after traveling back from New Jersey from the IR run that I briefly left on my return trip home I found myself sleeping outside at the North Carolina welcome center at that point in time I decided it was time to buy one of those cot tent sleepers, so this way if I ever needed to stop the rain or too dark to ride I can pull in somewhere and set up my tent cot and have a safe place to sleep.:draming:

A backpacking hammock would take far less room and provide about as much protection as this thing or more. I'll pass. :)

While I agree, that would be the lightest possible solution, it requires something in close proximity to tie it to and I still wouldn't be able to use it as I NEVER sleep on my back.

Prefer to sleep on my stomach with my feet hanging off the end of the bed.

Proper hammock camping does NOT require you to sleep on your back.

Mine are cut Asymmetrical so that I can actually lie flat on side or stomach.

Check out hammockforums for all kinds of info.

I can not sleep on my back either and I sleep like a baby in the hammock.
