    New Yamaha Bagger

Did you click on this new thread thinking it was a new offering from Yamaha? Well...not exactly...but it IS cool looking. Click on the link to see just how good a bagger can look. http://www.corbin.com/yamaha/ylnrbag.shtml Saw this in a recent Bagger magazine.
  2. Folks, I'm getting emails every day asking if it is possible to join or renew memberships by credit or debit card for those without PayPal accounts. Please note, you do NOT need a PayPal account in order to pay with a credit/debit card or an e-check. If you do not want to use PayPal but DO want to use your credit or debit card, you can simply click on "settings" at the upper right corner of the page, scroll down until you see "Paid Subscriptions" in the left menu. Click on that link. You will then see a page that says "VentureRider Support" with a drop down box on the right side. Click on the arrow on that drop down box and select the only option, 1 year - $12.00. The click the button that says "Order". That will open a new page. Click the button that says "Order Using PayPal". There will be a link on that page to pay using a credit or debit card without a PayPal account. In that case, they are just the credit card processor. That will open another page. From that page, you can login and pay with your PayPal account OR you can select the option that says "Don't have a PayPal Account"? Click "Continue" beside that option and you will get a page where you can use your credit or debit card or e-check without a PayPal account. In this case, I am simply using PayPal as my credit card processor. In the attached image, I have circled the part that I am talking about. Thanks, Don
  3. I have an 06 Venture. Got on the bike yesterday and get 1 click at the starter. I charged the battery and still the same 1 click. Took the battery in and it checks out as good and fully charged. Checked battery connections and still only one click at the starter. Everything else works, lights are bright and etc. I am not sure where to look for the problem. Any advise is appreciated.
  4. We are in the process of rebuilding our VR Assistance List. If you can and are willing to offer assistance to a member who is riding through your area, please edit your profile to include that information. Simply click on "Settings" at the upper right of the page and then scroll down to "Edit Profile". Near the bottom you will find a place to select "yes or no" in regards to offering local assistance and then a place to select services that you may be able to offer. Cowpuc just mentioned in another thread another, and maybe easier, way to get to it. Click "forum actions" in the small menu at the top. Select edit profile. Scroll down and you'll see where to select your information.
  5. Looks like you can click on shoutbox then archives and go back up to two days!
  6. (This was the reason I posted a few weeks back requesting your prayers). I have many memories of this man.....Many miles we rode together, many laughs shared, many times sitting at the same table, many stories told.. Please click on link: Jerome Lee Bough Obituary: View Jerome Bough's Obituary by Northwest Herald VR.ORG name: Boo Joined VR.Org on 08-16-2006 Bike Year and Model: 2001 Red RSV EDIT 12-27-14: Sorry I didn't explain/provide this information in my original post folks. I was having computer problems and wanted to post what I could at that moment to get the new out to you. Boo had Leukemia, MDS and his kidneys began failing. He was placed in the hospital during the third week of November. Dialysis was going on for his kidneys, and he was on some strong medication which left him bed ridden. Many sores appeared in his mouth which made it hard for him to speak. His legs were both swelled up. The Dr. told him and his wife Jane that he would not make it to the new year. Boo wanted to go home to be with his family. The hospital let him go home on Friday, Dec 5th, knowing there wasn't anything else they could do for him. Jane asked her their kids to watch him on Friday Dec 12th so that she could go to the funeral home to make arrangements. When Jane returned home her kids met her at the front door. Jane knew he passed while she was gone. Jane told me that Boo just didn't want to her to see him pass on . They were married 47 years., That is a long time to be with someone. Boo and Jane were good friends with everyone they met in the VR family. He will be missed..
  7. OK..back by popular request is a modification that allows you to create your own favorite smiles. There is a small bug in the programming code that is causing it to show two rows of blocks at the bottom of the quick reply box where it should be only one. I will get that figured out. In the meantime, it does work. First of all, I have again created some categories of the available smilies to make it easier to find the ones you want in general. There is also a category called "My Favorites". To add your favorite 20 smiles to that category, you have to click on "Settings" in the upper right of the page. Then scroll down until you see DBTech - VBEdtior Tabs in the left menu. Under that is "Favorites Tab Settings". Just click on that and then drag your favorite 20 into the box.
  8. Ok- I have been a dabbler with Linux for many years. With the advent of Windows 8 I am much closer to dumping Microsoft in favor of a Linux box for our HTPC. However, I have not been able to find a Blu-Ray software program that will run under Linux in a SIMPLE way. I am talking load disc, click on an icon and enjoy movie. Anyone know of such a critter? It can be free or paid. JB

  10. well i cant get any air to build up. pump clicks but has no output. this bike has sat for a few years. the motor should run not click. so would this be the pressure switch turning it off. and could i disconnect the switch and run compressor. or is the system smarter than i think.
  11. I have to adjust the cable until I hear the relay click, then I can start it. Sometimes it will even have issues immediately if it dies suddenly after starting. I have to go back and do it again. I was having issues getting it started the other day. Not sure if I couldn't hear the click since the battery was low, maybe not enough voltage for the relay. Hoping that's the only issue. But I would like to ride it again. Planning on taking the trip down to Yellowstone before I move. Pretty much the whole reason I bought it, plus I only paid $1000.
  12. I got an email showing that Star Demo Days will be in Sturgis again this year. I read all the way through the list of bikes available to test and noticed no Venture AGAIN........I think you can go to the yamaha website and see the list. Click on news and events on the top header. Then click display and demo schedule. It shows places and lists the bikes available to test ride.
  13. So made a few stops on way home tonight but had a strange thing happen as itried to leave my last stop. Did my usual click into N then hit start button and nothing, bit of a click but nothing, absolutely nothing radio off dash off lights off totally dead. After a bit oftime I turn key again dash lights up N lights up ,so ihit the start button and again click dead. So i check all relevant fuses everyone looks ok. I call a mate who lives nearby,he shows up with some extra tools and ofcourse I turn key everything works and bike bloodywell starts . I'm not sure what's the problem but have a suspicion its the starter relay. So my question to you guys is what do you think it is? or has this happened to you and what was the fix. I appreciate all and any input Gordie.
  14. ...or am I just seeing things when I go to click on one of the "post reply" buttons!?
  15. One of the reasons that I wasn't too upset at failing to finish the April Fools Rally was simply that I got this picture. This is one of the hundreds of similar moments I get in every long distance (and many of the shorter) rides that I do. For me it contains nearly all the elements of why I do this. If you click the photo you can see the full resolution version, SmugMug is good like that Feel free to add your own pictures to the thread. http://twigg.smugmug.com/Motorcyling/Rallies/April-Fools-Rally/i-QPFHqZw/0/M/IMG20120401145503-M.jpg You can't click the photo, so here is the link to the Gallery:
  16. Good clean fun!! I remember when.... (for some reason the embed is not working, just click the link) update: changed the link, lets try this... [ame] [/ame]
  17. I see many posts here stating that the search function does not work or does not work well but if you know he best way to use it, it actually works very well and is simple to use. I concede that the base function included with VBulletin leaves a lot to be desired. That is why I long ago installed a modification called "Google Search". It is very simple to use and returns much better results than the standard search function. Here is the best way to search the VentureRider forum. First of all. Make sure you are on the home page of the forum, NOT the Venturerider home page. The home page of the forum is the page that lists all the various forum areas such as Watering Hole, First Gen Tech Talk, etc. To make it simple, you want to be at http://www.venturerider.org/forum At the top of the page are two blue menu bars. You will see the "Search" link in the lower menu bar. It is the third button from the right side. Click on the "Search" button and a drop down menu will open. Do not enter your search terms in the top field. Look at the very bottom of the drop down menu and you will see an option for "Google Search". That is what you want to use. Enter your search term, for example "oil", in the field just below "Google Search". Do NOT click search just yet. You have two selections to choose from just under the field where you enter your search terms. The are "web" and "www.venturerider.org". You want to click on the circle beside "www.venturerider.org". That way you are searching only the venturerider forum and not the entire Internet. After you have entered your search term and clicked on "www.venturerider.org", then click the button that says "Google Search". That's all there is to it and it works very well. I am adding some pictures to show exactly what you should be seeing. The first picture simply shows which search button I am referring to. The second shows what you should see when you click on the search link. The third shows what you should enter to search for, example, oil.
  18. Be wary of those web links you click on... (this one's ok...) http://us.trendmicro.com/us/trendwatch/flod/20110113/spotlight.html

  21. Not sure what's going on here but whenever I click on "New Posts", it says there aren't any ... yet I know there are ... ???
  22. THIS WILL DRIVE YOU CRACKERS ! Go to the site, then click on the start button. A group of numerals from 1 to 33 will appear in red boxes. You don't need to click on the numbers, just move your cursor over them in order from 1 to 33 and as you correctly do so that numeral will disappear. See how fast you can get the task completed. This is a good practice to keep your brain sharp and your eye hand co-ordination crisp, or ...................................................... it could drive you mad! Enjoy!! HA! Note: REMEMBER, you don't have to "click" the mouse http://www.chezmaya.com/jeux/game33.htm

  24. A man goes into a bar and drinks beer. After every glass of beer he pulls a picture out of his pocket and looks at it. After the 4th beer the waiter asks him why after every glass of beer he pulls the picture out and looks at it Then the man says: It's a picture of my wife. When she looks good to me I'm going home. That is an example of the "The Power of Beer" Be sure to click where it says "click here" Wait a few seconds and if nothing happens then pull the beer glass to the right.http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00622/beer_goggles_622180a.swf
