  1. I downloaded and printed the Jason Mod articles and pictures along with the Blocking off the AIS article and pictures. I am going to do both of these mods. My question is, once you do the AIS blocking and then go onto the Jason mod; what do you do with the vacuum hoses from cylinders 2 and 3 once you have spliced in the small 3/16" fuel tubing as shown in the pictures? Thanking you in advance. Chris
  2. Hello It s my first post, except MP with Gary. 3. I m rebuilding the forks on a 1990 Venture Royal. The plate seat came out. My question is there is a rubber ring that appears to bonded to the the plate seat is this necessary to have the rubber on it since fluid can get around it any way or do I need a whole new plate seat cause the rubber ring is important? Please look at the pictures Thanks.
  4. Thunder By The Bay in Sarasota Fl was a huge event that went on for several days. There were many of the downtown streets that were blocked off on Sunday for the finale. Jagermeister sponsored the big stage and the music was awesome by several bands. There were thousands of bikes, a couple of bike shows and hundreds of vendors with everything from patches to parts to bike customizing on the spot. There were some pretty cool Ventures, Royal Stars and even side cars. I know you guys are gonna complain about pictures but it was pretty hot and most of the bikes (the ones I wanted to take pictures of) were parked in the shade and my cell pictures were all too dark or had pictures of people more than bikes. There was plenty of parking that was either on the streets or huge reserved lots for those that had registered for any of the events. The food was awesome for vendor food but hey who doesn't like the Italian Sausage with peppers and onions or a deep fried snickers bar? Budweiser was the beer sponsor and there were beer tents everywhere. There were even full bar tents and even though there were a lot of mixed groups from MCs to Veterans rider groups and clubs by ethnic background everyone behaved. I was wearing my vest with my American Legion Rider emblem on the back as well as some other veteran and patriot guard patches so I was especially thankful that a lot of folks stopped me to say thank you for your service and several even thanked me for belonging to the Patriot Guard. All in all it was a pretty great time especially the charity poker run and I would recommend that folks try to make it next year.
  5. http://bamarides.com/ride/ride-reports/lazy-leola-sunday/ check out some of the pictures... several very good shots...
  6. I am in the process of installing cruise control on my 1983 Venture Standard. I have purchased almost all of the items I need to do this upgrade from ebay. Prior to installing the parts, I will be disassembling the ones that I can and cleaning them. I have made the following write up of the process of cleaning the clutch side switch housing that came off of a 1988 Venture. The pictures show the switch completely removed from the bike. It is fairly lengthy, 47 pictures, but thorough. I would recommend removing switch from bike if you perform this cleaning. There are a number of small springs and ball detents that are very easy to lose unless you have a large well lit working area. If you are unable to open the PDF file, PM me with your email address and I will send it to you. I have detailed the throttle side switch in another thread. Picture below is of the switch detailed in this PDF file.
  7. I will not claim that this is a new trick, or up an old sleeve, but I am trying a new (to me) idea of psychological persuasion on my wife. Others may have tried this before, but it is new to me. Let me say that my wife does not restrict me from buying any motorcycle I want. My wife rides her own bikes, and I maintain them for her. My wife is a rider at heart, and she...understands...why we ride. She too can claim it is in her blood. Also, I am able to afford this, so the dollars issue is not an...issue. The government continues to pay me a lot of money for my brain cells, despite the fact that I have been retired since I was 47 years old. For some reason..."they" think I am intelligent, despite what I may have portrayed on this forum. So, to the fun part of this... After having seen the new Honda F6B on Saturday, at the International Bike Show, and seeing it confirmed that I want to own one...but knowing that I have a large building filled with motorcycles now, including my wife's three bikes, it would be a very small stretch for me to suggest to my wife that I "needed" another bike. We do give each other the respect to always discuss larger purchases, as we are a team, a couple, and respect one another. So, how do I go about bending things, twisting things, contriving things so that she herself thinks this is a good idea to buy a new Honda F6B? My solution, I downloaded all the wallboard pictures of the F6B that Honda has posted on their website, and I posted all those pictures as Desktop background on my computer that we share in the office. The pictures are shown one at a time, and only change when a person wakes up the computer, from sleep mode, and the desktop background appears. I think there are about 7 or 8 pictures of the bike, so she gets to see the bike at different angles, on different roads, and in the two colors (colours), even though I would only buy the black one. The first time she came into the living room after having seen what was on the desktop background, her first comment was that the bike is very nice looking. She did have a smile on her face. I then told her that the bike sits lower than a standard GL-1800, and she said that maybe she could ride one too. That was the hook ! So, for the next couple weeks, until the time that I leave to ride down to Bolivia, I will keep those new F6B pictures on the desktop background of our joint computer, for her to see everyday, in an attempt to psychologically persuade my wife...a woman with more than one Ph.D., and more initials after her name than I have. This is going to be fun.
  8. Hi all, Having trouble tracking down STR-4NK27-14-01 Billet oil filler cap for my 2006 midnight venture. I can however get my hands on an STR-5BN27-14-01 billet oil filler cap for a vstar. It appears in the pictures I have of both they are identical, in fact the same picture. Are these two pieces interchangeable? Chris
  9. Have to do a little upholstering to the seat of the MM Venture I just bought from the insurance company here in Iceland. Can anybody by looking at the pictures tell me if this is a Mustang seat, Corbin, Saddleman and so forth. Need to order some upholstery material from the maker of the seat.
  10. Just took a peek at some tri-wing industries stuff. Any others out there? Pros and cons of doing it yourself and what about a reverse? If you have one lets see the pictures?
  11. I have some of the major components coming for a 2003 RSV. Frame, rear suspension, front end, handle bars & controls, foot controls, tank, fenders, seat etc. I am going to use these parts as basis for a hybrid 1st Gen/2nd Gen/VMax. Never having seen a disassembled RSV, it would be helpful if someone could get me as many pictures as available of an RSV in various stages of dis-assembly. This would greatly help on my winter (probably several) project. Gary
  12. Hope you'll enjoy the last picture's Of the PIP. I'm already getting a new recipe for some awesome pumpkin bread with walnuts. Yummy!!!!
  13. I just bought a Vetter sidecar for $700 and was wondering if there was anyone who could help with some technical info on the mounting and or could provide pictures of how their sidecars are mounted:322: The vetter did not come with mounting hardware
  14. Here are some pictures we took at Pork in the Pines. We had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone! good food and good friends. Thanks, Tom and Anne
  15. Just uploaded some pictures showing the progress of the flip nose conversion of my Motorvation Formula II. Check out the link below for the pictures. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/album.php?albumid=1094
  16. As you can see in the pictures, I have one more cover to polish. All the covers started out looking like the stator cover. The other covers I started with 220 grit sandpaper, and worked my way up to 800 grit before switching to polishing compounds. The third image is of the stator cover after using paint stripper to remove the old finish. With this one I'm thinking of just using Black Emery polishing compound to clean up the ugly spots first then work on the whole case, working my way up to Red Rouge. I tried this on a couple of spots in the last two pics. I'm using a Dremel Tool with wool polishing wheels. Bill
  17. Here are the pictures I promised you of my new used '87 First Gen. Hope you approve of it.
  18. Does anyone have a set of these that you would be willing to sell and could someone post pictures or email me Pictures of what they look like on the bike? Thanks!!
  19. Lori Tom and Debby Hendry and I will be riding these roads and trails on utv's for the next week. I couldn't resist taking the bmw up for a preview. The pictures are on the alpine loop near cinnamon pass. (Lake city CO) Anybody want to come play?
  20. at 5:00 Dogs were going wild...so I went to investigate. a bear came and tried to get into our garbage box. The first bear was standing on top of the garbage box right outside my window! I could have reached out and touched it! But he couldn't figure out how to get into the box. I tried to get some pictures thru the window but all I got was blurry screen. 6:00 another one came by...by now I was awake enough to figure out how to use the camera. This must just be a cub because .this one is MUCH smaller than the first. The big one just sort of looked at me and couldn't care less. The pics of the smaller one are just below the deck on the ground....no more than 10 feet away from where I was standing taking the pictures.
  21. Has anyone made a rack to carry your bicycle on the top of a tag along or trailer?? Any pictures??
  22. A separate thread to post any and all pictures to the IR 2012, so that is going to be easy for others to find them. It 'll be in the Watering Hole for now, I will move it in a week or so to it's proper spot.
  23. Hi, As the new owner of a, somewhat neglected, 83 Venture I have been doing some fluid changes, cleaning etc. Well, I decided to take apart the left hand control to clean it as it was kinda "sticky". I got a little ahead of myself and took out the internal screws (before snapping a couple of pictures) and then proceeded to have a handful of parts. I've put it back together but I seem to have a spare piece. I have, historically, found that usually there aren't any spare parts. I have added some pictures. Can anyone tell me where this bit goes?
  24. Have a look at these pictures... Keith
