish I had that riders riding skills!

Thank you everyone for your feedback and suggestions. I drained and replaced the oil this morning. It definitely had some gas in it. I refilled with fresh oil and changed the filter. Then I moved on to removing the tank and pulling the plugs. Right rear plug appeared wet, the others were dry. I tried to turn the motor with the plugs out, but it won't turn. Solenoid clicks. Also, can't seem to get it into first gear. Not sure what to do next, but this is more than a carb problem. Any suggestions for next steps?

I retired from riding back in September. I'm not leaving here tho. Too many friends to just walk away from. I just wont be leading anymore rides.

A Biker is always a Biker, like a 5 year old child on his bicycle. Don't fade away because you don't ride anymore, just rejoice with the ones that still do, Later-

I've had one for a few years. I miss the convenience of a half or 3/4 being able to drink some water while riding though.

Nice. Never had one but they are one of the best.
